I'm a crusty ol' Gen Exer, and this might possibly be one of THE tippy top most fun things I've ever done in my life... And I've had a lot of fun, let me tell you! I was absolutely giddy! I don't think I've seen myself laugh and smile for such an extended period of time in a very long time. We did the 45 minute, extra intense I Saw Red room. We got to smash tubs of bottles, plates, random electronics, and kitchen items, and at the very end we got to smash an entire window pane as the grand finale. Jesse was working in the front desk and he was a really great guy, kind of reminded me of a young Sylvester Stallone. Everything was totally chill, and it was just absolutely incredible! Not only was I throwing stuff, I was smashing things on the ground, with a baseball bat, a hammer, a wrench, etc. And I was throwing massive punches at a dummy, which was really a good time! I seriously worked up a sweat! My husband had a great time too, whenever I would let him take a turn that is :-) This was better than working out with a personal trainer at the gym (which I've done many times). I'm working on a video to post... But for now here are a few of photos... We will absolutely be back! If even just for the smaller 30-minute one or two bucket session. Forget wining , and dining... This is my idea of a really good time!!! Truly, I have found my happy place! The building itself is a little odd to get too but once we figured out you have to park around back it was fine. They were quick to help us get our safety gear on and they provide lockers for your valuables. We were brought in and they went over a couple of rules and offered music. We had a bucket of various glass items like cookware. A bucket of glass bottles. A tv, speaker and space heater were also provided. To smash there were two crowbars, two bats and a sledgehammer. We were in the paint room so we also got to write on the walls. We finished with mint 25 minutes but had the room booked for 45. We asked on our way out if we could bring our own items next time and they had no problem with that. It was a great time!

So just know that you may have to look a little bit harder to find a spot when it's busier. It's nice though since parking is free in this area. The overall staff this venue were really nice and helpful. There is food and drinks available and prices are typical of theaters. The theater itself is quite large inside. The seats are roomy with legroom available.

I was assaulted during a show at the Alberta Rose, and the staff did nothing to insure my safety…read moreand let my assaulter continue to watch the show in peace and even kept her from speaking with the police, who wanted to question her. This was a show that I'd been looking forward to for 4.5 months, since I'd bought the tickets then, and spent over $100 on them. The assaulter/woman, was seated at least two feet behind me said clearly "this woman's hair is all over in my space". Then I heard a rip and sharp pain, and my hair had been torn out. A big huge part of it, to where I was bleeding and bald in a patch. I told her she ripped out my hair, and she said "your hair was in my space; it was an accident". My husband heard this too. The staff at Alberta Rose knowing I was bleeding and hurt, gave me an ice pack and moved my husband and I outside the theater area to stools in the bar, which is outside the theater area. That's all they were willing to do. The woman who assaulted me was free to watch the show in peace. I called the police, but the staff of Alberta Rose kept reinforcing to them that the woman who assaulted me and her friends had a different story. The friends and my assaulter said my hair got caught in my seat; there was no assault. Hearing this, as well as there are no cameras in the theater, the police didn't even bother to speak with the women, or her friends. If the Alberta Rose Theater staff had brought out the assaulter, as the police had initially asked, before the staff was so dismissive, everyone would've clearly seen that the area of my hair that was pulled out, is a layered area, and it's only about a foot-long. It is impossible for it to have gotten caught in my seat. I was too upset to realize and point this out at the time. The police did get a picture of my bloody head, and were taking this situation and assault seriously prior to the staff being so dismissive. Besides the shock and pain, another reason I was so upset is that the woman who attacked me was still in the theater, behind my family, who I was no longer able to sit or be with. Even worse the staff wouldn't even let me back in to see my family after the show was done. I didn't even see the show, and the artist I hold so dearly in my heart, at all after the assault. She's literally of my favorite artists. This was my fourth show at The Alberta Rose, in so many months. I'm still in a lot of pain nearly 2 hours later. And my assaulter was just allowed to walk away. Alberta rose has been one of my favorite places in Portland. Now I'm sitting in my driveway at home in tears over what happened to me, without their keeping me safe, or defending me in any kind of way.

We arrived as early as was recommended and found parking to be easy and affordable in the adjacent lot. There is also street parking. There are restaurants in the vicinity too, so make a night of it! We were in attendance on a fairly warm evening but the AC in the building kept up and kept temperatures comfortable. The bathrooms are downstairs, but the building has ramps and an elevator to accommodate wheelchair and mobility needs. When choosing a seat section online, I wasn't sure what to expect. Fortunately, there wasn't a bad seat in the house. The seats to the side are only a bit to the side. There are maybe 12 rows in the whole place, so even in the back, you can see and hear well. There were snacks and drinks available for purchase, and also a place to fill water bottles if you brought your own. The church pews aren't the most comfortable to sit on, but they are cushioned and manageable. We really enjoyed the experience at the Old Church and would not hesitate to go back or recommend it to anyone.

As a woman of Nimiipuu (Nez Perce) and Greek parents, I was truly excited to see this production. It was well publicized on social media, so I shared out and encouraged friends to join me. It's opening weekend, and I attended the Sunday matinee to attend the opening speech given by Nimiipuu artist, Kellen Trenel, responsible for costumes and set design. His talents stem from generations of traditional beadwork, weaving, and design. The collage of personal, familial, and upcycled modern pieces were evident and truly added a special touch. The setting is small and intimate, but if I'd offer any suggestions, it would be to provide a mic for any Q&A. The story was comedic at times, and made you pause to really absorb the message. The ending packed a punch and brought tears to my eyes! Hats off to all who were involved in bringing this moving play to the area. Hillsboro is a beautiful town that I've not visited, but am glad to have had the opportunity to see more of the region.

My office is in Hillsboro and I live in Beaverton so this is truly a perfect location for me to see a show. The location is also grand when you consider how many great spots are available for getting food before the show or late night places for after the show. The parking is not ideal, especially if you have mobility issues. The parking is also not horrible - you will likely be a few blocks away so you are going to want to plan accordingly. Downtown Hillsboro does become a ghost town after 7pm so you can leisurely walk back to your car after the show. When you walk into the space it seems fairly small based on the lobby. This is just where you check in and grab some wine. The theater itself is a nice layout although you will want to be mindful to go to your right and sit far right if you are in need of a restroom a lot or else you may get stuck. There is not a bad seat in the house from what I could see. The stage and audience seating proximity is pretty perfect and the theater has a very open feel to it so I never felt cramped or like the air was stagnant etc. This is just a great place to see something unique. If A Clockwork Orange is any indication of the quality of shows put on at the Vault - I can't wait to see another show here.

I've never failed to escape before, but this one got us! We were literally one or two steps away when the clock ran out. It was frustrating, but at the same time, incredibly entertaining. I have to admit, I felt like I let my son down because he was really hoping we'd beat it. When you're paying for an escape room, it definitely stings a little when you don't make it out. But honestly, that's part of what makes it such a great experience it leaves you wanting another shot. Pro tip: Bring four or five people if you can. There are so many clues, puzzles, and different things happening at once that having extra sets of eyes makes a huge difference. It's easy to lose time chasing the wrong clue or overlooking something that's right in front of you. Escapology in Clackamas/Happy Valley is top-notch. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and full of creative, immersive rooms with different themes and adventures. The puzzles are clever, the atmosphere pulls you in, and the whole experience keeps you engaged from start to finish. Yes, it's a little on the pricey side, but you only live once. It's a fantastic activity for families, friends, date nights, birthdays, or team-building. Even if you don't escape, you'll leave talking about the experience and laughing over everything you missed. The decor is great and sets a fun vibe. The party room is good sized and has lots of decorations already there which is super helpful.
