I was a bit upset that they hadn't notified of this change in policy. I don't really fault him for going private since Medicare doesn't adequately compensate him enough for his expertise, but I wished I'd been informed.

I had been suffering from groin pain for three years and had been diagnosed with bilateral inguinal hernias and told to schedule surgery by a general surgeon in my home state. I began to research the procedure and specialists who offer no- mesh as an option in the right situation. The reviews that I read for Dr Yunis as well as his credentials caught my eye. His practice is solely focused on hernia surgeries but he is also a board certified vascular surgeon. I called the office and spoke with Melanie, his nurse administrator. Melanie was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and patient. She educated me and answered my questions generously, even giving me questions to ask if I sought care elsewhere. She offered a phone consult or in-person visit at my convenience. I called a couple more times over the next two years with more questions and each time she was equally helpful and pleasant as was Rhonda, who scheduled my appointment. I delayed visiting due to Covid and distance but the pain increased and was limiting my activity so I finally made the trip earlier this month. I met with Melanie and Dr Yunis. Both of them took their time to ask me questions and help me. Dr. Yunis exudes keen intelligence and kindness. He listened intently to my history, examined me and pretty quickly surmised that it was likely my hip causing my problems and pain. He offered referrals and help with imaging. Luckily my husband has great orthopedic connections, and I had an mri a week after returning home that revealed my previously healthy hip now had moderate to severe osteoarthritis with a bone spur and degenerative labral tear! A week later, I have just gotten a steroid injection and am already walking more normally with greatly reduced pain! I hope I can avoid hip replacement, but I am certainly glad I did not opt to have hernia surgery at my local hospital! It would not have helped my hip pain and may have caused other issues. I am so thankful I made the trip for an in-person consult at The Center for Hernia Repair. I would absolutely choose Dr. Yunis if I actually did need hernia repair and I am incredibly grateful for his astute preliminary diagnosis of my pain. After three years of suffering, I saw Dr Yunis and within three weeks- my limp is gone, my mind is clear from pain and I understand what is going in in my body! Melanie even called when I was back home to see if I needed anything. He and his staff are wonderful. They are truly experts in their field, kind, transparent and helpful. I felt cared for and I am so deeply grateful. I highly recommend them.

I'll start by saying they have valet parking when you come to this hospital for regular visit or for ER visit I had to go to the ER Thought I was having a heart attack or stroke. They got me immediately back ran a ton of test for two days kept me for observation overnight. It was a complete team approach and I was very very very impressed. The other time that I was at this hospital was recently when my friends daughter gave birth. The entire process the entire team did a fantastic job. Communication was amazing. Their procedures and policies were very modern and up-to-date. After the birth and in the room, the baby never left the room or the mother side or should I say site they had a lot of educational resources and made sure that the Mom understood many things about being a mother what to do in the early days, taking care of a baby. There was a lot of education a lot of communication and a real desire to help the mom take care of the baby the way, the mom wanted to have things done. They were very respectful and very attentive. I could go on and on and on, but after having experience in other hospitals, I can't say this is absolutely the best hospital I've ever been in a reserved service from.

AND I traveled with my two 17 yr. old cats. I was a stressed out mess. Arrived to my rental house (site unseen) and found that landlord listed house with her ReMax realtor husband. He lied about lots of things listed on Zillow. I started having severe headaches and ended up in ER two times within 2 days (After arriving 4 days earlier). ER doctors/nurses immediately gave me their special cocktail that I had a severe redaction to. They didn't pickup on this common problem to their cocktail and thought I was in "alcohol withdrawal" . They kept upping the dose and giving me more of the Ativan. I became out of control with ACUTE AKATHISIA and pretty much comatose. They told my family/friend that my "ammonia" level was high and they see it all the time. They decided to admit me for observation. IN the Psych Unit for 2 days. This is called "DIAGNOSTIC OVERSHADOWING ". They are brushing it off. Found out you can't sue a Florida hospital. You can ONLY try. Talked with my 2 doctors in Iowa and explained what happened. They BOTH said I was experiencing a severe stress headache and that WILL raise your ammonia levels. Too bad I can't EVEN find that "ammonia test" results IN THE DOCTORS REPORT/Testing, from that early afternoon arrival at SMH. Were they covering something up?

With a big smile. It's Aug..she then condescendingly said how about February? Like laughing to herself. I said no, I'd like to get in earlier. I guess I'll have to go somewhere else. She didn't say one word just handed me my paperwork back. My opinion is this, if you don't like your job, don't work where you work. It's not our fault as customers that you're unhappy. You don't need to spread your bad energy to customers. It's bad for your company and for your well-being. If this is my company and I saw this lady treating a customer, the way I was treated I would fire her on the spot. I've been the customer service industry for over 35 years. Not acceptable I've never not seen a company refused customers in all of my life. Good riddance. I went home and got on the phone and I got in right away for tomorrow, with another firm Deuces. Customer service is always number one in my book. And negative Nancy definitely dropped the ball. Cut bait with her... Deadweight

He performed a double hernia repair surgery on me on July 8, 2025. It is now three weeks post-op and I have a brutal bout of pneumonia he termed as a post surgical pneumonia. I still have terrible laryngitis due to the horrific way I was intubated. Also I still have a urinary tract infection because they broke sterile technique. In addition, I have itchy, painful "bumps" along the side of my private parts and it won't go away. He told me this was also from the catheter. He was supposed to speak with me after the surgery but did not and then he went on vacation for 2 weeks during which time I suffered complications and had to go to the Emergency Room. I never had as much pain of epic proportion in the eight surgeries I had prior as I did with this surgery. He called my pain medicine into the wrong pharmacy and only prescribed 12 Tramadol. I arrived to my two week post-op appointment early and was told he had an emergency so the appointment was cancelled even though I had no clue how the surgery went and what exactly he found. The office neglected to call anyone about this and I drove 50 miles.
