I've been coming here for 3 years and haven't had any issues with this establishment. Straightforward, it's conveniently located, they have appointments, the receptionists and doctor are pleasant and helpful. It was easy enough to walk in and request an appointment- they can tell you right there if your insurance will help with payment or not. The day of appointment, you just fill out your intake form like any other place, and the wait time is not long. You can start looking for glasses/frames while you wait. The doctor is nice and she's thorough. After she's done, you can take time to look at frames again and then make your choice and payment. They offered me a copy of my prescription, I didn't even have to ask- which is nice in case I wanted to get frames somewhere else. They do have decent frames- but if you want more choices of frames or more choices for prices it's nice to take your prescription with you. I recommend. read more

I have had a few really good optometry appointments in my day, but nothing like my experience at the 11th Street Site For Sore Eyes. Dr. Lamm was more than efficient. He shared information with me I had never before heard, and did not try to upsell other services. The front staff were just as kind, welcoming me from the start and treating me as if I was their best and only customer of the day. Jackie was especially caring. She took the time to find the perfect frames and then proceeded to give me a price I could afford - something I have never experienced in my former visits to eye care retailers. My wife and I needed an eye exam and new glasses. We scheduled our appointment online, received a few calls to confirm and lock in the appointment, and were seen within a week. The communication was fantastic and very professional. The eye exam went very smoothly. Dr. Chishty is very accommodating and will even go in detail about her observations to help you understand your current conditions. She is incredibly knowledgeable and helped correct my vision to exactly where I need it! Next, we tried on frames. Their selection is very large including most popular brands such as Oakley, Rayban, Guess, and a few other nice selections. We also appreciated the extra safety precautions with the staff cleaning frames immediately after each try-on. Serena helped us make our selection and was super knowledgeable and helpful as well. Also, as an added surprise, our new frames and lenses arrived in 2 days. This is the fastest turnaround we have ever had for new glasses! She is very friendly and inviting; she helped me pick out my regular pair of glasses, Rx sunglasses, and a nice pair of sunglasses for my fiancé over three different visits. Do NOT go there... worst customer services, absolutely no flexibility what do ever, even for small things like running 5 min late and they'll still charge you etc. also, they try to get money squeezed from you at every opportunity, eg my insurance covers one free frame but they wouldn't provide unless I buy lens from them. Ridiculous service and pathetic people! By the way, good luck with parking!!!! .... So after the above interaction of extremely poor customer experience, I had 2 more follow on episodes to cement my perspective and experience with these folks. ..... Second interaction was via Google response to my above comment that I posted at Google as well. You would expect a remorse or apology or AT THE VERY LEAST. A concern, right? Guess what none of that. In fact they had the audacity to defend their position on the inflexibility by saying they "were able to accommodate 5 min late"!! Really? Most eye glasses businesses are way more courteous, responsive, and customer centric. The other problem is their arrogance which is squarely reflected in their processes and extreme stubbornness around what they are given as their job description. ....... The third and the worst was just yesterday (Friday March 31 at 2:25pm). They sent me a text in the morning to pick up my glasses at anytime. I went at 2:25 and guess what the open sign was also on but the door was locked. I came from 6-7 miles so thought to wait for a few that may be they are in some bio break or something. While waiting, I noticed a small sign by the door indicating they'll return by 3:30. Frustrated, I was about to return when I saw a lady walking in so I walked up to her and asked if I may pick up my glasses. Frustration just grew after seeing her attitude. She was in absolutely no mode of helping and it was all about her "lunch break" that I don't understand how would be longer than an hour?? Believe me you get better experience at smallest vendors OR at the large highly process oriented firms such as banks. Wish me luck as I am making another trip to pick up my glasses and would see this terrible franchise for the last time in my life. But I am committed to save others from the experience so I'll not lose any opportunity to educate others across various social media platforms about this maliciously awful process slaved business. read more

Updated review: To be clear, my husband and I are both clients at this site. Unfortunately, he had a completely different experience than I did. The staff and doctor were very pleasant and professional when I was in and I did not have ANY problems or issues. He, on the other hand was extremely unhappy with their service due to miscommunication. (Hence the ugly yelp review!) I stopped in today to get my glasses adjusted and ended up having to address the whole issue. Nancy ended up explaining what transpired and is now working diligently to resolve his issues. Customer Service!!! I walked in and stood around for 10 minutes with no greeting. There were 2 ladies assisting other customers and they never acknowledged me. One proceeded to go to the back and whisper to another worker something and that's when I was greeted by the person that had been in the back. When walking into an establishment it would be nice to be greeted and asked what we need? I found this to be very rude and dismissive. read more

I am not very happy with the service I received here. Firstly, I was told approx 10 days to have my eye glasses ready and I had to call to check exactly two weeks later and was told that they just received them today. I don't think so!! Then I asked if they could have the itemized printout ready for me as I used my FSA card and that my wife would pick up in 2 hours as I am traveling today and need them. She had a problem with that. She was rude and went quiet on the phone. I had to get an answer out of her and got "alright" with an attitude. It takes a lot for me to write a negative review but this one is deserving. read more

I chose this location because they accept my insurance. It was easy to select an appointment through the online system they offer on the website. My appointment went smooth , receptionists were both very pleasant and the doctor was extremely friendly. I ordered frames as well and only took about a week to come in for me to pick up. One star, customer service is lacking. They didn't greet me. I had to ask for help. A bit rude when I asked questions. Only acknowledged me to let me know I needed to place glasses in the bin once trying them on. It was my first time getting glasses, an I was pretty clueless. I spent money because I really needed glasses, but left the establishment with a feeling of discomfort. Note to Management: Customer service is really important. Eye contact, greeting, asking if a customer has questions about anything, giving info on what to expect and different options available is all apart of giving a stellar experience. Making a customer feel welcome and comfortable is important. This should be the foundation of any business. Not just taking someone's money. read more

The eye exam and doctor were pleasant and her diagnosis and evaluation were excellent. The sales rep that assisted us told us that our vision insurance (Superior Vision) did not cover lenses. I asked for clarification three times and she responded the same all three times. As such, we placed an order for three frames and lenses. Total came out to nearly $1,500. I was a little confused, so when I got home I called Superior Vision and they informed me that my coverage includes the standard lenses. We did not know that was even an option. We were told otherwise. I call back the following Monday morning (our appointment was the Saturday prior late afternoon) to cancel our order and we are told that this was not possible. I raise this question as to why we were told that lenses were not covered by our carrier. The same sales rep then proceeds to tell me that the standard lenses are not possible for my kid because he was under 12 and that standard lenses are not possible for me because my prescription is not eligible. Approximately 10 minutes after our call, I call my prior optometrist and she confirms that the information that I was just given is incorrect. While the standard lenses don't provide all of the bells and whistles of the premium lenses, they work just fine for vision. Nothing would prevent my kid and I from getting the standard lenses. Both my kid and wife rarely wear their glasses and and standard lenses would have worked just fine for us. As a result of this, the shop has refused to cancel my order and issue a refund. Because they refuse to cancel, I can't use my insurance at another eye glass store for another 12 months, since my benefits are available only once every twelve months. Double whammy. Thank you Tracy Site for Sore Eyes. You sure know how to F#$% your customers. Beware, this shop is manipulative and dishonest and will not give you the full picture as to the options that are available to you. As the follow up indicates, they are unethical and will outright make up "facts" and pass it along as knowledge in order to justify not giving you a refund. read more

I was very impressed by my examination with Dr Thomas. Very thorough and kind. He did a new technique of checking Glaucoma. It was better then the jet of air that would go into each eye. Chris the Optician was very polite and kind. I got a pair of sunglasses that day. They didn't have the right case, but gave me a loner so my glasses would be safe. I plan on getting my right case this week. This place is very clean and many excellent choices for frames. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family. read more

I've been there twice and have received poor customer service by the young lady that works the front. Disappointed...

My husband has had issues with his eyes for a while now. He finally went to get them checked here at Site for Sore Eyes. The optometrist told him he didn't need glasses, he just needed eye drops and that it was just allergies. I felt like what she told him was not true or right. So we went else where for a second opinion. Turns out he did need glasses, and his focus and alignment are way off. read more

Every year my family and I set an appointments to get our eye checkup and buy new glasses.  First, the eye doctor is fabulous!  She is very thorough and detailed in testing our eyesight.  She has a very calm demeanor and explains what she is doing and why.  Next we pick out our frames.  They have a large selection. Their helpful staff ask our preferences and are able to narrow down the choices to styles that would work well with our face shape. They were very patient while we are trying on several frames. This store is so clean, covid-safe business, professional and has absolutely wonderful customer service. They handled all the billing to my insurance and I just paid the difference. For all future/current eye patients of Site For Sore Eyes at (Tracy : 1839 W. 11th StreetTracy, CA 95376). Please read this before making a choice of this location. I went to this place for eye check up and paid $59 for my eye exam. The doctor gave an eye glass prescription and connected with front desk to evaluate my options. They said overall for this prescription it will cost this much $amount. I asked for itemized price for each option like (transitions, progressive etc...) they have not given me that price. I asked again for the same as how much my insurance pays and how much I have to pay, they have not given that information. Finally, I decided not to go with them and asked for my prescription receipt. They have not given me the prescription because they no I will go to a different store to get my glasses. Overall, this is a big cheating place. I am providing all this information with due diligence and my experience with them it is up to you decide this location. read more

I called to say that I am running late approx 5-10min at most just to turn in my eye prescription. Nope, they were rude and couldn't even accommodate a repeat customer that had to wait my first visit. I've spent over $2,500 on glasses in the past with this same location. The Tracy location needs to have more empathy for customers. With everything going on these days due to covid etc. I will take my money elsewhere! Everyone here is amazing! The Dr is super knowledgeable and sooo friendly and the staff is amazing. They really know their stuff and are so great at finding the right frame and style for my face. I was in need of new classes and to have my prescription checked as it has been a couple of years since I had done either. This store was recommended by a friend since I was new to the area. I met with Jackie who helped schedule my appointment with the optometrist and when it came to ordering my glasses Jackie was there to help again. She pulled a few different styles and helped me narrow it down to, by far my favorite glasses I've owned. She made sure the fit was right for my face and my eyes; when my glasses arrived she double checked the fit and the prescription as well.
