Luckily I happened to be talking to my daughter who mentioned that her former coworkers who had eye issues went here and were pleased with the treatment they received. I called to see if they had any appts for the afternoon (it was a Friday). They asked what my issue was and after telling them, they told me to come right over. Now getting there was interesting. I was coming from the south and Waze told me at the Sample Road exit, to take the 2 left lanes and make a left. Well, when you do that, you've passed the place because the entrance is further east. I had to do a U-turn. It was still a little confusing because there isn't any signage that tells you that the first entrance once you make the U-turn is where you need to enter. They're doing construction at the hospital which makes it even more confusing. I finally made it and entered the building. Their office is on the 2nd floor. I got checked in and filled out the required paperwork. They were concerned that my retina detached but after viewing the images that were taken, that didn't happen. Dillon, who did the images of my eyes, was very personable with a great sense of humor. The female doctor whom I saw (I don't remember her name) was also fantastic. She got an eyeball to show and explain what was happening with my eye. I was there for about 3 hours which seems like the average time that I've spent at my regular eye doctor's office.

As I first walked in, someone by the desk greeted me and directed me to the floor I needed to be. I gave my name and that's all it took. A very efficient office. Each floor had a nice waiting area. It was a large area. It was nicely decorated. They had a water fountain and coffee machine on each floor. They also had multiple TVs. The waiting to be seen was not long for me; however, the exam took a few hours. I was taken from room to room to floor. The staff was great. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. I got a full explanation from a doctor and options. I recommend this place. I got to meet the famous Dr. Rand by the elevator and that was so cool.

He performed both cataract and Desek cornea surgery on me with outstanding success. Further with his associates at his Rand Eye Institute managed to arrest the progression of my right eye dry macular degeneration. This was, by far, the most comprehensive eye exam I have ever had and Dr. Wigdor has an amazing chair-side manner. I'm really sensitive about sticking things in my eyes and even more sensitive about someone else sticking things in my eyes. My with some mystery indications of something going wrong in the retina of one eye, my…read moreophthalmologist referred me to Dr. Noel L. Elgut who, besides himself being an ophthalmologist also has a specialty in retinology. Though he ended up in turn having to refer me to another physician specializing in matters having to do with the macula, he did manage to rule out a lot of problems that might have been with my retina. During my visits, being several, I was most impressed with Dr. Elgut's mannerly professionalism and, though his office was packed with patients, thoroughness of his exams, willingness to listen and take time with me. Best off, when he was unable to make a determination of the situation, he said so, then when on to make a referral and event set up an appointment for me with a person who thought might be able to help, which I thought was really great. Too often I've sort of been confronted with unknowing medical guesswork, but there was none of that with Dr. Elgut. The only downside is that Dr. Elgut is very popular as a physician, hence highly sought after. So, the lines, wait times and matters dealing with an overburdened office staff can become somewhat trying.

The staff was not helpful....Why would a doctor's office, that is in network, not honor the health insurance carrier that they are in network????? Very disappointed!
