Quick update: I took the wet specimen class with Erin last night and it was so, so fun! There was an assortment of reptiles and amphibians to choose from. Due to the size of the container I ended up choosing a beautiful baby snake that I thought would look just darling, and I was right. Erin was a phenomenal instructor and the sweetest soul. She walked us through how to prepare the specimen, how to source materials and specimens to DIY in the future, as well as how to get a taxidermy license if we felt inclined. I'm so happy with how my little guy (or gal?) turned out! I can't wait to take more classes to expand my knowledge (: I also picked up a pair of bone earrings (forgot to ask the name of the animal these came from) but they're GORGEOUS and only $25!! You'd easily be paying $80 on Etsy for the same thing. read more

I'm a simple man. I love comic books, horror, and taxidermy. You know what kind of place has all three of those things wrapped into one? CEMETERY PULP! My girlfriend accidentally stumbled across this place and we came the first day we both had off together, which just so happened to be Easter Sunday. We showed up around 2PM or so and were greeted by some of the friendliest shop owners I've had the pleasure of meeting. From the second you walk in you are surrounded by cool trinkets, top notch level taxidermy, jewelry, books, oddities, jarred wet specimen, and even furniture, and on top of it being filled with cool stuff, it's one of the best decorated stores I've ever been inside of, for real. Once you look through the oddities and such, the entire left wall is filled with a bunch of new comics from DC, Marvel, Image, and bunch of others just waiting to be read, plus, they carry both single issues as well as trades. Since it was Easter, we were also told at checkout that Easter eggs were hidden around the store so of course i found one, and inside was some homemade tattoo cream and bracelet, which is pretty awesome if you ask me. Not sold yet? Not only is this a cool place to shop, but they also have live bands and teach classes. On this specific day, they were teaching a bone cleaning/taxidermy style class. How cool is that? Overall, Cemetery Pulp will absolutely be a place I visit when I'm doing stuff on the east side. I love this place!! I always have the label of being "weird" and I'm the type of person to flaunt my weirdness. This place feels like home!! There's not many places like this and I come every once in a while to scout out what my next taxidermy piece will be. I legit drive across town to come here because again, there are not really any places like this place. Today I walked out with a taxidermy bat encased in a glass coffin. And since it's right around Christmas time we took some pictures with Krampus!! One day I will be doing their taxidermy class that they have as I genuinely want to learn how to taxidermy and do it on my own as a hobby. I cannot overstate how amazing this place is, it has so many amazing pieces and it can keep you engaged for hours. A husband and wife own it and we met the husband (wish I got his name) and he said his wife does most of the taxidermy. The kindness of the owner can't be matched nor can the love for the craft for which they've perfected! My friend bought two really great pieces and I got a candle that the owner made himself I just wanted to thank him for making our experience so amazing and having such patience with me as I jumped from jar to jar asking "oh what's this"? Went there last night for their Halloween Night Market event. The Night Market was underwhelming with very few vendors and only one food truck. The store itself is interesting. I always knew that there was something brewing over the past few years because beautiful things don't just happen overnight. I absolutely love cemetery pulp store front and when you walk inside you'll be amazed at the different items that you find.Items from taxidermy, homemade or even their personal collection for resale. I have a good grasp on how things are going because I was there the very first day and I was just there recently and I can't get over the amount of items they have and how it's beautifully set up. Take a little bit of time to be able to walk through and see everything but it's absolutely amazing store overall. Me and my girlfriend went to check out this oddities shop and upon walking in we greeted the gentleman at the register and received nothing but a silent stare and as we walked thru the store and tried to make conversation still nothing but when other shoppers walked in they were greeted. Went to this shop for a very cool adoption event! They had a ton of local alternative shops and artists there as well as a sword swallowing performer. Aside from the event, the shop is well stocked with oddities (bones, taxidermy, medical specimens), educational books, comic books, a live pet snake, and a ton of other amazing interesting finds. I would say pricing is pretty standard for an oddity shop, some things are rare and more expensive than other things are relatively inexpensive. I saw skulls going for at the lowest $20 and as much as $250 which is within reason for what they have. The owners seem very nice, it was pretty busy for event day so I didn't get a chance to speak with them though their signs are inviting. I would say the shop is clean but still hard to walk through as a disabled person which is my only complaint, I'm not sure how this store looks on an average day though so this could be an easy remedy. Overall this place is perfect for those who love the strange and unusual like myself with good prices and a lot to look at! read more

They are humble and genuinely care about their customers and their customer experience, and that's not often something you find here in Las Vegas.
