Last year my experience was horrible waiting for 2 hrs. Since I am a loyal patient of 10 year's I thought I'd give you another chance and made my appt. a year in advance for today. I arrived for my 8:30 am appt. at 8:20 and signed in, after driving for 45 min from Delray Beach. There were already 6 people waiting, all looking quite lost, with one receptionist, who also looked lost. I waited u til 8:45 and after hearing the receptionist speaking to another patient who arrived well after me, and telling him it would be 1-2 hrs, I've had enough! I stepped up and told her to cancel me, I'd find a Dr. and practice who actually care. As a side note, the practice used to offer a full service eyeglass technicianand hundreds of frames including contacts. Now there're handwritten signs all over the office stating "No glasses, No contacts, Sorry." One more thing, I received two text messages to confirm my appointment at 8:30, which I promptly answered. Then I received 3 additional phone calls over the previous week from a number and listing I didn't recognize (MEDULA & KUBAL) so didn't answer and they went to voicemail. Listening to voicemail it was the Dr's office confirming my appointment???? How unprofessional this has this practice becone.

I googled an eye doctor that could not get me in for two weeks. After a week of waiting I went back to google and found this group. Well, this definitely happened for a reason. First of all when I called and spoke to the really nice lady who answers the phone she squeezed me in for an appointment for the very next day. From the minute I walked into the office, my experience was AMAZING! The front desk staff were very courteous and helpful. The office its self is so nice and very clean. The tech who tested my eyes before I saw the Doctor was Marius. He explained everything to me every step of the way. He was extremely thorough, professional and just so nice! Dr Gaillitis was just as amazing! At the end of my exam, the nurse walked me up front and explained my medicine instructions to me! I can't say enough great things about the practice!

I was pleased with what I read, and booked an appointment. They were able to accommodate me on the same day in the afternoon. When I got there the receptionist greeted me pleasantly and gave me paperwork for my daughter to fill out. We sat patiently waiting for them to call my daughters name. They had magazines for us to read while we waited. We waited for about 20min before they called us in the back and started testing. Marius was the gentleman that performed the tests. He explained everything he was doing and why he needed to do it. Marius was very detail oriented and patient. He spoke in terminology that was easy for my 19yr old to understand. He was friendly, kept her calm during the testing, and reassured her with positive affirmations. Marius was absolutely amazing. Dr. Gailitis was also very friendly, and reassuring. I hesitated to take her to another doctor, wondering how her vision could change so quickly. But I started calling around, only to find that most eye exams were $200-$400, which was out of reach financially. Then I found Optical Express at Bascom Palmer (University of Miami Eye Institute) offering exams for just $100. I was honestly apprehensive about the quality of care at that price, and some of the Yelp reviews made me even more unsure but I went ahead and got us on the cancellation list. Luckily, they called with an earlier appointment. And I'm so glad I gave them a chance. The doctor who saw my mom was absolutely incredible. From the moment we walked in, he was warm, patient, and kind. He immediately noticed that my mom had a disability, and he took extra care to explain everything clearly to her never rushing, never frustrated, just deeply compassionate. He treated her like family. As her caretaker, I'm usually the one explaining things to her after appointments, but he took that burden off my shoulders. It meant a lot. Even more importantly, he discovered that the original prescription she'd received last year was incorrect. He spent 30-40 minutes carefully examining her vision and correcting the mistake. I saw a review saying a doctor only spent 5 minutes with them but that couldn't have been further from our experience. He was thorough and thoughtful. After the exam, we went over to the glasses side of the clinic, and I was bracing myself for another high bill. But Natasha who helped us was so kind and understanding. She listened to our situation and worked with us to find a price we could afford. She even helped me brainstorm ways to get my mom back to the clinic (since she doesn't drive), going above and beyond in every way. We're coming back next week to pick up the new lenses, but I already feel confident recommending this place to anyone especially if you're looking for a compassionate, competent doctor and staff who truly care.
