We are very pleased with our French Grey Pebble. The service was very good and the crew was legit. I appreciate they came back to check on the process after it was completed. Everything looks great.

We can't thank Malrie and Carlos enough for the wonderful work they did with our backyard renovation. The project was the biggest renovation that my husband and I have done together and Malrie and Carlos really made it come together with ease. We did a complete renovation of our pool, including switching it to salt water. We built a gas fire pit, pergola and outdoor kitchen with gas BBQ and replaced a wooden patio and aggregate stone around the pool with beautiful new coping and stamped concrete. We had a large side yard with grass that really had trouble growing due to shade. We moved the gas for our pool and hot tub over to the side of the house where we couldn't grow any grass and also removed a large additional piece of lawn and replaced it with stamped concrete and created our new outdoor living space. All of our plants were 30 to 40 years old and really needed to be replaced. Malrie helped me pick out all new plants for the entire backyard including lovely olive trees and tiny tower cypress trees. It's a true oasis with hummingbirds visiting already! Because we took the entire backyard down to dirt, there was a lot of design work that needed to happen and Mallory was a true artist. She helped pick all of the colors for the pool tile and plaster, stamped concrete, coping, stucco, concrete for the fire pit and outdoor kitchen and guided us through the full design with wonderful suggestions that we never would have thought of on our own. Malrie, Carlos and team worked very quickly over approximately three months (mid Sept to early Dec 2021) and we couldn't be happier with the end product. Due to all the rain recently, we still need to have our stamped concrete and the top of the fire pit and outdoor kitchen sealed, but we will do that in the spring when things dry up and warm up. I would highly recommend Arreola Landscaping and Pool Design for your next backyard or front yard renovation project. It was a real pleasure to work with Malrie and Carlos. Both were very responsive, thoughtful, and patient with us. Their team always took care to leave our front and backyard clean and tidy each day. I know our neighbors appreciate their care, too! Posting some pics of our wonderful outdoor living space!!

Malrie and Carlos were great to work with. They listen, really truly listen. Then, they follow through. My wife and I knew what we wanted and met with several contractors. Most pretended to listen, others attempted to push their ideas. Malrie is a great designer, she understood and fine tuned our design ideas and vision beyond our ability. Carlos was a master at turning our vision into a reality. Punctual, efficient and very professional. He runs a crew of good men. Their work speaks for itself. This was a large 1/3 acre backyard project. Arreola built or installed everything you see in the pictures (garage built by someone else). We would work with Malrie and Carlos in a heartbeat.

Like a lot of people during Covid we decided we wanted to completely redo our backyard and put in a swimming pool. The process was difficult as there were so many companies in the Bay Area to choose from. I reached out to about seven different companies and right away it was obvious that Arreola would be the right company for us. They were very good at getting back to me, answering any questions, and the communication was excellent. I like the way that the contract was laid out. It was easy to see every detail of work that was going to be completed. They started the work in November and was completed under three months. Their workmanship was excellent, and the cost was reasonable as well. If I had any questions or concerns, they addressed it immediately and we were able to move forward. I am so pleased with all the work that was done. They put in a brand new pool with a hot tub with an automatic cover, all new concrete hardscape, new fence with a beautiful gate, retaining wall, lights, trees and grass. Backyard looks unbelievable now. It's exactly what I dreamed I would have. I highly recommend this landscape\pool company! We spend so much more time now in the yard swimming, barbecuing and just enjoying our friends and family. Thank you Malrie and Carlos for making the process pleasing and I couldn't have asked for a better outcome!

Hello everyone we have done our pool and front yard with these guys we really love their work. Malory and Carols are great team to work with Malory (wife ) designs and Carlose ( husband) the hard working man to implement her design. We absolutely loved their work and them as good friends. they are family people who would understand what exactly you're talking about to make your dream landscaping come true and make you happy. Me and my husband looked for so many other companies before but we are so glad to go with these guys. Now are loving our backyard every time we spend time in there. We strongly recommend these guys to anyone and everyone. Thank you Malory and Carols

We worked with Malrie and Carlos for a complete renovation of our back and front yard, which included hardscape (concrete patio, pergola with a fan, DG, lighting / electrical, irrigation) and a lot of planting. It was truly a pleasure to work with them. From the beginning Malrie was very receptive to our vision, creating a design that incorporated what we wanted while also being realistic with us about what was feasible from a cost perspective, and worked closely with us to make sure everything came out the way we wanted. I also liked that, in the design phase, she provided options for us at different price ranges for various aspects of the project. She and Carlos were also really patient with us as we kept adding things to the project (including the front yard, which was not in the original plan!). Carlos and his construction team were also amazing. They showed up early every day and really went above and beyond. In fact, the project finished ahead of schedule. They felt like true partners and advisors for this project, which made the whole experience a delight (how many people can say that about a renovation??). In fact, my husband and I often say how we miss getting to see them so often now that the project is over :-) Both our front and back yard have gone from being a weed jungle to a joyful space and our house isn't the eyesore of our court anymore! Needless to say, 10/10 highly recommend.

We used Malerie and Carlos to do a full yard renovation including a pool, infinity edge spa, fire pit, trellis, hardscaping, front and all the landscaping. We could not be more thrilled with the results and the overall process. Everybody is so communicative and incredible to work with. We are thinking about new projects just to be able to work with them again and have referred them to other friends for their projects!

    a pool surrounded by trees

This is an artisanal pool and landscaping company, that turned an unused small side yard into a gorgeous pool and deck area. Malrie, the landscape designer, integrated my large rock collection (petrified wood, etc) into the planted areas, so it's not only gorgeous but also personal. The pool itself is a delight. The best thing about Malrie and Carlos is that they communicated with us frequently and were easy to reach. Even after all of the work was completed they called to see how everything was. I highly recommend them.

It's adjacent to Larkey Park, so if the shared parking lots get full, you'll find plenty of free street parking. The pool itself is divided into several section - beginners (3.5 to 4.5 feet max depth), diving, and for lap swimming. They have lifeguards everywhere and they do a fine job of maintaining order. The water temperature was perfect. Our 5yo son seems to have a natural inkling for water but he enjoyed the pool far more than the splash pad, which is also popular with young kids. I tried carrying him up on the water slide but he refused. Note: for taller folks, they have a pretty intense water spray on top of the slide that can blind you. Imagine max shower pressure right on your face, LOL! Other amenities are large locker and changing rooms with clean showers, small picnic areas for sun tanning or relaxing, and plenty of benches and tables to store your bags or snacks. They also have a vending machine for cold drinks. Definitely plan on returning when the pool opens up again (9/27/25 was the last day for the summer). A definite bargain at just over $20 for a family of three.

Also, we joined when we lived in Berkeley and about 5 years later we moved to Orinda. We find OPP to be a very laid back and friendly pool. It is also a really lovely place to spend time in the summer. The pool is absolutely perfect for young children (tons of shallow water), as well as swim team. There have been some ups and downs with a couple of lifeguards over the years, but for the most part the lifeguards are good. The current and previous managers are excellent. Most people are very friendly. I am sure a few are not, but I encountered so many self-righteous, angry people in my 15 years in Berkeley, and I can't say I've met one person like that in Orinda, especially at this pool. I can't believe a reviewer judged the entire pool environment - which includes hundreds of families - on one bitchy old lady who was stuck in the 18th century. I am sorry for that encounter, but in 13 years at the pool I have never encountered anyone like that, ever. I can say that I have probably driven into that parking lot at least 1,000 times (literally), and outside of swim meets, I think once or twice I could not find a place to park. If you have very small kids and expect a spot to be open for you right next to the entrance, that won't happen often when it is hot. (But where is there always convenient parking in the East Bay?). People like to complain about parking at the pool, but it really is not a serious problem unless it is one of the hottest days of the year. Swim team is an absolutely awesome way to spend the summer. No, it is not a competitive swimming program, and it is not advertised to be (it is clearly a summer recreational program with lots of social events), but my kids are very good swimmers and both are also on the Miramonte High School team. The kids on the OPP swim team who attend Berkeley High are some of the best swimmer on that high school team. There are about 300 kids on the team each year, so individual attention is usually not available during swim practices. You sign up for swim lessons with the coaches to get that individual attention and those lessons are generally fantastic. There have been two coaches in our 9 years (there are approximately 25 coaches each summer) that have not been super nice, one of whom was mentioned in another review. He is gone, and the other who was not patient was fired. I don't know why one reviewer said that only children of "parent volunteers" get attention. Honestly, that is not even possible. Every family has to volunteer (unless your kids are also working as coaches) every summer so every child is the child of a volunteer. Of course you get from it what you put into it. If you do a lot for the team and you and your kids are there frequently, you and your kids may feel more connection with the coaches. I have never, ever heard anything about the board being religious. Honestly, this seems like some paranoid conspiracy theory. I am sure a few attend church, but that does not mean that the pool is controlled by religious fanatics. Believe me, I would not be at this pool if that was the case! No one has ever tried to ban speedos or bikinis. That is ridiculous! Many of the boys wear them for swim team. I am sorry people have had to wait to get deposits returned. Please remember that membership, like many aspects of the pool, is run entirely by parent volunteers. I am sure those running membership were busy with their jobs and their children and your needs were not at the top of their priority list, which I suspect caused the delay in your check processing. We absolutely love OPP and I was so sad to see these mean spirited reviews.

We've been to Dublin Wave and Larkey Swim Center but I think San Ramon Aquatic Park takes the cake: 1. Low entry fee of $8/pp. Big, clean family room for changing along with showers. 2.
