Stay far away from them if you're not in a reasonable service area. They are an insurance claim chaser company and will step all over you to get at your payout. They sent different people out to inspect and provide quotes (gutter and soffits/fascia was the scope requested). I did not ask for a roof assessment but the gutter guy thought it might be eligible for an insurance replacement, so I said sure send the guy on out and let's see what happens. That's where it got really.... interesting. My first appointment was for a Friday. I asked for a specific time so I could manage my work schedule around the inspection. A time was agreed upon. Nobody showed up. I had to initiate contact to find out that they would not be coming that day due to the time/distance. We rescheduled and on the rescheduled date, I reached out early to confirm the time and was told the inspector would be 30min late. I readjusted my work calendar and was notified it would be an additional 15min. This turned out to very much work in my favor. The inspection was very thorough and took about 1.5hr. At the conclusion of the inspection I was told they can convince the insurance company to replace the roof. They showed me what ended up being a contract, but was not presented as such explicitly by name. I was asked to sign before they revealed the "fine print" on the back page - which involved having the insurance company sign the check over to Rex Roofing rather than me (I have USAA). This didn't sit well after discussing with several people and reviewing the fine print. I voided the contract within the 72 hour grace period so I can get a second opinion, gather additional quotes, and control my own insurance payout (if that happens). Instead of responding to me to confirm they received my email (always document in writing! With time stamps!) they forwarded it to the inspector who started texting me asking to "resolve" the situation. I explained, as I had in the email, that I would be taking my insurance payout myself and I requested a "cash price" quote from them. I was then told there was no way my insurance company would approve it without the inspector present, a number of wild assumptions and insinuations were made, and I was essentially berated by text by the salesman for exercising a legal right to void the contract. I had to block his number because he would not stop texting me to mansplain how I had no idea what I was doing as a homeowner and he was the only person who could convince my insurance adjuster to cover the roof. Turns out he was right - they talked me into opening a claim, the adjuster said the roof is perfectly fine and they would replace only one portion of one downspout that had hail damage. I can't tell you how the "value" of this company compares to others because they said they would do the work "for a price agreed upon with the insurance company" without providing a scope of work or any numbers of any kind in writing - so I guess they're not really interested in much besides doing the job for as much as they can squeeze out of the insurance company. I might not have made a USAA claim myself but everyone else in my family has.

I reached out for his opinion, and he was honest in what he thought would get the leak solved for the least cost. He suggested a patch and seal job would last at least half a decade, which fit our needs, but obviously a full replacement would be a more permanent solution. As we opted for the patch and seal, his team were quick to get the job done, and payment was super easy. Fast forward a few months to early May, when it's been raining nonstop the past few days, and no leaks! Of course, I hope the work they've done lasts longer than five years, but I know who to contact when I need it.

There were no structural issues with the roof and it is in excellent condition to my knowledge. The roof will likely be structurally sound for another 50 years. The Golden Sky Roofing inspector apparently noticed some cracked tiles, likely from someone walking on the roof, that do not impact the structural integrity of the roof. I believe it only impacts the cosmetics of the roof and there are spare tiles for such minor repairs. Golden Sky Roofing said the price estimate is $167,650.00...yes, you read that right, $167,650.00 because of some cosmetic cracks on the roof tiles. I have attached the estimate. Golden Sky Roofing even wants to replace the gutter system which is in excellent condition. Why would a roofing inspector provide such an outrageous price quote? You decide the answer, I think I know and will never have this roofing company anywhere close to my house.

But dealing with natural calamity related damage i.e. Hail Damage related repairs can be tough and mind boggling for any homeowner, especially if they don't know what to deal with. In August 2021 our home was affected by a hailstorm and our roof was heavily damaged. We had the opportunity to talk to quite a few Roofing companies and we ended up going with Golden Sky Roofing Company. The reason behind this is because the owner of the company, Rob Clement, was very thorough in explaining every single step. Didn't try to over-sell me anything, explained every single material and things that needed to be replaced very well. Well you might ask what's the difference, all the roofers would tell you the same thing. Well there are couple of things that stood out when I spoke to him and those are: 1. By the time my insurance approved everything, it was the middle of the winter! And Rob said that it's better to wait until the weather is warmer because then the shingles would stick to the roof well and would cure way better. So we waited and got our roof replaced in Spring. Also I've seen in my neighborhood, a couple of the houses replaced their roofing in the middle of the cold winter and as a result when there was a windstorm those roofs lost the shingle whereas these shingles are rated to survive 100+ miles per hour windstorms. 2. Constant communication throughout the whole process. 3. This part is my favorite, Level of Customer Service, when his crew were installing my roof, Rob made sure to go and talk to both of my neighbors and ensure proper cleanup was done on my neighbors property if there was any debris on their property. Fast forward to 2021 and we had a leak during a torrential downpour. We contacted Frailey and to our surprise, they asked to come out the next day to see the damage. It was determined that there was a flaw in an independent section of the roof over a window area. Rather than patch the area, Frailey recommended that the entire section be removed and replaced, which was done the following week. Additionally, they agreed to pay for the small area of drywall damage on the interior.
