I've been a patient at this office for about three years, and my husband has been a patient for over ten. Until recently, our experiences had been generally positive. My concern arose when I requested my pupillary distance (PD), a standard measurement, so I could purchase an inexpensive backup pair of reading glasses online. I already own prescription glasses from this office (both distance and readers), but was simply looking to buy additional low-cost pairs to keep in my car and gym bag. I was told that PD is "specific to each office" and would not be provided. While I understand that practices are not required to measure PD for online purchases, refusing to share an existing or easily obtained measurement felt unnecessary and inconsistent with patient-centered care. It also felt less about policy and more about discouraging outside purchases. I've purchased glasses from this office in the past and fully intended to continue doing so after my next appointment. Unfortunately, this experience has changed my trust in the practice and ultimately led me to seek care elsewhere. I'm sure losing one patient won't significantly impact this practice, but experiences like this are often what quietly influence how people choose where to place their trust. I have been a patient at this office for 3 years and I could not be happier. I have been examined by both doctors and feel 100% comfortable seeing either one. Now for the rest of the staff - where do I start? Each and every one is spectacular. I can not name individuals but they are "special". I mastered contact lenses through the absolute dedication of several of the staff. Never thought I would be successful, but I am and love wearing my contacts. Charles knew I was off to New York in the morning, and he ran to the lab to get my lenses and assured me that they'd be cut and placed in my existing frames before my trip. My family and I were customers for 5+ years. From all of our experiences, we all said that Dr. Nadel rushes with her patients, overprices everything, uses a lot of "machines" to test what's up with your eyes ($$$$$) and gets the techs to do it all for her. My mom had blurry vision for 2 years and Dr. Nadel kept giving her stronger prescription glasses and dry-eye eyedrops. My family of 5 have been patient of Dr. Lisa Nadel for about 7 years now. They are always very professional and helpful. The doctors take their time with us and answer all the questions. The 5 of us wear glasses and contacts, so it's not easy to find a place that can accommodate 5 different people, with 3 kids/teens. My boys have broken their glasses several times, they are always ready to help and assist the best way they can. Lately, my son broke his glasses while waiting for an order of contact lenses, they were able to send the glasses to fix right away and gave samples of contacts for my son. My husband had an appointment on June 4th, 2022 with Doctor Nadel and everything went well as we entered the facility. The girls were very friendly and Professional. I never been seen by Doctor Nadel, normally my eye exams are with Dr. Amber Fiarman. Doctor Nadel took my husband to the back room and she gave him an eye exam as I waited in the Lobby. After 45minutes waiting she came out with my husband and his chart talking VERY LOUD about what he had going on with his vision. I was annoyed that there were a few people in the lobby that due to her LOUDNESS, their heads turned around listening to her diagnosis she was giving my husband. I work in a dental office and we strongly believe in whispering and confidentiality and the patients privacy. I was annoyed that everyone tuned in to listen what my husband had going on with his eye exam like it was an Advertisement on TV. I strongly believe that you don't have to be so loud when answering a question or giving recommendations where your entire lobby is tuning in. I find that very, very Unprofessional even your staff tuned in when everyone's head turned. I encourage you when walking out your patients be aware of how many people are in your lobby listening to your patients results. Even my husband left embarrassed. Have been going to this office for our glasses for a few years , myself and husband! We belong to the Uft which is great ! My daughter who works 6 days a week had a optical appointment rushes over there in traffic , I called spoke with a young lady said she forgot her form for the Uft , can I fax it as I am a patient and our name is on file and I will bring the form first thing in the am! So I faxed it explaining the error ! They would not see my daughter without the form after she rushed to the office ! I feel it was so mean and rude life is so complicated and to make it more so , for a patient is sad ! I'm very upset ! It was just was a very mean thing to to! This has nothing to do with the dr ! Every public business has their fair share of people that they just cannot please. But I have found through the years that those same people are miserable most of the time and take it out on others. I had many problems getting proper prescription lenses from a place nearby which I will not name here. I could not see clearly mid range at an LCD screen with them without everything being blurry and they kept telling me to wait two weeks to adjust along with the doctor being on vacation all the time. Decided to try Dr. Lisa Nadel and the experience and care were outstanding. She listened to my concerns, ran some additional tests and determined that the prescription was not right. Once I received the corrected lenses, I could finally see properly again. They have some pretty sophisticated machines there that I have never seen before and seem to do a great job. Amazing examination by the doctor and personalized experience with her. Everything else was less than even acceptable. Took three weeks to get glasses and was WRONG (still wrong). Under charged then OVER charged. This was YOUR deal sweetie not mine! So take responsibility. Front staff does NOT know what they are doing. Upgrade to mature, considerate, knowledgeable employees would be a strong suggestion here. Had to run three different transactions to get ALL the charges (yeah right) settled. Wasn't able to clarify the charges and then when questioned was argumentative (young girls trying to act like they know and was WRONG in the end). Rushed through initially (take a breath please!) to just sit and watch them play on their phone and the "high school hour" was clearly evident. Moving on.. The office is beautiful and serene and more updated than we expected. I just finished getting an eye exam and lens fitting for contact. The optometrist I saw was very professional, friendly, and thorough. I was pleased until the very end when I found out they charge $175 for new patient contact lens exams. I have never seen a lens exam for this price. Luckily my insurance covered $60 of it, however this price was not disclosed to me over the phone when I specifically called and asked about the Lens fitting price when I made my appointment. I called the office in advance to schedule an appointment. The secretary was very helpful. The also took my insurance over phone and scheduled me for an eye exam. The office is beautiful and super clean. Absolutely amazing. I filled out zero paperwork. It was possibly the fastest doctor visit I've ever had. I do not recommend this office to anyone for the following reason, I was a patient here years back until I realized that I was being overcharged. After the office staff contacted us to come back and work better within our Vision insurance coverage we decided to go back. Well today exam and charges were completely out of line. For my wife's contact exam the price was 3x more than The past place we were going to. I can assure you this offices prices are not in line with the bigger companies. So much for trying to utilize Mom and Pop shops. Plus the price they want to charge us through our insurance coverage for the contacts is almost 4x more than you can buy them right on line at opticontact.com I showed the office staff the price on line and I got a shrug of the shoulders. After walking out and confirming that Target and Walmart optical charge 1/3 for the contact exam I called back to speak to office manager Charles who gave me nothing but nonsense answers about why their prices were higher than even tried to tell me he needed to go slow in answering me cause he is from Alabama, I told him he is educated and trying to figure out quick answers of deceit. I do not tolerate or accept that type of business model by anyone. As I started out this is the 2nd time this local business leader has tried to rip off my insurance as well as ourselves and that is not to be tolerated by anyone that I know. I do recommend for the same service and much better bang for your buck the larger box stores which I have never incurred this issue, as well as knowing your insurance coverage as well. Luckily I knew to walk out and contact state attorney generals office I hope you take my advice as well. Adding this after talking to one of Dr Nadel staff and herself on how to make this situation. In a nutshell I was told they want to make this right and her staff employee offered me possibly stolen sunglasses from his trunk from a past job he has abundance of stuff and I explained in texts as I will post screenshots of the texts I am a federal employee I don't want anything free I just want what my insurance has allowed us each and every year. Why this year my cost is out of line completely, they promised to accommodate and get us a six month supply of contacts and exam covered within my insurance allowance. Now today I check to see when the contacts will be in and was advised cause I have not deleted my comments that they no longer will get us the contacts. Again this is an unethical practice and I will of course be notifying the state of Florida as well. I will have my kids scratch out employees phone number on screen shots and post for all to see how crazy this has become. So now that my insurance benefits have been chewed up by this office I will have to purchase contacts out of pocket all together and get no benefit utilization from my benefits this year. The girls in the front are more than friendly, answering every question I had regarding my insurance and gave me opinions on the frames I was choosing. They were definitely patient with me. I picked up my contacts and asked why my insurance never covers part of the cost. I was told it is my responsibility to tell them I have insurance and to have them apply the coverage. I have never had to tell them when I've gotten an eye exam, they just tell me what I owe after insurance, so why would I need to tell them when I pick up contacts? I don't have to remind CVS every time I pick up an Rx that I have insurance and they should apply it. These people have cost me hundreds of dollars over the years and I'm very unhappy. read more

Visited yesterday for an annual eye exam and contact lens fitting. I selected her because she was in network and had positive reviews. The extremely negative review I read did not impact my decision. I was very pleased with my experience with Dr. Nadel. It was clear that she enjoys her profession, is very knowledgeable, and understands her patients concerns and needs. She spent nearly an hour with me trying to accurately determine the prescription that would give me a good all around visual experience. I am nearsighted and farsighted with astigmatism. I also had had RK surgery nearly 20 years ago that adds another layer of complexity. I had given up on contacts because of the dryness they caused and poor vision they were giving me. She introduced me to new technology that is comfortable. We tried several combinations of powers in each eye to give me good distance and near vision. I was given 5 days worth for a trial run. So far I'm happy. If I decide it's not working she'll try something else until it's right. This service is included in the exam fee. read more
