I am new to Providence, and recently purchased a new iPhone 6. I cracked a portion of the screen, and foolishly took it to BuyCellFix in North Providence to have the screen replaced. I was told it would be no problem to replace and take about 15-20 minutes. Sounded good to me, as I have had screens replaced in the past on other iphones while I was living in Pennsylvania. WORST MISTAKE I EVER MADE. The woman working there was the very epitome of incompetence. They take your phone behind a curtain to work on it so you can't see what they are doing. Why on earth would anyone do that? After spending 2.5 hours there, I was handed back my phone in literally 2 pieces. She had lost screws, bent brackets, and stripped another screw. Was unable to put my phone back together, rendering the device virtually useless. I am on the road for work everyday and use my phone constantly for calls, emails, and GPS. Not having a functioning phone is not an option. So, after 2.5 hours, wasting my time, breaking my phone, she had the gaul to ask me HOW I'D BE PAYING FOR THE SCREEN SHE DIDN'T REPLACE NOR FIX!! Absolutely unreal. She then suggested I take my phone to Cellular-Medic since she knows they do good work. I frantically called over to Cellular-Medic (from my fiance's phone) and the gentleman on the phone told me he'd do his best to fix her mistakes and to bring it right over. I did, and it was a fantastic experience. They pointed out to me all the screws she had lost, and damage she had done. They had an abundance of spare parts there, and replaced all missing components and fixed my phone as good as new, FOR FREE. The only thing I paid for was the glass cover I had purchased for the new screen. I needed my phone to get to work in Boston later on, so they literally saved the day for me. I can't express how much I appreciate their work. They were so nice and professional there. They worked on my phone right in front of me at the counter so I could watch everything instead of going behind a curtain to hide incompetence like at buycellfix. If and when I ever need any iPhone service again I will absolutely 100% be going back to Cellular-Medic. I wish I could give them more stars on here. read more

VERY rude. I called to get a quote on an iPhone 6 screen repair. He told me $115 plus tax. I was like "okay you have good Yelp reviews." My next question was where they got the the iPhone glass from and if it passed the water drop test... For everyone who's wonder this as well: 1) He efused to answer where he got the glass from and tried distracting me by saying the LCD they use is authentic and you won't ever get original iPhone glass....(i.e. He buys cheap China glass and try's to sell it to you as "high quality" glass that has served 250 customers and he has never had a complaint.) 2) He had NO idea what the water drop test was. I explained to him when high quality iPhone glass has water dropped on it the water will bead and roll off. (Let me say I had already called one place in Johnston before this that was much nicer, further away, and much cheaper ($100-30 day warranty, which is much better than $115-90 day warranty from some con-artist who doesn't care about his customer) this guy in Johnston very kindly took the time to see what the water drop test was - explained to me what he saw and said that if anything happened he would take care of me. He also honestly told me that the glass they use was made in then USA (I won't give the name out of respect to the other company) the guy in Johnston ALSO didn't know what the water-drop test was but still kindly said he would try and see what I was talking about) 3) This company is so arrogant. Telling me (we have the best Yelp reviews and "PSSHH'd" me when I asked for the test saying "PSSSHH! I'm not doing that the our glass no I don't even know this water drop test no one has ever asked me for it. Long story short - I could go on for a while about this cocky boy who works here but you know what....I won't give him my time of day....clearly he doesn't know what good customer service is and to be honest with all of you.....He knew what the water drop test was....I've been to him before with my iPhone 4 and we talk for a while about it.... i would highly recommend cellular medic to anyone. i have been having issues with my iphone 4, and was not sure what to do about it. i looked up phone repair in my area and found them, and saw the good reviews. I went in today, hoping to see if they could at least figure out the issue with the phone and get an estimate of how much it would cost to fix it. I was attended right away, and the employee told me right off that it was a screen issue and i just needed to replace the screen. i was a little skeptical because everyone who i had told of the issues had never seen this problem before, so i was surprised it could be something so simple. The employee then showed me another phone they were working on, which had the same screen issues. I was told that they could fix the screen for 70 and it would take around 30 minutes. I was very happy with the service and will return there if i ever have any other phone issues. read more

I went into this store in September because I broke something internally in my screen on my iPhone 5s and they replaced the screen just fine for me for $115. This screen even came with a 90 day warranty which I thought was excellent. That was until today when I had to replace my screen (from this store) again because it started to show weird black patches and a faded grey line on my screen. Because it was under my 90 day warranty, they replaced it at no charge, but unfortunately informed me that this new screen is only protected for the 90 days from original purchase. Warranties protect customers from scams and bad products so the warranty should cover the new installed screen that needed to be replaced because of their mishap however it seems this company is scamming people to make money on replacing screens unnecessarily. When I questioned the employee at the counter about this being completely backwards the store owner chimed in from behind the wall to tell me the warranty only covers from original date purchased, not the date I receive a new product from them, at their fault, not me as the customer. They also offered me a measly 10% discount for a new purchase should this "new" replacement screen crap out on me again. Since by that time it would conveniently be after their replacement fails to work. I would not recommend this business to anyone and wish I was informed about this scammer warranty prior to giving them my business because I would have absolutely gone elsewhere. You're better off with a broken phone than going to this store. You have been warned. read more

I am 43 years old and have owned my own masonry company for 18 years and counting. In that time I have worked for homeowners, architects, building contractors, wholesale and retail suppliers, etc. I only say this because customer service is at the core of my business the same as any other "consumer" based business is. I could be the most talented mason in the world and do terrific work but none of that matters if I don't guarantee my work. Customers need to trust that if anything goes wrong only 3 weeks after I complete the work I was PAID for that I will do anything required to correct the problem at no cost to them. Giving a warranty for work you do means nothing if you have no pride in the work you do. It just becomes a loophole you hide behind. Having said that, 30 or so days ago I paid Cellular Medic $100 to replace a cracked iPhone screen. I left their business extremely satisfied, especially because my phone has a ton of business information on it that would be difficult and time consuming to get again. The price, speed, professionalism, honestly everything was just fantastic. I recommended them to a few people. Two of which i know went there to have parts fixed. Now i regret it, I called today because late last night the screen died while I was checking emails. The phone was still on because Pandora via Bluetooth was still playing on stereo. Knowing it was way after closing hours I figured I'd hold power and home button down to reset phone software. It was my hope it was only a software issue. While holding both buttons down the top of screen cracked just below power button. When I called today I was told rather quickly that they wouldn't do anything for me because screen manufacturer won't replace a cracked screen and that they ( cellular medic ) won't replace it because it would be at their cost. But "I" could pay them again to REFIX it. Seriously? Give you more money? I'm suppose to pay them again to fix a problem caused by nothing I did. And full price, didn't even offer to just charge for parts. And to be disrespectful on top of it is almost disgusting to me. In my opinion just a horrible company. Its not even just about the money, its more about not backing your work. Why give a warranty at all if you have no intention of honoring it. Instead say " if anything happens we're going to play the blame game and give you a attitude while doing it because it can't possibly be our fault because we never make mistakes like literally every other person who has ever lived has. Its not possible we messed up. " So be careful when deciding where to go for your repairs. Hope this helped someone even a little. read more

My screen was shattered to the extent where little glass pieces were falling out l. I couldn't swipe, make calls, nothing. Came here to fix it & was in & out in less than 20 minutes. Yes. LESS than 20 minutes. 130 dollars later & my phone looks as good as new. 4 stars though because there is 0 parking. If you're lucky you'll find a space on the street. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would - but hear me out. I was in the hospital and my screen broke while I was there. Obviously I needed my cell phone, but I live over an hour away so I had my sister go here to replace the screen. It was an easy fix and not as expensive as insurance, so that was great! Upon receiving my phone back after a quick hour, which again is great, I found that my speaker didn't work! I couldn't go back immediately because I was in the hospital for some time, but they have a 90 day warranty, so it shouldn't be an issue. However, upon talking to the owner in the Randolph location (since that's closest to where I live), they refuse to fix the issue they caused. I went in with a cracked screen and left with a phone that I can't make calls on without putting everything on speaker or using headphones. They had good customer service when it was initially brought to them, but won't own up to their mistake or honor their OWN 90 day warranty!!! read more

Worst place to go to. They do a crappy job and don't stand behind their product. The day my phone was repaired it broke again and they wouldn't fix it. So I had to go to another store and found out they forgot to connect some pieces and finish putting in all the screws hence the reason why it broke again read more

I am here at Cellular-Medic with my iPhone4 with a cracked screen in need of replacement. I called ahead for info and was greeted by a courteous young man who was very reassuring. Upon entering the establishment, he efficiently assess the situation and got to work. I was assured that in 30 minutes that my life-line will be as good as new. So far, so good! I am very pleased with the service and am just holding off on the last star until the shiny almost-new phone has been road-tested. I went to this store twice in one month both times my screen cracked and popped out of my phone. I highly recommend not going here the service seems good but they "fix" it so your phone screen breaks and you need to go back. Also, it is a third party so any repair done here cannot be fixed after at Apple stores etc. My suggestion is to save your money and time and stay away from this "repair store". I just got my iPhone 4S front and rear glass replaced by these people last night and I was greatly impressed. This vendor is cheaper than their competition, all while using original parts, which most competition is using chep parts from china. I came in for a microphone replacement and it took some time for the part to come in and the owner Eli was very diligent about getting it to me when the wrong part arrived. He went himself to go pick up the part it needed and the pricing was great. I noticed a crack in the front screen of my phone when he was done and he said it wasn't their fault but I was positive that it wasn't like that when I brought it in (I checked to make sure something like that didn't happen) and though he gave me a little push-back, he offered to repair my screen at no cost. I took away one star because I did a lot of waiting and because I felt like he was calling me a liar when I pointed out the crack on my front screen, but I would definitely return because these guys hold themselves accountable for their work and very reasonable on prices- also conveniently located and overall friendly. I feel like under usual circumstances, they're remarkably fast, in at 2 and done by 7 latest... Give them a shot! read more
