So it was time to open up the pool, especially with the kids stuck inside due to Covid19. But my Hayward H400 heater won't light. IF error code. I call around (on a Sunday) and no one picks up. I finally try Celtic out in Oakland. "Ruairi" picks up the phone, but unfortunately he doesn't service my area. Still, he asked me about my problem and walked me through a potential fix (spider eggs in my gas orfices). He texted me a picture of tools I would need and even let me send him photos of my gas line which he used to helped me identify where my union joint was and what I needed to do to get to the manifold. Long story short, my kids are in the pool right now thanks to Ruairi's kindness to help a complete stranger for free. A+ read more

Working with Ruairi at Celtic pool has been an overall excellent experience. Ruairi, upgraded our pool in Piedmont to a salt water pool, adding variable speed pumps, computer control and increased the efficiency of our pool plumbing, which incorporates a roof mounted solar water system. If you had asked me earlier this year it would've been a five. But unfortunately for Ruairi (who we have been using for over five years), he decided to just stop service without telling me because he was pissed off about my installing pool equipment without telling him. I had to call him. I can understand his reaction. But his absolutely unprofessional behavior (acting like my three year old) means that everyone out there (including you four who like him) need to beware. We had a leak in our pool and couldn't identify the cause (we were actually hoping the H2O was evaporating faster due to global warming). I just continued to add water and figured that it's what happens with an older pool. As time went by, it became clear that our solution was expensive and that the problem cannot be blamed on the thinning ozone layer. We called Celtic Pool Service for help. Rauri is such a good person, and is really taking care of our pool equipment. We had issues with the new heater that wasn't working and he went to bat with the manufacturer to replace a that was out of warranty. He has fixed leaking joints on the equipment as well as rework our electrical box so that the pool runs more efficiently than how the original pool company had set up our equipment. I just moved into my new home which came with a hot tub, and it sprung a leak! I also wasn't sure how to best take care of it, so Ruairi came over, assessed the problem, took out an added valve that was broken, and gave me a good thirty minutes of advice on how to maintain my hot tub, when all I had asked for was to fix the leak! I have been highly impressed with Ruari since working with him the beginning of May this year. As a first time pool owner, Ruari took a lot of time explaining all that we needed to know about solar heating, salt conversion, energy savings, and more. Ruairi has been a Godsend!!! There are no words that can do justice to how I feel about Ruairi dba Celtic Pool Service. This very kind and unassuming man is truly a genius. After years of owning my pool and having a bunch of amateurs (who called themselves experts), mistreat my pool and provide bad pool care information, meeting Ruairi was a breath of fresh (not hot) air. He arrived (when he said he would), listened to me, then proceeded to assess, evaluate, analyze and diagnose the issues with my pool. There were problems with my pool's heater, problems with the spa jets, problems with the pool and spa lights, filtration issues and algae build up, just to name a few of the many issues. He clearly explained what my options were, to resolve the problems. For a reasonable price, HE FIXED IT ALL!!! He did what he said he would and, remained true to his word in every way.
