Solid experience. Called and spoke with Dave 2 days prior to visit and asked if he could give me an idea of what he'd pay for some gold bars and coins, knowing he probably gets a lot of these calls. He didn't hesitate and said he'll typically pay 98% of spot price. Went in today, met Dave to show him what I had and laid out a couple oz coins and some bars. He was polite, all business and direct. I read the bad reviews and they did not equate to my experience at all. My cousin wanted to buy junk silver and they brought out everything they had and went through all the coins meticulously. They charged 21 times face value which was far less than Rocky Mountain Coin just a few steps up the street at 24 times face. We didn't go back to Rocky Mountain Coin to test their guarantee to meet or beat any other competitor. We were very satisfied with Dave's and weren't going back to get the same deal. Get there early in the day--they close at 4pm! I went here earlier this week to see if I could make some cash off of my grandmothers ring that isn't really my style. When you are buying or selling jewelry or precious metals like gold you should visit more then one location. Recently I had a gold bracelet and watch (also gold) which I was curious on what I could get if I sold them. Dave's gave us a price some $100 more then another. It's just a small shop on Broadway but we were treated nice. I do intend to keep looking around as perhaps these items have more value as collectibles but I'm pleased by the fair quote we received from Dave. Brought a custom silver pendant wrap in to have. Bell put on it so I could ware it on a silver chain. I showed the owner Dave I wanted it installed and he had a miscommunication with his jeweler and put t on the bottom of my wrap a custom wrap that I paid $450 to have mad for me. When I came In To pice up the pice I disco reed the pice had a bell welded to it and on the bottom of the pendant not the top. It's a wrap so it's not like you can just remove the welding and they still let me pay for it. I was disturbed so I brought the pendant back. But not after contacting to the artist who made the pice for me. He told me he would have to Tare down the whole pice to fix it and it would cost more to fix it than to just have a new pice made. So when I went back in to Dave's shop he was not In and that he would contact me on Monday because his employees lied to me and said he was not reachable because he was In the mountains. Like any insured business I would expect them to replace the damaged pice. They refused and offered me scrap value then said they would have there jeweler fix it. It's damaged and it would be obvious that it was screwed up because they laser welded on silver wire wrap. Less than an hour later the owner called me saying he came back to the shop from the "mountains". Impossible because getting across town can take up to an hour. He got in a heated argument with me on the phone became very unprofessional and told me I am not welcome back at the shop. So I went back to pick up my pendent. Waited outside so he could meet me at the door. He handed me my damaged pendant and $40. He was unprofessional, damaged a $450 pendent, offered me scrap value, and banned me from him shop because he screwed up. Obviously I will never do business with him ever again and advise you if you are thinking about going in to check him out to think twice and go someplace else. Don't waist your time. read more

I saw an ad in the newspaper for this place so I figured I would give em a shot. I called before coming in to make sure I wouldn't be wasting my time and gas. When I spoke with I presume Dave the night before I came in, he was extremely friendly and told me that he would gladly look at whatever I had. Next day myself and my boyfriend drive to the store, and upon entering the atmosphere was uninviting and rude. Two men were sitting down and didn't even so much as make eye contact with either of us. One gentleman came over to look at what we had, my boyfriend had brought in a box of antiques, which with one glance was told they weren't interested. And I don't mean they told us kindly either, more snobbish, left me feeling a little self conscious. Then I asked them about artwork, as I was told on the phone they will purchase some artwork, I hadn't brought it with me as it's big but took pictures. I had to basically pull Dave's arm to come check out the pictures after all he had told me that they do purchase some art! He briefly glanced at the pics and immediately continued with his "I am better than you attitude" saying they weren't interested in that sort of thing! Anyways this is poorly written as I hate leaving bad reviews, so I am not editing it! I will NOT be back here again nor will I recommend them to anyone. Since they are obviously too good for my business anyways this will be no loss for them! I went next door to Central Coin, and ended up purchasing a beautiful amethyst pendent. If I could add less than 1 star I would. This place is a JOKE!!! I went in with a $2500 ring (with appraisal in my hand) and this jerk offers me $175 for the ring and said that "resale is just low these days". Didn't put the ring under a microscope. Didn't do anything but take it from me, look at it, and offer $175.00. This is after I called and have a description of the ring and the man said "I can buy for up to 80% of the value of the ring!!" That's 7% of the ring cost. I walked out furious and will never, ever step foot in this terrible place again.
