As a plus-size woman, I expected only modest results, which I would have been happy with. But Dr. Smith completely proved me wrong! From my very first consultation, everything was explained thoroughly, and I felt informed and comfortable throughout the entire process. The pricing was very fair, especially considering I had an extended abdominoplasty, liposuction, and a fat transfer to my buttocks (BBL). Scheduling my surgery was simple, and before my procedure I had another appointment where every detail was reviewed, including what to expect during recovery and everything I needed to do beforehand. I was especially impressed by how proactive the team was. They arranged my cardiac clearance, blood work, started me on antibiotics, and made sure I had all of my medications before surgery, which made the entire experience much less stressful. My surgical package also included an overnight nurse, my compression garment (faja), and all follow-up appointments, which added tremendous value. The on-site surgical center is beautiful, modern, and state of the art. When I saw my results on the very first day after surgery, I was absolutely stunned. Even while wearing my compression garment, my lower hanging belly was completely gone. The emotions and joy I felt are impossible to put into words. During the first two weeks of recovery, I had several follow-up appointments, and every member of the staff was caring, patient, and accommodating. Whenever I had questions or concerns, I could email or call, and Natasja always responded quickly with reassurance and support. We had one small scheduling mix-up, but the staff resolved it immediately and made the situation completely stress-free. I also had lymphatic massages with Lindsey, and she was absolutely amazing. She made such a difference in my recovery and was wonderful to work with. I truly cannot say enough about Dr. Smith and his incredible team. Their professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail and sense of humor made this an exceptional experience from beginning to end. My skin was flawless but after I had my son I wanted my body back. That's what I told him. 'The procedure is very straight forward', he said. A few incisions and 3-6 months later, I'd be snatched.' That's it. In retrospect, I was desperate and naive and I just accepted what he told me. I hate myself for accepting his passivity and lack of enthusiasm or empathy or AESTHIC at all. I hate my stomach and I hate myself for not doing more research, or ask more questions or just waiting until I found someone with better bedside manners. He's cold, detached and rough with his hands. After surgery I swelled, Bad. I retained enormous amounts of fluid. And even with rest, Pineapple, massage and faha I could not get rid of it. Thats not the worst part. My stomach NEVER healed. It's been 3 years and my stomach still looks deformed, like there's a live alien inside. I'm an avid Yogi, Pilates and Kaleistenics practitioner and there's nothing (natural) that can fix it. I work really hard to flatten my belly but no matter what I do, it still looks deformed. I was very vocal and communicative around the problem. I was advised to wait for the results. It took 9 months before I was able to go back to yoga. I went on Ozempic to lose the weight. It worked! But still the Alien belly. My belly button is 2 inches to the right (way off center) and what was smooth and pretty on the outside is now rough and bumpy. I used to have a 6 pack before the baby. I went to a few other consults with other surgeons before I ended up making the decision to have Dr. Herte do my revision and I definitely made the right choice going with her! She swapped out my 300cc saline implants that were 13 years old and replaced them with a little bit larger silicone implants. She also preformed a modified lift on one side and was able to hide my incisions in the crease under my breast so they are not visible. She also had to revise my pockets and release some tissue tightness to make sure the shape of my breast were evenly round. Even after having all that done I am experiencing very minimal bruising and swelling. I appreciate her attention to every detail big and small. She helped me pick out the perfect size for my body and made me feel very confident with my size choice going into surgery. Surgery day went very smooth, her staff consisting of her nurses and anesthesiologist were so kind and made the whole experience a great one. Nurse friends of friends, patients, providers-- they all say only wonderful things about him. That boosted my confidence going into surgery. As a nurse with over 20 years in healthcare, I have seen many providers that truly meet expectations but few go above and beyond. I personally experienced this first-hand. After my discharge, he personally made sure I received my medication when there was an issue with the pharmacy. He was quick to answer my text and quicker to come to my rescue. That level of care and responsibility is rare, especially from a provider of his caliber. (I was deeply moved, I get teary-eyed every time I tell my friends this story). He could've delegated it but having the mindset of a great leader, he didn't. It was his "the-buck-stops-here" and " I-got-you" kind of mindset that truly impressed me. This was only possible because he has such a kind heart. What also stands out is his dedication to mentoring others. The person I spoke with said there were a number of forms to fill out and I asked if they could be emailed to me. They were and I filled them out and had them ready for when I arrived instead of balancing a clipboard while holding an insurance card, et. al. I don't know why we're still killing trees for these medical practice forms, but this was a bonus for me! When I arrived yesterday, I simply had to check over the information on one paper, sign it, and then have a seat. I was early. In a very short time, I was called by his medical assistant who took all the vitals. I was then shown to a waiting room with a welcome sign for me. Nice touch. In a very short time, Dr. Chung came in and we spoke about why I was there. We left the exam room and went to his office where he showed me the PET scan from the disc I had brought with me. He told me I had 4 options from doing nothing to the most aggressive. We both settled on the second option--a CT scan in 6 months--recommended by the radiologist and by Dr. Google. We can see if anything changes during that time and then decide what option is best. Before leaving, Dr. Chung gave me his business card and circled his cell phone number telling me if I woke in a cold sweat some morning and decided I needed to do one of the other options, call him on his cell. The first time that ever happened. I got the paperwork I'll need in November and the office will contact me to help arrange the CT scan. I was on my way to the elevator within 20 minutes of my scheduled time. This is the first physician I've ever given a 5 star rating and it's well deserved. On time appointment (and I know that can't always happen), very pleasant staff, a highly recommended physician by two others, with great knowledge and experience. If it happens that he has to be Edward Scissorhands sometime in the future, I know I'll be in good hands, so to speak!
