I sent my daughter in law to this place for phone repair. She dropped my Galaxy S5 in the morning. My phone charging port went bad. They gave her an estimated cost to repair. I went with this place because they gave her best case and worse case senario. Other cell phone stores just gave her worse case senario deal. They repaired my phone and even got it back same day. It ended up costing my only $148.50. Way less than what other stores quoted. This store was very polite and gave me what issues I may run in to. It's works perfect no issues. Saved me from having to buy a new phone. Will use again for future cell phone repairs. Gave a five star rating becuase I'm happy and my daughter in law said she didn't feel pressured or taken advantage off. That goes a long way for me. read more

The first time I did business here, I had a mostly positive experience. I had my iPhone 6s Plus screen replaced, and I bought a phone case and screen cover. While I believe the prices are a bit high, the quality of the work was satisfactory. The next time I went in there, I was trying to get my phone unlocked. I explained to them it had not been paid off, but I was promised that it could still be unlocked. I prepaid which was a HUGE mistake on my part. I was told a card had to be ordered and would take 1-2 weeks. Time went by, and I stopped in several times. Long story short, my phone is still not unlocked and I'm out my $100. The owner kept putting me off and asking for more time, which i gave him, because what else could I do? He kept offering alternative solutions to unlocking my phone, because obviously whatever he was currently trying wasn't working. I asked for my money back after about two months of this, and he asked for my receipt. I explained I had filled out a receipt with my information but had paid in cash and not received a receipt from the cash register. He went on about how I couldn't get a refund because I didn't have a receipt. I went back another day when another employee was working (an employee that liked me) and went through the recept book and found both copies of mine (white and pink). He had never given me mine (I obviously took mine). I filed a complaint with the mall about Cellphonia, but I was told, while they can talk to the owner and encourage him to refund me, they cannot force him to do anything. This place is horrible! They charged me 120$ for a horrible screen replacement. They said " yeah it will be ready to go in an hour". I come back like two hours later and it was ready, but it was in plastic wrap and rubber banned . He said keep it there for 3 days. Barely usable I kept it for a day adjusted the bans a little. BUT ON TOP OF THAT they broke my camera and said they could fix it but never did. There shitty work ended up peeling off and ended up ripping off HORRIBLE GO TO UBREAKIFIX!! Both cellphonia's are owned by different people. And both of them are horrible! The first one put glass on our phones and tried to pass it off as LCD but still charged us for LCD. They tried to hold it together with glue and I was able to peel off their 3 hour work which they said will be one hour off in seconds. Then tried to keep my boyfriends phone I was playing tug-a-war with it until a man came out! They added extra scratches to my phone and still did a crummy job. After I made the comment I could've did a better job they threw someone's broken phone who dropped it off and said I'll give you $100 to fix it. That was so unprofessional! The other cellphonia advised me to get my money back from the first one which I did but they were just as bad! The phones were fixed in front of me which I was ok with. But I came in three days later because my screen popped out and they placed it back in for me. While talking to the technician he told me how he scammed this lady who came in with a broken screen and she didn't realize her phone company put a screen protector on. He took off the screen and still charged her $200. I then had to go to the other cellphonia again less than a week later because my screen popped out again! This time it broke. Now my touch on my phone is messed up, the sound, and there's random glitches! He told me there's no way to prove the screen cracked on because it came off and he'd have to charge me full price. Why would I give you anymore of my money after you admitted into scamming people? After it broke because it wasn't properly installed? Keep in mind I got two phones fixed and the other iPhone is messed up too. Just not as bad. I recommend not going to any of the places in the mall for any kind of technical fix! DO NOT GO THIS PLACE! THEY ARE DISHONEST & DO POOR WORK! We took our iPhone 6s in for a glass repair on a Sunday, they told us it would be ready the next day. It wasn't and not only that, but we got the runaround for 4 DAYS (after every excuse in the book)!!! On Thursday they finally told us that they were not able to fix the phone and when they returned it, it was in far WORSE condition. When we addressed this, they said they had fired the technician that worked on the phone & there was nothing else they could, it was out of their hands now. I couldn't believe it!! We even filed a police report, but, unfortunately, the cops said it was a civil matter and there was nothing THEY could do since this was a case of "bad business". How can they get away with this?!! CELLPHONIA IS RUN BY A BUNCH OF CONMEN!!!! I brought my new iPhone to CELLPHONIA because I had a crack in the screen..... They charged me $140 (normally $150 but if I paid cash they would take $10 off) to replace the screen with another replacement screen from Apple. Come to find out it was a knock off screen that went black when I would put my sunglasses on due to the polarization of the cheap screen. On top of that, it never even fit my phone. The screen also kept popping up off on the corners, because none of screws were put back in. To add to the disappointment, the home screen button was disconnected so my fingerprint login wasn't working either. I went back a week later on my next day off to have them fix the problems they created. I saw the same person, who originally took my phone in for repair, he said he was the owner. Of course he remembered me but said he refused to do anything with my phone because I didn't have the receipt. I reminded him that he never gave me a receipt because he wanted me to pay cash to avoid paying taxes!!!!!! After going back-and-forth for 10 minutes, he still refused to take any responsibility or try to fix the problem. DO NOT GO TO CELLPHONIA!!!! Don't ever go here. I gave my 11 month old Samsung S6 Edge in Feb 2016 with a minute spider crack and paid $250 to fix it on the same day. It's Sep 2016: Victor did fix the screen, but broke the fingerprint reader, lost my sim card tray and the phone no longer read the sim card. He wouldn't fix the phone, nor give me the money I paid. I have made at-least 40 trips to the store so far, and every time his answer would be its ready and will give the phone to me in the next 4 days as he has it at another location. I have all his bullsh**t on SMS - with reasons he gives every time. While at store, I have seen him mock customers when they aren't noticing - giving signs as if "look at this loser", or "she is ugly" (while he would have just said to her face "you are beautiful" and turn to his worker with a sign indicating she is ugly when she isn't looking). I was please with the fact that they could fix my phone screen quickly and for a reasonable price. However, once repaired, the phone did not work properly!! I was sent home and told that it was take 24 hrs for the screen to adhere properly to the LCD. Next day, the phone still didn't work! Returned and after they "did something", it appeared to be fixed. A week later, I'm still having issues. The screen is freezing, the keys stick when I type & it doesn't allow me to answer calls. I returned and was told that nothing was wrong with my phone, and that the sticking is normal as it could take up to 3wks to adhere properly. This review is for the Cellphonia which is located next to Sears (first floor at Fox Valley). I brought my broken LG phone to this store and was pleasantly surprised at a few things about the whole experience. Although it was a Saturday afternoon and quite busy at the mall, I still felt that both gentlemen were extremely pleasant and professional in their demeanor. They assessed that my repair would require no more than 30 minutes which turned out to be accurate. After taking apart my phone, the gentleman repaired it quickly and I was done within time promised. Overall, I feel that the gentlemen were highly professional and honest. They were extremely knowledgeable in their assessment. While other businesses were willing to repair my phone for $30 extra, these gentlemen were honest in their pricing and the work they did. I also saw the owner turn other customers away when he felt the issue could not be repaired due to severe damage. Therefore, I feel that these gentlemen attain ethical business practices and conduct a fair operation. Under no circumstance, will I take my phone anywhere else in the future. read more

I BEG OF YOU TO NEVER GO HERE! If I could give it negative stars I would! Here's what happened...I shattered the screen on my phone and I took it here and they told the part for my phone will come in a day or two and they'll call me when it comes in. They never did and I ended up calling them, and they ended up having the part and never called me. So I took my phone in and it took them an hour and when I came back they said they had a faulty screen and need to order a new one. Okay it happen, not their fault whatever so they said it'll come in the next day (which was a Saturday) and call me when it comes in and I said that's fine. Again they never called me and I had to call them and they told me that they don't get parts on the weekends and the screen won't be in until Monday. I was really aggravated by this point and they literally fought with me in the phone over it too. So Monday comes around and still no phone call and I realize it's President's Day, so I call to see if they'll even get packages and they said they don't and they were glad I CALLED THEM (they should have called me). So Tuesday comes and finally get a phone call from them saying my part came in and I said great, just call me when the part is on and tell me if it works or not and were good and he said okay. No surprise I never got a phone call, so again I had to call them. He told me that the screen didn't work again and he wanted to send it to the corporate office and I told him I did not want him too and that I will come back to get my phone and money back cause at this point it was a waste of my time, he said okay. So I went in Wednesday morning to find out he had sent my phone to the corporate office WITHOUT TELLING ME THE NIGHT BEFORE OR EVEN ASKING ME. So I got my money back and he said he will call me first thing when the phone comes in Thursday. AGAIN no phone call, I called them and their excuse was that the guy who dealt with me wasn't in that day so that's why I never got a phone call. Apparently no one there knows how to dial a phone besides him. So that brings me to today (Friday) I called before I went and asked if the manager will be there and he said yes and I said okay I want to talk to only him when I get there and want the corporate number. Surprise Surprise I get there and the manager wasn't there and only the manager has the corporate number. I came in Sunday November 1, 2015 at 4:45pm they close at 6:00 PM. I paid $174.00 to get a thin hairline crack on my iPhone fixed. It was originally $160.00, but it was $14.00 for taxes, $14.00 tax! WHAT THE F!@#?!! And they told me it will take 15 minutes. I come back 15 minutes later, and they told me the screen they had put on had weird line things going on with my phone and they said they had to get another screen in and something to clean my phone with. I asked how long it would take and they didn't have a clear answer for me and I sure as hell did not want to leave my phone overnight with these scammers, who knows what they could do with my phone. So I told them I would come back first thing tomorrow morning. I skipped two of my AM classes at College of Dupage and get to the mall at 10:00 AM sharp. They didn't open the store until 10:50 AM. So that right there already ticked me off. Then he said it will take another hour for the screen to get here, and that pushed another one of my buttons. I sat there to make sure this guy is doing his job and trying his best to get the screen sooner, but no, this dude sat there taking personal phone calls and talking to his friends about what he did last night with his friends. 30 minutes roll by and he still talking to his friends then out of no where he said, your screen wont get here until 2:00 PM. That was the final F!@#$% straw for me. I politely stormed out and went home. I got home I called the place asking to cancel and want my money. I wish there was an option for ZERO stars. This place is HORRIBLE. This is actually my first time ever writing a review because I've never ran into an issue like i did with these so called "cell phone techs". My boyfriend's phone was in their shop for 7-8 months or so because of a screen issue, with us doing weekly follow up's about it. We always got the run around that it was still being repaired. REALLY? I finally recorded them one day when they admitted to not even having the phone. They claimed it was at another shop in Chicago and it would take a week to get there. I followed up with them EVERYDAY about it. Then, when they claimed they had it, it was clearly someone else's phone (completely obvious because my boyfriend never had a star wars sticker on the back of the phone and it was a different colored phone he had blue and they gave us silver). had the cracked screen om my gallaxy s3 fixed there on 10/8/14 while I was visiting from out of town. It had been working just fine with the cracked screen for over two months,no issues at all. Decided to fix for cosmetic reasons. Immediately after the phone was not recognizing the battery (it had a full charge before fixing). They said it needed a charge so I stood there in the store and gave it a quick charge. There was also an air/ liquid bubble in the center that they said would dry up in a day. (which it did not) A few days later, I went to use the camera and the pics were coming out with lines on them. Then the whole phone died. Too late for me to go back because I was already back home. About two weeks later my phone cracked again but it was just a straight line across the screen. This time I took it to a real apple repair center. The genius bar took one look at my phone and saw that something was very wrong. They opened my phone up and found that there was a Samsung battery in my phone. My iPad was shutting down when i drop it so i took it there for repair knowing apple warranty is expired. The store owner told me in order to fix the issue LCD requires a replacement. Since there was crack in the iPad i agreed. When i took back iPad home after iPad is fixed it stopped charging. I tried all different ways to charge and went back to them to ask why it is not charging, they said it is a existing problem... If it is existing problem how could it run all these months????? My son dropped his cell phone and shattered his screen so we went to the fox valley mall in Aurora to see if anybody could replace the screen for him. We asked all the cell phone stores and kiosks to compare prices and decided to go for the one that charged the least! Right? Wrong move! These people did not know what they were doing. An air bubble immediately appeared after we stepped out of the store. So we went back, 3 times that day to try to get it fixed, and another time the next day! The air bubble just wouldn't go away! We finally figured out they were not professionals. We went to a kiosk and spent another $20 to get it fixed. The people at the kiosk immediately knew where we went to and said the people at Cellphonia used cheap glue etc. Anyway, not only was Cellphonia unprofessional, one of the (older) Indian men was very rude to us and tried to wave us off the second day. Before we finished saying why we were there, he acted as if he had heard it hundreds of times and sent us off to another (of his) Cellphonia(s), at the other end of the mall. HORRIBLE!!!!! Okay let me start off by saying had I read the reviews before going I would have never went. I thought that just because they were in the mall that they would be honest and trustworthy but they were not. I first dropped my phone off to them on October 19, 2016. They did not have the color of my screen in stock and said that they would have it next day and tried to convince me to go with a black screen that should have been a sign for me to keep going then but no and he had me to pay up front before the work was even finished that should have been another sign to leave. Half of my screen was not responding at the time so the guy said to do a master reset and this should help. It didn't. I returned the next day October 20th The guy said that they would work on it more there at Cellphonia and let me know by 6pm that day if they could fix it or not. He mentioned that he knew someone in Chicago that could fix my issue but would let me know by the end of October 20 if They could fix it there in the mall or not they just needed more time to look at it is what he told me. I returned the next day October 21st to see if they could fix my phone there at Cellphonia and what he told me was that his guy in Chicago had my phone and it wouldn't be ready until that Monday so after the weekend. I asked him where at in Chicago and he did not tell me he just kept saying by Monday it would be ready. I explained to him that not only did he not get my permission to take my phone from the store where I had taken it to be fixed but he didn't get my permission to charge me for more work. he explained that this work would only cost 80$ more and half of the 80 he would cover. I return to the mall on Monday October 24th, asking if my phone had been finished the guy that had been helping me explained what he had told me once again saying that my phone was still not there and not ready and would be ready Wednesday. He offered to let me use his phone until Wednesday and assured me that by noon on that date my phone would be ready. I returned to the mall Thursday to get the phone he again said that my phone was still being worked on and that it was not ready and if he could please have more time. I told him that I wouldn't allow him to keep my phone a moment longer and that I felt that my phone had been stolen because they couldn't tell me where to pick it up from and they never had my permission in the first place to take it away from the store. My mom then walked in as I was speaking with the man and explained that my phone needed to be there at the mall before closing or she would make a police report. We came back to the mall that day the phone was there but was still not ready. We waited on them to put the screen back on. When they guy handed me my phone it would not turn on. When I brought my phone there it powered on just fine and I explained that to him. he claimed that if we could give him until that Monday it would be back powering on. Monday comes, there's still no power. I did get my phone and my money back that I had been charged. I then took it to Apple in Naperville that next day and they said that my connector board had been damaged and it was damaged beyond compare. Waist of time and I ended up spending more money then I would have had I went to apple from the beginning. Apple charges the same amount that Cellphonia Charges and they have warranty on their products when purchased from them. As where Cellphonia has a sign when you walk in the door that states "not responsible for any damaged that are made while repairing your phone, and they will not give you a refund." exchanges within like three day where apple has a year warranty !!! My biggest issue with them is when I left the store my phone was worst off then it was when I came and cost me money for their damages to my phone. read more
