All of his staff and the anesthesiologist were just so comforting, making this experience seamless! I've never been put to sleep before- The anesthesiologist (Dr. Reynolds brother, I wish I could remember his name) mentioned that my voice sounded like Alicia Keys. So when they wheeled me into the operation room, he had her music playing lol! By the time they put me on the table, I was out within seconds. When I woke up, I asked them when they were going to start, yet they were already done lol. I felt completely normal waking up, not groggy or sick. Healing has gone so well for me and way easier than I though it was going to be! My incision was so nicely stitched up and I have great confidence that it will be super light once completely healed. I am only 3 weeks post op but I am so thrilled with the results and cannot wait to see the final outcome. The scar placement was spot on- should out to you Dr. Reynolds! The price point for this surgery with such a skilled surgeon was absolutely fair and worth every penny! After years of going up and down in weight, I am so excited to have all the extra skin removed from my arm! Thank you to the entire team, from start to finish!

As someone who has never had Botox, filler, Sculptra, or any cosmetic procedure before, I specifically chose to schedule consultations at several practices because I wanted to learn about my options and find a provider I could trust with my face. I want to start by saying the office itself is beautiful, and the front desk staff member who checked me in was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the consultation experience was disappointing. My appointment was scheduled for 4:00 PM. After photos were taken, I spent a significant amount of time waiting. By the time Melanie's assistant came in to speak with me, I had already been there for quite a while. When I explained that I was there for a consultation only and was not planning to have treatment performed that day, I felt a noticeable shift in the interaction. While she remained professional, I left with the impression that consultation-only patients were not a priority. After additional waiting, Melanie came in and provided recommendations, including Sculptra and other treatments. However, the consultation felt very rushed. As a first-time patient who knows very little about cosmetic procedures, I was hoping for more education, discussion, and guidance. Instead, I felt like there was little opportunity to ask questions or fully understand the recommendations being made. Afterward, another staff member quickly reviewed treatment plans, membership options, and pricing. The information was presented so rapidly that it was difficult to follow, and when I attempted to ask questions, I felt as though the conversation was being rushed along rather than welcomed. What disappointed me most was not the treatment recommendations themselves, but the overall experience. I came in looking for expertise, education, and a relationship with a provider I could trust long-term. Instead, after spending roughly 90 minutes in the office, much of it waiting, I left feeling like my consultation was something to get through rather than an opportunity to earn my business. For patients who already know exactly what they want and are ready to proceed with treatment immediately, this practice may be a good fit. For first-time patients looking for a thorough consultation, education, and a more personalized experience, my experience fell short of expectations.

I initially saw Dr. Rogers for removal of a cyst on my scalp in January. Even before the surgery, communication from the office was frustrating. His scheduler was extremely difficult to reach and repeatedly did not answer or return my calls when I was trying to arrange appointments. I also had very little communication about the actual procedure. I was not informed by Dr. Rogers about the anesthesia plan beforehand. I actually learned that I would be undergoing anesthesia when his scheduler called me to confirm the surgery. I found that extremely concerning and unsettling as a patient. After the initial surgery, I felt there was essentially 0 postop follow up or aftercare. During my January follow up appointment, Dr. Rogers did not notice that the incision was still leaking or that cyst material remained, because he quickly glanced at the incision and sent me on my way. I later learned that the cyst had not been completely removed and required another procedure in March to address the remaining cyst wall material that he missed. What should have been a relatively straightforward cyst removal has now turned into months of appointments, procedures, expenses and stress. As of August, the surgical site still has a small area that will not completely close and intermittently leaks. At my most recent appointment, Dr. Rogers told me that he "did not know why the area was still not healing" and said he would follow up with his partners. Instead of personally following up with me, I was simply scheduled with another surgeon in the practice. At that point, I decided to seek a second opinion from a dermatologist. The dermatologist examined the open wound and performed a biopsy and prescribed antibiotic ointment. I am currently waiting for the biopsy results to determine what needs to happen next. I understand that complications can happen and that no surgery is guaranteed to have a perfect outcome. My frustration is with the lack of communication, follow up and ownership throughout this entire process. I have spent a significant amount of money, time and emotional energy dealing with an issue that began in JANUARY, and I don't feel that my concerns have been handled with the level of care and communication I would expect from my surgeon. I was also frustrated when I was told that I would be charged a fee at a recent follow up appointment because the previous appointment had been considered a "courtesy." From my perspective, these have been ongoing follow up visits related to a surgical site that has still not healed, rather than unrelated "courtesy" appointments. I am hopeful that the dermatologist will finally determine why this wound has not healed and help me resolve the problem. Based on my experience, I would not choose Dr. Rogers again or anyone at Desert West Surgery.
