If you enjoy being belittled, dismissed, and condescended to by a so-called professional, then by all means, book an appointment with Kirschenbaum. But if you actually care about receiving competent medical advice and basic human decency, stay far away from this clinic. I was not the patient, but I accompanied them. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that Kirschenbaum had no interest in listening. When the patient tried to ask about amblyopia, Kirschenbaum cut them off mid-sentence--repeatedly--insisting their concerns were nonsense and brushing off everything as "just dry eyes." Not only was this dismissive and unhelpful, but it was factually incorrect. Since then, we've consulted two other specialists--both of whom treated us with far more respect and actually addressed the issue. To make matters worse, Kirschenbaum spewed outright falsehoods, claiming that standard therapy doesn't work for adults. That is blatantly untrue, as even the NIH confirms (see link below). How someone this uninformed and arrogant is still practicing is beyond me. Kirschenbaum, your bedside manner is appalling, your knowledge is outdated, and your attitude is disgraceful. Never even made it into the office. Set up an appointment two weeks out, for friday 9/19. The office called on 9/17 to confirm I was working and did not get the message till i got home at 900pm. They called again Thursday am at 8:46 to confirm, I returned the call at 9:14 and was told I lost the appointment and would be rescheduled at the end of October. I said, "No Thank you" To the office manager patients are not sitting by the phone to confirm, I am very busy as I am sure you are also, to that I had taken the day off to see the doctor and will now find another doctor. Visited Dr. Loeffler on September 29, 2022. Everything was great with the exam and new lenses however, I was charged $55 for refraction. I called Aetna and they said they cover refraction. The Dr's office also billed my insurance company for refraction so they received another $38.71. Meanwhile, I submitted the claim to Aetna but they said they OVERPAID Dr. Leofflers office and they would have to pay me. When I called Dr. Loeffler's I was told they never received the funds but Aetna said it was direct deposited via #26266052. So I called back again and they said I need to speak with the office manager. After several minutes I was told she would call back. After several hours I called again, was put on hold and then told she's on the phone and would call back. I'm getting the run around and left my former eye dr. Guess I made a mistake... read more

Would not recommend unless you want to be hit with extra fees. First & last time I will use this Ophthalmologist office. Had 2 technicians take information and do 1/2 the eye exam , then the Doctor finished the exam. They were all very nice but never mentioned an extra fee added on for my eye exam. Hi all I am a health care professional and familiar with medical billing. I came to this doctors office for a stye in my eye. I Wished i read the reviews because i see unusual billing practices in the previous reviews. There was a copay the first time paid prior that the to visit. Then on the way out I was sold products to reduce inflammation(wipes and a heating pad) I was sold products(charged more than a local walgreens that ii can easily purchase there) and asked to join a club for 50$ more...although that didn't apply for a stye? Next visit was a follow up and i was told I owed even more money from previous visit and the current one to meet a deductible? I called to confirm this with my insurance company but couldn't get through it was to early(they are on PST). I was told I couldn't see the doc unless I paid 135$ more. I subsequently found out i was billed not as an office visit for a specialist but rather a procedure code? My eye was not touched it was looked at. I called office next day and was told it was an error "probably" but the office manager who gives refunds would not be there for two weeks. I pursued this with my credit card(disputed the charge) and also called my health insurance, and so far got the charge reversed as a I reported this medical office to the fraud dept. He is caring, knowledgeable, and has a very warm, genuine personality. He actually felt like a friend. I went here about a month ago on the advice of my PCP and I was hopeful to get my eye fixed. I was given an eye exam and some prescriptions. I used the prescriptions for about 3 weeks and thought I was all better. I stopped using the cream and all the sudden it came back. I went to urgent care and the dr asked me if he did any cultures or test. I said no. He suggested go back to him and ask for those to be done. So I call Dr Leoffler's office and they got me in that day so I was great full. However Dr Leoffler asked me did you do this, did you do that? I said I did I didn't put hot compresses on my eyes 24 hours a day because I work a professional job... I no asked him why can't we just run the test to be sure. He said because it's not necessary??? I said we'll I've been dealing with this for a month. I'm need a solution. He said well I'm the doctor so your going through this because you didn't follow my instructions. And then in a demeaning type of way he ask me if I own a microwave??? Like I just rolled in off the street or something.. I don't get it with Drs.. I'm the patient, I'm the paying customer. Having cataract surgery is a pretty scary experience. But as soon as I met Dr. Loeffler and his staff, almost all of my anxiety disappeared. He and his staff make sure you receive the best of care. The exam is state-of-the art and everyone in that office will take time to explain things to you. My surgery went smoother than I ever thought possible. They really care about you. On my initial visit to Dr. Loeffler 2 years ago I found him to be detailed, attentive and thorough. This year, I went back not only for my annual exam but also due to blurred vision. I spent 95% of the time with the tech, who was unfriendly and not well trained. Dr. Loeffler literally came in to quickly look in my eyes and left. Before he ran out the door, I said to him, you're leaving?! I had a frightening experience of blurred vision and wanted more of an answer than, I'm sending you to a neuro-ophthamologist. This is turn scared me, does that mean there's something going on that's really serious?? He left. I called back the next day to speak to him, only got his technician. I called again the next day, finally Dr. L returned my call on the 3rd day, was very abrupt and impatient. Worst of all, he MISDIAGNOSED me. I went to the Fort Lauderdale Eye Institute in Plantation and had a very bright, but young (1/2 Dr. Loeffler's age) diagnose a lesion on my retina. Had Dr. L taken a picture of the retina, which is routine at the Eye Institute, he would have known to refer me to a retina specialist, NOT a neuro! I actually called his office to tell him this, only his tech would take the call, and was absolutely disinterested in my case. Finally, I am being sent to Bascom Palmer to an optic oncologist to rule out melanoma on my retina. If I had stayed with Dr. Loeffler, this never would have been found. He was incompetent in diagnostics and his bedside manner is so poor you feel like you're keeping him from something much more important than seeing you. read more

Dr Loeffler literally changed my life! I walked into his office as a younger,one eyed -blind "self pay" and he and his staff took me under their wing. I had a very complicated cataract that had been growing for a good 9+ years, and just didn't have the money to get it removed sooner. His staff were exceptional and did everything in their power to help me see again, including moving my surgery date up ASAP. If it were not for Dr Loeffler and his years of expertise, I wouldn't be writing this review or recommending him today. I went from 100% legally blind to 20/20 in less than 2 weeks. I cannot say enough great things about him and his staff. He was amazing during the surgery and went way overtime because of the complications of a thick, gluing cataract that would not release. What an amazing gentleman! I don't live in the area and found him on ZooDoc, as I knew no one to ask. I arrived at his office legally blind in my eye that was damaged when something blew into it and scratched it from side to side across the cornea. Dr. Lauffler's calming approach, his warmth and kindness, let me know he could take care of me. Through meds and his magic, I was able to see colors the next day, and now, 6 weeks later, I am back to 20/20. Horrible first impression with Dr. Loeffler and with the front desk - not inviting at all and I will never return. I saw Dr. Loeffler after seeing my general practitioner and dermatologist for a couple of small bumps on my skin, under my left eye. Concerned it could be "C" -my mind was getting the best of me- he informed me after looking at my eye with his specialized equipment that is was FAT.(Important note- the equipment used was for my eyeball only not the skin under my eye.) I was surprised by his diagnosis, so I was curious and questioned his diagnosis. All he could say was that I was older and this happens. No bed side manner at all. Just basically you are old and you're getting bags-if it bothers you get a blepharoplasty?!?!? Of course he performs those and they are $4K for both under eyes. Not feeling confident in his diagnosis, I went to a specialist in dermatology/cosmetic surgery and was told it was a reaction from an injection I received from a filler I had put in my under eye (Note-Dr. Loeffler does injections for cosmetics also). The new doctor was able to inject it with something that dissolved the bumps and that was it - ALL done now. If I didn't go to this 4TH doctor, I would have been contemplating blepharoplasty. Even if it was fat and I wanted the fat removed, Dr. Loeffler was not going to touch my eyes, face or anything for he proved to me that he was not interested in my well being. Never asked questions nor gave me a chance to tell him ALL the things I wanted to about lotions, eye drops, contacts, etc. which I was using. Instead he told me I was at that age where I am to expect fatty bags and get over it, basically. One more thing. While he was examining my left eye I asked him to look at my right eye because it felt like a little bump might have been present and he told me that my appointment was for the left eye.
