Found this shop online - went in and they seemed to give a fair price for my silver and coin, paid me cash at less than $1000.00 but..... I did not get a per-coin value and no receipt for the sale. I do not know if that's how it is supposed to work with sales like this, but I had to sign a paper that i was there, sold to them, but it did not have any financial data on it at all. SO - while they were friendly and helpful, I would recommend caution. request a reciept, request to know exactly what they are paying for. I'm glad I only took in a portion of what I have and I know moving forward I will be much more cautious about getting fair value. read more

I found this business through Yelp and went there based upon their all 5 star reviews. I am very happy to write my 5 star review based upon my experience with them today. I had a gold coin that I wanted to sell. I walked in and was immediately and warmly greeted by Tammy. She was both friendly and professional. Within a span of about 5 minutes she examined by coin, used a device to verify it was real, gave me some history about the coin and gave me what, based upon my online research, was a good price for its purchase. I only needed to present my drivers license, fill out a brief form and then received a check. I have never sold a coin before and Tammy made the entire process a pleasure. I've been in the store a couple of times recently and have really enjoyed working with the new owners (still in the same family). I made a purchase that they weren't able to fulfill immediately due to inventory, so they made the sale and honored the pricing. What was impressive is that they told me when might expect the product to come in and they called me immediately when it did. On a separate note, I had a question regarding traveling with precious metals to go visit family. The owners provided me with guidance, then sent me an email after double-checking a couple of things. I'll update this review after I visit but I'm going to give it 5 stars right off the bat, based on a phone conversation. I have some gold coins I'm looking to sell and I called a shop nearby my home and was given a bit of a run around. Even though I told them exactly what I had, they couldn't give me any idea what they would pay for them. They said I'd have to drive in just to get an estimate. I asked about if they could tell me what spot price is currently so I could get some idea and the lady on the phone just snapped, "We don't pay you spot price." Well, thank goodness for YELP! Because I didn't know where else to call and then I found Centennial Gold Silver & Coin Cents. Based on the glowing reviews, I decided it would be worth the trip south to work with them. I have came in a few times looking for specific coins and just to generaly buy silver. Great prices and the owner is willing to help you find what you need. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. It is a great store with a wide selection of different items. The first time I came it the owner was helping someone sell their coin collection they had inherited, he was very helpful and wasn't ripping them off like most coin shops. Highly recommend. I usually go to another outfit to buy gold and silver, but they were closed for the Holidays and didn't open until after the new year. I wanted to buy gold before the New Year because historically in December is when Gold is at its low. I called several places and everyone was either closed, or had someone answering the phone that couldn't answer questions I needed answered until I got ahold of Tom. Tom over at Centennial Gold and Silver is passionate about his shop. He works there only part time from 10-2pm everyday until he can pay off his store, and do it full time. However, he's been open for 7 years. I gave him a $27k check up front until I recieved the 20oz of AGE Coins. Took 4 days to get which is normal. I highly recommend Tom and his shop. I wish I would have found him earlier because I would have saved thousands using him, but he has my business from here on out. Also, what I find cool is every kid who comes in his shop gets a free foreign coin and a lesson on that coin if desired. I brought 2 of my 4 kids in his shop and they both loved it. I was looking to sell an inherited coin collection and with little experience, I made an inventory and took my list to 4 local coin shops. The first shop wasn't interested, the 2nd shop gave me an estimate on the spot, the 3rd shop said he paid 75% of list and finally I went to Tom at Centennial gold silver & coin cents. Tom looked at my inventory gave his price list and told me he paid 70% of list and took the time to answer all my question. I went home and figured an estimated value based on his list, by the time I was done, the 3rd shop that told me they paid 75% called back with an offer that was more than the 2nd shop but less than I figured of toms price list. So I brought my collection to tom. He spent 2 hours going through my collections and offered a little more than what I was expecting.
