My family's been out here for more than a decade and I've been out here permanently for a bit of a while now. Just based on the dearth of activities for kids of a certain age out here, I know airsoft was going to come into the equation. I used to take the family's terrible 1983 Ford F-250 to the auto repair shop around the corner (now gone), and always wondered how this place was. Answer: A very mixed bag. First off, I want to thank the staff up front who was great with helping me out on this first trip. I'd done a lot of paintball back east, but hadn't had much experience with airsoft. They made sure I was all taken care of and wasn't going to be in a position where I got hurt or hurt someone else. If this was just a shop? Five stars. But the playing field itself? Absolute clown show. You run into the same issues in paintball: Either the worst players from CoD in meatbag form or guys who just want to show off for people they think are military. If you have good refs, you can negate their impact and most of you will have a good time. If your ref is one guy who's, I don't know, asleep half the time or down the block playing pinball, it's going to be miserable for everyone but the biggest assholes. First off, the mounted lights: You know you get to shine that shit in people faces exactly once before they figure it out and do something you don't like, right? Second, the squatters: Oh, you're just going to sit there and pick off people as they come out of exits? Fine... you get that once, too. Finally, the level of carny-bred bumpkin who doesn't know that bending the rules is going to be met with more bending of the rules and cheaters are suddenly going to run crying to a referee who, as mentioned before, either doesn't care or doesn't exist. Other than the schadenfreude that came during that last game, I didn't enjoy much of the time in the arena. This place treats it like an ATM and an afterthought, and I'd be really surprised if there aren't hands thrown here on weekends. I genuinely worry that this part of Washington County is starting to frown on things like this, so I don't want to be too harsh to the business. But when I see how packed the arcade/"museum" lot is compared to this place... and read the experiences of others... I get the feeling it just might end up downsizing to a shop after all. read more

I coach a lot and I always end up here for out team builders. This place is great for groups and team events. The staff is top tier and I have enjoyed the sense of community and patriotism here over the years. The owner is a great man and does a lot to help youth sports! Stay blessed. read more

This place is amazing!! If you like cheaters and ref(s) who align with the regulars (who seem to always be put on the same time.). Don't get me wrong, the arena is awesome; yes, it has its some dark corners (but what building(s) / alley(s) do not.). The ref(s) and the cheaters... Sorry, regulars ruined the whole experience. Don't waste your time or money. You will get swindled because you will always be on the "other" team and the regulars will always be on "THEIR" team. I am 99.9% sure that the regulars are either current, or former employees (in good standing) of this establishment. Only other arena(s) I know of, apparently is/are in Salem (I will eventually go there, but the drive from Vanc to Sal is rough.). I will never again be a patron to this establishment. I swear, the regulars are employees or former employees (left on good terms) of this establishment. The best part of my visit there, the internal staff. Absolutely amazing. Very knowledgeable and very helpful. Kudos to the internal staff. The "external" staff (the "regulars, and the refs") eat a dick. It is you lot that is ruining such a great experience for people. Absolute shit customer service, I got sold a gun that doesn't work, a battery not compatible with said gun, then when I wrote a review on Google the owner lied and put the blame on me, I am obviously inexperienced with airsoft and the salesman behind the counter took advantage of that because money wasn't an issue, but I ended up having a pretty shitty birthday once I realized nothing that the salesman insisted on selling me worked. I called the store and was told that I should've noticed when he was selling me a battery that didn't work..... excuse me???? The salesman test fired it, knew which battery fits and makes the gun funtion, yet he sold me a battery that was too big for my stock, too high voltage, and not even the same kind of connector. ABSOLUTELY AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. Drive the extra distance and go to thunderkiss NW. They have better prices, much better customer service. read more

The place is nice when it comes to general airsoft products and etc. When it comes to playing and being in the arena, it's so dark you cannot see and if you aren't paying attention you'll run into your teammates by accident. The players on the opposing team can also be little cheaters lol, it's expecting in a community like this but when your walking back to your zone you wouldn't think you'd be getting shot at while walking away.. overall the experience is okay, but maybe if they had different groups for advanced players more would probably welcome themselves in. read more

Very disappointed, to sum it up in short this is the Autozone of airsoft shops, lots of flashy shiny crap, overpriced custom guns marked up well over a reasonable price, pretentious and just generally rude staff, wanted to shop around for an AEG for my wife the staff in the shop could care less about anything we had to ask far more invested in whatever was going on on their phones than the customers questions. Pricing/info was not printed boldly so you will struggle to read what the info card under each gun says and the staff will become extremely irritated with you asking "whats the price on that?" Or "may i hold that one?" Which is a little strange as thats the entire reason i came to a store in person rather than ordering from 1 of 100's online shops. I've only been/played here a few times with my son while he was attending birthday parties, but each time have found not only the store but the staff to be extremely well equipped and supplied. With Airsoft becoming increasingly popular and e-commerce sites offering everything g under the sun, this place offers an excellent alternative to those options as well as supporting local small business. Unfortunately for me but good for them, I foresee myself spending far too much of my paychecks here in the future! On a side note, this is also a great place to safely help anyone interested in safe and proper firearms use. The arena enforces fairly strict gun handling policies and has no issues with taking away arena privileges from anyone who chooses not to follow those rules. read more

It was a little over a year ago when I was alerted to the presence of Oregon Airsoft Arena. I was warned by my bank manager not to tread within the picture wrapped doors showing exciting scenes of camo clad men looming around looking very war like. But as my son was attending a birthday party there. And he was growing tired of nerf guns it was with gay abandon that I did disregard my manager of banking. And I entered the through the action packed doors and stepped with in that forboding place of bank managers woes! Inside, I did witness a store, a veritable candy store to delight and entice! The walls were covered with rows and rows of wonderful realistic replicas of their real steel counterparts. You can travel the world in this store with the vast array of bangsticks. From grenade launchers to rifles of various types to shotguns and pistols. You will find more here than you could ever need. No that is a lie! You can never have enough of these toys. And that is why my bank manager crys himself to sleep each and every night. But I digress, the staff, especially Cody and Terry, though I am sure all members are without doubt experts, But I found the staff to be both knowledgeable, approachable and after cross referencing their advise with other sources. Bang on or better than other advise I had received on the various topics I in investigated. I have bought other guns from online retailers and having issues and needing modifications, advise and replacement parts the staff happily offered and that provided success in my endeavours! I have since decided to invest in various systems and kit and regularly engage in many fun afternoons getting shot in the arena. The arena is large enough and filled with all manner of barricades and barrels. Staff members are pleasant and explain the rules and firmly enforce the rules for the safety of all. Making the sport as safe as it possibly can be and very fun. People of all ages attend and there is a polite and fun atmosphere in the arena. I am not a regular, or as regular as I would like to be. But I am treated as such and welcomed as is my son. And that means a lot nowadays. To know that you son is going to be looked after and safe. My recent purchase, a G&G CM16 2.0 E. Straight out of the box it functioned perfectly. They installed one of my batteries and tested it for power. Then advised me on the magazine included, that it was not the best and offered to swap it for another and also included a high capacity speed loader for free! This level of service advise and expertise I have not received in many stores if any. And that, dear reader, with all the above is the very reason I encourage you to ignore you bank managers heedings and visit this place of most wonderous delights. Rules are not enforced. There will be one or two people that will ruin the entire experience for everyone. When I was there there was two people that would camp the spawn and kill everyone before they can even get anywhere. Normally that in it's self is not that big a deal except one of the two that was camping spawn would never go out when shot. So even if you out gun him or outnumber him he will still be there at spawn shooting everyone as if he is invincible. He had his own gun and gear. Based on similar reviews I'm guessing he is a regular there. When he rarely did go out after being shot he would only walk half way to his spawn and then go back to playing. I wouldn't be surprised if he never when back to his spawn the entire game. My buddy who is a veteran marine who is very good at combat confronted him about how he plays and he said he doesn't feel any hits and even if he does get hit he says his gun is faster so he won't go out because he assumes he hit first. The rule is if both players get hit at relatively the same time then both are out. This is because It's hard to see every BB and when you have a bunch of armor on its hard to feel when you get hit. For this reason you need to call your shots and tell people when you hit them but this guy would not go out even if you tell him he is hit because he thinks his gun is better. Because of this blatant cheating everyone else there then starts not going out when hit. Because of body armor and cheaters calling your shots is critical. The arena is dark in a lot of places. If you don't bring your own gear the BB's are white non fluorescent. This makes it hard to see where your shots are landing so it's impossible to call your shots. I literally saw some one shoot the cheater and the guy called the hit and the cheater said no you are dry firing (no BB's coming out). I saw the BB's bounce off his body but because the shooter couldn't see it he believed the cheater and then thought his gun wasn't working. Tracer BB's are a must. You can't call your shots if you can't see them and your opponent is not going to go out if you don't call the shot. The other issue is flashlights. If you use a flashlight then this does make it easier to see your shots however for the person having the flashlight shined on them they can't see their shots hit. So if a cheater has a flashlight he can just shine his light at you and shoot you and even if you hit him he won't go out. You can't call the shot because you can't see the shot land even though you are aiming right at him. It all comes down poor enforcement of the rules. The ref is in a tower far from the action. He can see from cameras but I highly doubt he can see the plain white BB's that move very fast. Normally I play paintball and it's a much better experience. At the indoor paintball arenas that I have been to the refs are on the ground with you at multiple areas. Not in some tower away from the action. Paintball hurts a lot more when hit and leaves a visible paint mark. You won't see someone taking hundreds of hits from everyone and not go out in paintball. Even if someone was willing to do that the refs would call them out. This was my first time playing airsoft at a public arena so I'm not sure if this is just what the entire sport is like. If that's the case then I recommend doing paintball instead. If you must play airsoft at this place then I highly recommend tracer BB's so you can see your shots. You will have to bring your own gun and mag and buy the tracers. You will also have to call every shot immediately. read more

First i went there called them and asked if we can come in they said yes at anytime, we come in and they base it off sessions and we only got to play for 30 minutes, payed 80 dollars for 2 people and bbs were $20 for a small amount. Rules were not enforced people were sitting at spawn shooting us and we couldnt leave. We sat in the lobby more than we played it was way to overpriced. If you see this, drive out to salem airsoft. First off terrible customer service, I just started getting into the game and legit every other business and any player that deals with anything airsoft in Oregon has bad things to say about OAA (Oregon Airsoft Arena). Even they're own employees talk shit on they're own store. They sell bb's that are completely legal in they're arena but for some reason aren't allowed in they're arena. They try and sell you a 6 month membership that includes a dog tag with your player number on it, and they'll make you spend an extra dollar for a fucking chain to attach it too so you don't loose it, they also require you to show them that dog tag every time you play btw. Very easy to loose, and does not fit on a key chain. Overall the member ship is a joke. If you go to rent and play it'll cost you 45$ total your first time. You get unlimited bb's with a gun and a face mask. Now if you get the membership it will cost you 20$ to play, plus an arena fee of 5$ and you have to spend 25$ on a small refillable bottle of bbs on top of the 15$ membership you just bought. So in total it'll cost you 65 DOLLARS to play if you have your own gear for only 2 AND A HALF HOURS OF PLAY. The worst part about this place is if you go here and waste your money you'll still have no one to play with unless it's a specific day of the week or an event. I went here on a Friday night at 6pm with 2 of my friends. And literally no one else showed up to play. Pretty big bummer that more players that live in the Beaverton/Hillsboro area would rather drive out to Salem's indoor arena on a fucking Wednesday night than ever go back to OAA. Me and those same two friends went to the Salem indoor arena for a change and I swear to god 30 people showed up to play, all of which complaining about OAA. Only cost 20$ to play for 4 and a half hours in Salem, And 5$ for a bag of 5000 bb's. Whoever runs Oregon airsoft arena has no idea how to run or market a business, and has no idea how to create a solid supportive community for the game. Don't bother asking them for help with anything, they won't. Or they'll sigh and complain about your request. If I had to option to put negative stars I would. It's really disappointing that there is nothing closer to the Portland Beaverton area other than this shit hole. read more

They have a good collection different types of guns and accessories in the store, and I was told they can get me anything I need if they don't have it, and if there is a good reason why they don't have it they will give me their honest opinion on it. A smelly little place but boys love it. Gets them off video games and it's a pretty good exercise. You can rent everything. Just wear some protective clothes. They have a good selection of air soft equipment for sale also. There are not a lot of indoor arenas around so can't be too choosy. read more

I moved to Portland in April and wanted to pick up a new hobby so I went to Oregon airsoft arena. I had the best time. That day was a Wednesday at noon and it was SLOW. only me and one other guy so we 1v1d. I think his name was Jason, the staff member, felt bad that it was slow so he let me come back for a free hour when it got busier. That same guy helped recommend a grip, a trinity force raith red dot, and has answered questions for me when I give the store a call often. Another staff member and I have talked about shotguns and he helped me with my shotgun setup. The refs are cool. The layout always changes and the different game modes are a blast. Bomb is fantastic for R6 players. King of the hill. Domination. Zombies. TDM. I love coming here cause I know that the staff will treat players with courtesy and respect and are always there to help new players get kitted out and have a fun time. For pro players and vets this arena offers competitive speedqb as well. I went from a renter to an owner of 3 fantastic guns since April 2019. Fantastic arena. read more

We checked this place out to see if it would be fun for a birthday party. They seem to like to put new players all on the same team here and put them up against players that play a lot. We walked out and almost asked for a refund after the first match. Second match they brought two of the good players over to our team, but didn't put any new players on that team. This resulted in one team having a lot of targets, and really didn't make it fun. A birthday party could be fun if you can reserve the whole arena. I went to Oregon Airsoft Arena on May 29th, 2013 For 50 dollars, I got: - A bag of BBs, - A rifle rental, - Admission to the arena for 3 hours. Note: I already had my own mask ($5 to rent) and gloves, the latter of which I strongly recommend. You may buy gloves there or buy/bring your own. Gardening gloves would work fine, in my opinion. Pros: - You may shoot opponents at any range - Big arena - It was quick to get into a game, less than 10 minutes - Two staging areas - Water is .50 cents per bottle (12oz) - Staff seemed helpful to repair/examine other people's weapons - The arena feels like an aggressive speed-ball/scenario-ball arena (see paintball) - I was helped quickly when I felt my rental rifle's battery was dead - Arena veterans, about 80% of them 10-15 years old, were mostly cordial or polite. No problems with any players of any kind. - Fun places to hide - The "Medic!" scenario is fun. Cons: - You may be shot by opponents at any range. - No (free) water fountain - Terrible music is played during re-spawn death-matches. Playing country music and airsoft just didn't seem to mix in my opinion. - Pink rental rifles - Total cost to play is $55, if you are without a mask, airsoft rifle/pistol, and BBs. - At first the staff were inattentive. They did not ask myself or my friend if we have played airsoft before, how to operate the rental guns, or instructed us on general rules/gamplay. - Few defensive and/or hiding places. HEALTH HAZARD: If you have epilepsy consult your physician before playing airsoft in this arena. Exposure to certain patterns or backgrounds from flashing lights may trigger epileptic seizures or blackouts in an individual. - In this arena many players use weapon lights with a strobe or something close to a strobe function. Conclusion: - I thought this arena was quite fun, except for its unrealistic feel. Maybe a small area with a couch or something that resembles a room would be fun. - Within 3 hours I did not have a chance to fully explore every nook and cranny. - I only played team death-match and "Medic!". For a full list of scenarios/games refer to OAA's website. - Better music would be nice. Anything from video-game soundtracks, to ambient gunfire or music without words would be better. - If they continue to play country music during death-matches I might turn the rifle on myself mid-game. I've continued going for the last month. Staff have consistently been polite and personable. T Arena events are pretty hard and fast, and require a certain amount of honesty. I've read a number of google reviews now, and I feel like it's worth noting that staff will not take action on a single complaint, but will with multiples. They do pay attention to what's happening in the arena, but let's face it: It's a large, dark environment with lots of hidey holes. Everything isn't going to get dealt with; Play nice and play fair, and if someone isn't doing that, shoot them again. Some folks just get hung up. Anyway, I've had a lot of fun there and plan on continuing to go. It's good for groups and parties and they are very flexible. Give it a try. Edit: It's been a few months now, and they could have attempted to upsell me on the equipment I've bought, but they were remarkably honest about what gives the most return, what works well, and why. They probably could have convinced me to drop a few hundred more bucks for a different gun, or tried to persuade me how a tac vest would be great...but nothing. They answered my questions regarding gear, told me about some cheap solutions for issues using things I already had, and have been great in general. Love this place. Other players can be frustrating---yeah, show me a place where that *isn't* an annoyance, But that's unusual, and far from the norm. read more

We have had 3 experiences with various employees, including the owner, during visits with groups of 4-5 boys. We have received TOP QUALITY service, advice and assistance. Every single employee has gone above and beyond to take great care of me, my boys and their friends. I watch as they treat each and every adult and child with incredible respect. Not a bad introduction to the game! And there is more than airsoft! Staff is knowledgeable, which is good because there is a LOT of manufacturers offering all types of weapons to purchase. The facilities are impressive. It's a bit bigger than you think. LOTS of other options like laser tag for the really small kids. Nerf wars for the slightly older set (and maybe for us adults who are still big kids)! They also offer arrow wars. Imagine an arrow with a large foam tip being shot at ya! They offer a large lounge upstairs where those who aren't playing can watch the whole arena. Which also has ping pong, couches and other amenities. They have a few snack foods to offer, but remember if you play, you will get thirsty! Rental equipment is fair for what it is. I had a few problems, but they did get resolved before the end of the event which is awesome. Party prices were in my opinion cheap. Great place to Airsoft, but they are really restrictive and quite pricey for the amatuer airsofter. Entry to the arena: $15, required BB cost $15, Gun Rental cost $20, Mask rental cost $5. They told me no outside food or drink so bring extra money to cover water and snacks. Good guns for sale, not the best deals, but hey they fix their sold guns for no charge. 350 fps limit so bringing your own gun might be unlikely. Full auto not allowed. So disappointed, this was my first time here and will be my last. Do yourself a favor and stay far far away from here. No explanation of rules or gameplay. Teams were split 6 vs 3 the three was me and two young kids my guess 10 or under. Vs a group of 6 grown men. Seems fair to me right? Only my gun was chronod and that's because I asked because it was my first time there. Staff is pretty rude and unless you are a regular there you have to beg them to show you something or be able to ask a question. Not worth the money or drive. First time at Orgon Airsoft Arena. My son and I went to check it out and play for 1 hour. We rented the gun and protective gear. My gun would only shoot 2 to 3 time before getting jammed. I ask the staff in the arena for help and was told to get a different rental gun but the same thing happened. I asked a different staff person after the first game and they told me to just keep winding the clip. I had the same problems with the guns jamming for the next two games. I asked 4 different staff 6 times for help to get the gun to work but was always told to get a new gun or to wind the mag. At the end when I was returning my gear I told them that there may be something wrong with the mag and was told I need to ask for help next time which I had been doing all day. The staff did not seem interested in helping me to get my rental equitment working. They seemed like they just wanted to get me out of their hair or pass the problem to another staff member. It was a busy Sunday so that may have been some of it. My son had no problems with his gun or gear. I would not reconmend going here unless you alread have your own gear as it is hit and miss if the rental will work. read more
