This location used to be a provider Verizon wireless store for a number of years but recently, it switched to a regional chain of authorized stores, Cellular & More. I recently added my daughter's iPhone 5S to my plan. No problem. My ex-wife just dropped her iPhone into the toilet. Toast. I gave her an old phone and Cellular & More hooked her up pronto. Since 2011, the fine folks here treated me well and hooked me up with good quality smart phones (I am very happy with this second generation Motorola Droid Turbo 64 GB). I went in an ordered a new iPhone to add my girlfriend to my plan. Trever was helpful and got everything ordered. The tracking number I was sent didn't work, and then when I called to check in on it I was told they didn't know where the phone was. I went in afterwork and Craig told me it almost got thrown out with the trash.. He then told me we couldn't do the transfer because it would take too long and that I needed to buy more cloud space. But then after he left, the other guy said it was because there computers can't transfer that much and not because it would take too long. So one of them was wrong. I bought the phone and went the store down the street and they did the transfer for me without having to buy more cloud storage or anything. Go to the other store. read more

Terrible service! I purchased a phone online for store pick up and when I got to the store they had sold the phone to another customer. It was the last one of its kind and color. I agreed to take a different color but was informed that Id have to take it up with Verizon. Why would I have to correct their mistake? The associates working made no efforts to fix the issue with the exception of getting verizon on the phone. After 30 minutes on the phone the issues still wasn't resolved. 4 days later I am still trying to correct the mistake they made, trying to get my bill fixed and trying to get a new phone. I am unable to do anything because I already bought a phone they sold to someone else! It's bad business and its even more disappointing that nobody at this location tried to make it right. 3 teenagers running the place, smells like their smoking weed all day in the place. Told me 4 days in a row they were getting an iPhone in for me from another of there stores. On the 4th day they said they would order it and it would be in 3 days later. Typical low grade no service cell phone store, one of their cousins probably owns the place. If you value your time & not being run around by a gang of stoned teens do yourself a favor & go to a real Verizon corporate outlet not this low grade fake knock off. The one in Troy & in Royal Oak have everything in stock & know what they are doing. They flat out lied to me. My daughter's phone had died, so we went to this place. We bought a phone and renewed her contract, so they were happy and I thought we were, too. Unfortunately the phone started having problems within a week, so my daughter took it to her local Verizon store out of state. Sorry, they said, you bought this from a franchise, not a corporate store, and we don't cover those. This was despite that we'd been explicitly told that that was not the case when we bought the phone. It's a long and painful story involving more lying, bullying and at one point, listening to this franchise store hang up on the corporate customer service rep while we were on the phone together. Pretty ballsy, in my opinion. I think this store has since closed. I suspect its shoddy practices contributed to its demise. This is that little freestanding structure right before you get to strip-mall land when you're driving down Washtenaw from campus. These guys are UNBELIEVABLY honest, helpful, and not preoccupied with selling you something. Twice I've been in there and they've bent over backwards to give me information and assistance AFTER we had already established I could not buy anything from them because my plan was in a different area code. And once, when Verizon Wireless was being a jerk to me on the phone and not giving me what I wanted, they handled it in the store and got it for me! After grocery shopping next door, I decided on a whim to stop into this store to troubleshoot my Droid. I've had it about a year and for the majority of that time it's been defective. I walked up, explained my problem, and sat down to wait for maybe five to ten minutes before an associate was available to help. John Fillinger, God bless his soul, was completely friendly, helpful, and patient when I had to make a few calls to find out my Verizon password/pin that I had no previous knowledge of. Upon notifying me that I had an upgrade available, he gave me an AWESOME deal on an iPhone 4S that included a free case, screen protector, and car charger. Though he convinced me into buying the extended warranty he was honest - really had my best interest in mind as opposed to trying to make a few bucks. A few days later I called with a question and he was able to walk me through it. For anyone complaining about waiting times, the key is to go after 5 or 6 pm. The store is completely empty! This store has terrible customer service. I should have realized this the first day I was there, when there were multiple angry customers who needed to make returns or replace a phone and were told they could not or the charges would be outrageous. I went to return a $30 cell phone case and was told this was not possible, nor could I receive store credit. When I bought the case, I told the proprietor that I would likely return it. However, he failed to mention that after 2 weeks there is a "no return" policy. For a cell phone case? Is it going to go rotten? Is this store only about the bottom line? Worst customer service ever! He came in for a simple phone like a jitterbug and was smooth talked into a smartphone for $620 and then they wouldn't take it back. They have absolutely no remorse. I went swimming with my HTC Android in pocket, needless to say it was ruined. Arrived at Cellular and More in Ann Arbor and was serviced by Mike Bulger. Nice enough fella, he tried to get me an early upgrade and offered other options for a replacement phone. Wasn't due for the upgrade until later in the year so I purchased a loner phone (envy 2) for 100 bucks. After using the phone for less than a day found that the phone was faulty. (space, clr, n, and ok buttons not working properly). Called Mike up and informed him of this and that I want to return the phone. He said ok but I only would get half of my money back. He said they had strick policies on loner phones. I was never informed of any policy or was showed any policy on loner phones. I'm heading down there after work today to try and hash this out. The staff at this store is amazingly helpful. Several other reviews mention John already; I too was helped by John and was very happy with his knowledge, patience, and honesty. I was in the store long enough to see several of the other reps interact with customers and feel confident that these are people one would feel comfortable bringing questions and problems to. I was helped sympathetically through several long, complicated calls to customer service about an insurance issue, and also given really useful guidance about alternatives for replacing a phone when that fell through. I purchased an iphone in August for my wife only to find out she would rather keep the phone she has. I returned it to the store for a refund and was told that the refund would be a check from corporate and that there is a 35$ restocking fee. The check would be issued within 7 days. Well, That was on the 10th of August it has been 33 days and still no check. I have stopped in the store 5 times to find out what is going on. They keep giving me the run around. When I emailed Verizons customer service, they said that the money would come from Cellular and more and not Verizon corp. as it is an independant agent. They were not sure why I was given this misinformation. I am still persuing my refund. By the way I paid cash for the phone, next time I buy anything it will be with a credit card! read more

Cellular and More -- apparently, the definition of "More" includes fraud, misrepresentation, lying, disrespect, and inconceivably terrible management of customer service. Read the fine print on everything, no matter how friendly the sales guys are -- the manager apparently does not think that lying and misrepresenting the products that they sell you warrants an exception to the 14-day return policy. I have never once in my life been more shocked by a manager's greed and incompetence at understanding how his salesman lied about the product that they sold me -- a complete lack of concern about their own mistakes. Even if they lie to you about what the product is, you will not be seeing a refund if they can hide behind their pathetic return policy. This would be a great way to run a business...in Beirut. Avoid this pathetic store at all costs. It's not like it's hard to buy a cellphone anywhere else. I have never used Yelp before and don't ever even remember complaining about customer service in 30 years of buying things and occasionally returning them -- because ordinarily, no matter the business, no matter the product, when a manager understands that the salesperson messed up and misrepresented the product being sold, they want to make the situation right. Fraud is *usually* -- and I really mean 100% percent of the time -- a reasonable *exception* to a 14-day return policy. This was literally the worst customer experience of my life. I have to echo Dave S.'s review THE INTRO My wife's old phone was on the fritz, but her 2-year contract was not up for renewal for another month. Best Buy told us that Verizon does not allow them to renew the contract early, so we went to Cellular & More (which we thought was a Verizon store) in order to see what they could do. The sales rep provided a novel solution to our problem, and I was happy with the fact that we could get the wife a new phone before the end of her two-year contract. THE RUB The sales rep then offered us the phone insurance, which I am always keen to purchase. I have purchased Black Tie from Best Buy for all my phones before, and this would be no exception with regard to the purchase of phone insurance. The sales rep explained the terms of the insurance, and I was comfortable with the price ($140) even though we had to pay it all up front because Black Tie is $10/month (x 24 months = $240). I was saving $100, right? WRONG. Less than 14 days later, the screen on my wife's phone was cracked (single hairline). We took it in to the store, and they directed us to call the insurance company. We did so. They called back and informed us that we would have to pay a $125 deductible for the replacement phone!!! THIS DEDUCTIBLE WAS NEVER MENTIONED AT THE POINT OF SALE. NOT ONCE. Hoping the best, I inquired further about the deductible and found out that it is NOT A ONE-TIME DEDUCTIBLE; it is $125 per incident, meaning that anything more than one issue with the phone would be more expensive than Best Buy's Black Tie service. THE MEETING I went to Cellular & More to speak with the store manager. I explained the situation fully. I said that I wanted to be returned to the place where I would have made the decision not the buy the insurance, meaning I wanted a phone that was not broken and I wanted to not pay $140 for the insurance. He said that he was unable to take back the phone (even though it was within the 14 day return period) because it was broken. After some discussion, he agreed to refund the $140 for the insurance. I argued that I also should be given a phone to replace the one that was broken because if I had been fully informed from the point of sale, I would have purchased the phone and then immediately gone to Best Buy to purchase the Black Tie service so that the phone was covered if damaged. He said that the purchase (and misinformation) associated with the insurance was a separate issue from the purchase of the phone and was therefore unwilling to replace the phone. THE END Now, I have a damaged (but functional) phone with no insurance. I will not shop at Cellular & More again because of their unwillingness to satisfy their customer in light of a gross failure on the part of one of their sales reps to divulge the exact properties of their phone insurance. They are willing to go into as much or as little detail as necessary to meet your needs. They'll do everything required to make sure you're comfortable with the operation of your new phone. John Fillinger assisted with my most recent purchase, a 32Gb iPhone 4S. The 32Gb phone wasn't in stock that day but John turned a projected 3 day turnaround into an overnight delivery. He took me through setup, transferred all my contacts, connected me to my email account and answered all my questions on phone operation. All you need to know about this dishonest store and manager is that they deleted my review from this page, when all I did was describe in truthful and honest detail exactly how they treated me. When a salesperson makes a mistake and makes a very specific guarantee about the product that turns out to be false, and you did not *open* the box until after the 14-day return policy had expired (and for good reason!), and when you open the box and find out that the salesperson had made a misinformed (and good faith) mistake - you would expect the manager to accept the return, wouldn't you? In all businesses I have ever been to, the answer is yes. When a salesperson makes a mistake and sells you a product based on a false assurance, the manager says, "yes, we have a 14-day return policy, but when it's our mistake we will happily take the product back to make this right." Or, instead, at Cellular and More, you are treated with the most shocking degree of disrespect, and a complete lack of concern at all about the mistake. The manager just literally did not care that they had sold me a product based on a false assurance. They didn't care at all, and didn't treat me with any degree of respect that you would expect from a business. I would expect better customer service than this at 7-11! It was literally the most shockingly rude treatment I have ever experienced. But go ahead, delete this review again. I'm not sure how it's fair to delete reviews that truthfully describe how the manager treats customers at this store. Maybe the problem last time was that I called them liars. The salesperson didn't lie on purpose. He tried to do his job.
