Course was fun even if soaking wet. Greens were firm and rolled great. Traps easy to play out of. Had a great time. Didnt score well but im used to dry and fast courses in Vegas. Staff was nice and pleasant. Had a beer in the bar afterwards. Just a great place, glad to see its still running good after 30 years.

They allowed the group ahead of us to play with five people. When I went in at the turn to ask why, they denied permitting it.. I'm pretty confident my foursome each know how to count to five, especially since we got to watch them tee off on virtually every hole on the front. On top of that $91 for 18 and a cart with no senior discount is ridiculous for a course like this. In the last couple weeks, we've played Wildwood and Chehalem for significantly less cost with significantly better experiences on the course. I don't ever plan to play there again after years going there...

Once it was our turn for Axe Throwing, the employee explained the rules and for four people we had two lanes. My kiddos of varying ages all had so much fun. Afterward, the employee offered to take pictures of us, which I appreciated. We had a great experience and found them on Groupon, so we will eventually be going again and I can't wait!

I rarely see people golfing, and I've walked this trail a dozen times, I saw golfers twice. The Fanno Creek Regional trail at Garden Home is incredibly cute, scenic and relaxing. I always see bunnies! However, the PORTLAND GOLF CLUB HAS TAKEN AWAY FROM THE BEAUTY! Please see the photos of the signs showing the big ugly dark tarps they put on the fence! They're literally blocking the sun from our view! Parts of the trail are dark and tunnel like even on sunny days, because of their ridiculous tarp. Are us walkers that much of an eye sore? It's families, seniors, kids, people walking their pups! There are are no tents, no homeless people, no drug activity, no trash on the trail. But as if that was not enough, "they want to destroy the wetland, eliminate wildlife habitat, create an eyesore, alter storm water flow and potentially contaminate Fanno Creek." I believe he is the all-time major championship winner with 21 not Jack - with all respect to Jack. This is hallowed ground for golf nuts. The courses are amazing. One private. One public. Call a friend who can get you out on Witch Hollow. This place is a golfer's paradise. It's a golf club not a country club if you're following me... Anyone visiting the Portland area it's a must play - and when you're done take the long track down to Bandon after. Another gem in the state of Oregon. Both Pumkin tracks have received "best of" awards for public and private courses and only 20 minutes from downtown Portland.

In almost every way, they're basically on opposite sides of the planet. My family isn't comprised of avid golfers, but they're really enjoying having some nine-hole courses around to polish up their game. No use bothering far better players getting in a full 18 at the Reserve, Pumpkin Ridge or out on the coast if you can be out there with folks at your skill level for half the time. It's been mentioned before that McKay is by no means easy, and I'll agree with that. As simple as it is to pay and navigate the course even the Par 3 greens can be a bit of a challenge. At least it looks as green and glorious as Pumpkin Ridge back here, if a bit light on the amenities (go ahead and BYO everything). But for the lack of expense and the well-maintained course and pace of play--and clientele that's actually here to have fun and play golf and not, like some neighboring courses, to air their grievances with the world and show everyone just how backward they can be--McKay Creek is well worth even a novice's time. Kudos for providing a driving range that isn't TopGolf.
