The frustrations of businesses like these surprise me why they are still operational that do have provide none, low quality, and little customer service. My advice to this business is to learn from Amazons customer service department. Calling this business for the first time, machine says to press 1 to schedule appointments. Waited 15 minutes, automated machine says something like "please leave a message because the front desk are helping other people" then the phone transfers the music in the waiting room to a machine that says "voicemail is full". The phone disconnected. This is probably a bad sign. I can't imagine being a patient with issues and dealing the issues of not being able to contact anyone on the other phone line. Perhaps this is a big red flag. I would just take caution with this location, be careful, and find a second and third opinion or business. I want to thank all the staff at the Center for Sight in Tracy. Sarahi, Marilyn, and Dr. Raubach were beyond professional! The office is very clean and organized. My sons appointment was very smooth and they guided my wife throughout the visit. Communication was key and they informed her of everything she needed to know. My son was referred here cause he's at risk for Autism and his doctor wanted to rule everything out. I got the call to schedule & the one in Modesto has a longer wait time I came to the Tracy location cause they had a sooner availability. I made this appointment back in July or August & the appointment was set for November 15th, a Friday. Mind you we're coming from out of town. I got a call the morning of the appointment from the front desk girl asking me to change the appointment time from 12:20 to 11:30. I let her know I was unable to get there sooner since I was coming from out of town & am traveling with two babies. She said "okay I'll let the dr know" she called back when I was driving to Tracy from Modesto letting me know if I was not able to get there earlier my appointment would be canceled. I took the day off of work for this appointment & at that point had already been driving for about 30 mins because I also had plans to do something else before the appointment. The dr wanted to get out earlier cause it was Friday & threatened to cancel my appointment if I didn't do what he said. I request PTO to be off of work that Friday. If he didn't want to work he should have done the same. SMH the unprofessionalism of this place is crazy!!!! Hopefully they go out of business soon cause their girls at the front first off are rude & don't even get ready for work looking all lazy. Don't go here & don't request a day off work to bring your babies here they will most likely cancel your damn appointment so the dr can leave work early on a Friday. Wow, look at all the one star reviews. After going there to order Contacts that I still haven't received I bet I'm not going to get them. With no response when calling and going there 3 times during normal business hours to find they are closed. Finally got a call 4 weeks later my contacts were in. Since picking them up I got a call from the main office 3 months later in Stockton saying I picked them up but did not pay the $105. I told them it was payed for from insurance. Some how they Double billed me. I asked her do you think a 90 pack of acuview contacts cost $210? Anyways didn't hear back so I assumed they fixed the mistake. I wasn't going to post a review but, getting this called pushed my limits. Even worse, I sent my step daughter here as a new patient as well. She waited 6 weeks to get her contacts and they are not even the right prescription. How do you give your patient the wrong prescription???????? I don't know what to say about this place. I wish I would have read the reviews before brining my 74 year old mother here. First of all when I brought her for her eye exam I overheard two staff members laughing and talking about how one of them hates old people. Extremely unprofessional and rude. Mind you I was sitting in the front waiting room while my mother and other patients were in the back with these staff members. I've now been waiting over two weeks for them to re-verify her insurance so my mother can have eye surgery. When I called to follow up Arianna gave me attitude. I went to Center for Sight and was examined by Dr. Edington. I explained that I was suddenly have floaters a lot of them. I also saw flashes of light. He said they are normal and not to worry. I had read when they are all of a sudden, a lot of them, and flashes of light that there is concern. This started May 2. I called and got an appointment for May 17. June 3rd my retina tore in two places in that same eye and now I have to have retina repair surgery. I will be fortunate if I regain most of my sight. read more

This place is great, especially if you're looking to get a good deal, find quality glasses, and stretch your dollar! They pretty much accept all insurances and will work with you if you don't have insurance, they also accept medi-cal. You can find better deals and service here than you do at Costco or Wal-Mart. UPDATE: Center for Sight had been unsuccessfully trying to get information from the insurance company- Davis Vision. I called Davis Vision and spoke to Customer Service Representative. She called Center for Sight and shared my coverage details. My glasses have been ordered. I have revised my 1/2 Star rating to 2 Stars. First time being seen at Center for Sight in Tracy. Good experience with initial new patient paperwork, front desk help and optometrist exam. The frame fitter, Judy, was helpful and friendly. HOWEVER, that's the END of my satisfaction. The glasses cannot be ordered until the insurance coverage details are relayed internally via internal phone call with Center for Sight. Called Wednesday afternoon and was told that Judy was still waiting for a call back. Personally visited the Tracy office Friday....she's still waiting for a return call. The order cannot be placed or paid for until this information is determined. THEN, told the was no one to speak with (NO ONE TO ELEVATE PROBLEM). If it was possible to choose a HALF STAR rating, that would be my experience. POOR Service obliterates otherwise helpful service. read more

DO NOT GO TO CENTER FOR SIGHT! I made an appointment with them, came in, got an eye exam and paid for two boxes of contact lenses and ordered a pair of glasses through my insurance. They said my contact lenses would be ready in 5 days. It's now been three weeks and every time I call they are either never there, hang up on me or tell me to call back in a week. I tell them I have no more contact lenses and they don't care. So I ask for my money back and they refuse to do so. Now I have to call the Better Business Bureau and find a lawyer to sue and I don't have any money because I am disabled and not working! This place ripped me off! read more

Awful place!! Firstly they'll have you waiting hours for your exam. All ladies that work there are unprofessional and rude. They never call you back when you leave messages and pretend they don't see them on record. They never call you when your glasses are ready. I have a right to check in on my glasses, but every time I call I just get attitude and snarky bitchy comebacks. In no way would I recommend this place. Very disappointed!! My daughter has worn glasses for 4 years. The dr here says oh i dont know why she wears glasses! No need her eyes are great. She goes to summer school teacher is arguing with ne she needs her glasses, no dr yold me no more! She is attending school they do there yearly eye exam, my daughter failed! I'm writing this review while I'm here. This is my first time here & as soon as I get in I'm automatically given attitude by the front office staff. I try to say good morning anyway but I'm cut off by this woman who says "I'll be with u" & picks up her phone to call someone. - 1 star They take my ID & my insurance card & tell me to fill out paperwork. I bring up the paperwork & they tell me to go "sit back down" & they'll call me when they're done w/ my insurance & ID. I've been here since 9 and it's 9:40 & the only thing they've done is tell me how much to pay for my co-pay which they decided to yell for from the desk to where I was sitting. - 1 star This place is small, REALLY small. Unfortunately that leads to everyone's business being heard, especially when trying to buy the actual glasses. This women didn't have insurance nor did her daughter have a social security card... This Tracy office is rarely open. And when it is, they don't answer the phone. If you transfer yourself to the optometrist the recording says she's on the phone, leave a message, but you can't because her mailbox is always full. It took 3 months of me randomly stopping by to see if they were open as well as calling almost daily until someone actually picked up the phone and told me she would need to call the lab to see why my glasses weren't in yet. Turns out they were in. I wonder how long they had been there and no one called to let me know. In all fairness I did have one missed call from them but they didn't bother to leave me a message. Horrible service! I went with my mom, who doesn't speak English, to translate. We were seen by the doctor and was told that they will fax a new prescription to CVS that morning, we can pick it up by the afternoon. I want to get it in the Pm, it wasn't there. CVS said they have not received anything for CFS yet. I called their office, the Stockton office answered and they don't have any authorization to send the prescription. They need to coordinate with the Tracy people to get the paper work going. We were given the run around and got my mom's new prescription after 4 days. Why is up with that? read more

When I got the chance to met the optical and chose my glasses they told me the glasses will be ready in three weeks max. but its been 7 weeks and I haven't gotten a call from them. Front desk is way too close to seating from patients many time I Spock softly to repeat my date of blithe the lady Spock loud to say it again I didn't want any of other patients to know what we r talking about. I took my daughter there last week and the assistant was nice but the staff at the front desk was overwhelmed with phones calls and paperwork so they couldn't answer any questions. It was my 1st time going to an optometrist as my daughter is only 6 years old and didn't pass her sight test at her physical. I then came back today to see the optometrist again to get a 2nd test done and the front desk receptionist was very rude she had no time to answer any of my questions yet again the nurse that helped told my daughter that the eyedrops would burn knowing that she was a kid and eyedrops really don't burn which then freak my six-year-old out they should know how to work with children if that's what they're going to do the doctor himself was OK but really didn't answer any of my questions as well I would never go back here and I would never advise any parent to take there child there. Dr. Phillip Edington is a wonderful Dr....competent and kind....installed a glaucoma shunt that reduced my eye pressure and allowed me to get off drugs that were making me ill....timoptic etc...that gave me asthma... On May 30th I had a stroke that paralyzed my right foot....after visits with local neurosurgeons, neurologists and rheumatologist I was referred to UCSF neurology...I was told I needed a MR Neurogram STAT and it was scheduled for 2 days later on a Saturday...I was asked if I had any implants and I mentioned the shunt...UCSF put the brakes on the Neurogram ....they needed to verify that the shunt was compatible with the MR imaging at 3 Tesla..... No big deal.right... call Center for Sight and have them fax the info..nope....i was informed Center for Sight went on a different system and my file info was not available..."Sandra" office manager called UCSF and gave them the info that they couldn't and wouldn't furnish the requested file info...I'm stuck..paralyzed leg.... In an attempt to contact Dr. Edington on a weekend....Dr. Jefferey Ing was on call....He offered to drive in...open his office..identify the shunt so I could have the Neurogram....I told him the imaging had been cancelled due to Center for Sights lack of response... Dr.Ing gave me an appt on monday..identified the shunt and faxed to UCSF...2 hours later I had an appt.....In short....Center for Sight has shown to me they don't care....could care less....I still hold Dr. Edington in high regard and think he should get the hell out of that practice read more

I brought my son here to get his first pair of glasses. When I said we were here to look at glasses, the lady working said-right there and just pointed. She didn't get up to help or show us exactly where the kids frames were. She never once asked if she could help us with anything. Her cell phone rang and she sat on her phone having her conversation. I told my son let's just leave and look somewhere else. When we got to the door she asked if we did not find what we liked? I kindly told her no and walked out. The Dr. and staff were very unfriendly and working in the medical field that is the first impression you leave on a patient. I have never had my eyes dilated. They did not give me any of those glasses to wear after and I Drove and could not see a thing. I went to this office because this is about the only office that took my vision insurance. My co worker had a future appointment at the same office and they wouldnt even see her because she did not have a driver(probably a good thing)? So why was I able to have my eyes dilated, be seen, and leave when i was clearly alone? Here it is again Overall a horrible experience, the main doctor botched a surgery on my daughter. Was supposed to clear a tear duct and he missed, caused bruising to the eye. He refuses to talk to us about the surgery or contact us after repeated calls to the office. I had a very bad experience at this office. The office staff was rude and I had to ask if I needed to sign in after I had been standing at the desk waiting for them to acknowledge me for about 5 minutes. My initial appointment to see the Dr was to renew my prescriptions for eye glasses and contacts. I waited two hours to see her for 5 minutes. She renewed my eye glasses prescription but I had to make a separate appointment with another Dr to renew my contact lens prescription. (Seriously?!) For the 2nd appointment I was there before the doors opened. The Dr didn't arrive for another hour after my appointment time. I waited another 2 hours total... All this at 7-1/2 months pregnant! NOT a good time to make me wait or to be rude! Would not recommend! read more

This is unfortunate that I have to write this but this office has never been a pleasant visit. The ophthalmologist herself is wonderful and I have full confidence in her abilities. The problem lies with the front office staff and the optometrist. The front office staff has never been anything but rude to me. They have written down one date on my appointment card and then another in their system on one occasion then made me out to be the bad guy as if it was my fault. I have asked them a simple question about insurance and why they didn't cover a particular visit and they somehow expected this to mean that I wasn't going to pay my copay and gave me attitude. The latest occurrence was when they called me on Friday to verify an appointment made for the following Tuesday, but I could not make it and cancelled but didn't reschedule. Tuesday morning came and I received a voicemail saying that we had "failed to show up" for our appointment. At which point I called and they tried to make me the liar and say that the appointment wasn't cancelled and again gave me attitude, which to be honest, I gave right back. My problem with the optometrist is that when my daughter's glasses broke and I returned to use the insurance I had bought on them and get t hem fixed or get a new pair, and first she said she didn't acknowledge the insurance, then next she denied we even bought the glasses with her. The nurse had to suggest she look in the records as she remembered that we indeed did buy our glasses there. After that, she did concede and get us a new pair of glasses, which came in within a week. I have stayed with them hoping that each run in with the staff here is just me catching them on a bad day, but that is apparently not the case. We will be taking our business to Dr. Oneil as the doctor and staff are nothing but helpful. read more
