Excellent eye care but the front desk continually submits prescriptions to the wrong pharmacy location. I have corrected them on this my last three visits and still a prescription was sent to wrong pharmacy. Fortunately I was able to get the prescription transferred to my pharmacy and filled in time for when I had to start using it before my eye surgery!! Very frustrating. read more

I had a really strange experience here. I only booked here because it's one of the few places in the area that accepts Davis Vision and I'll be trying somewhere else next time. I wouldn't say the receptionist I checked in with was rude, but she wasn't friendly either - just kind of going through the motions. Waiting room area is nice and I only waited a few minutes. The tech that did the pre-testing was friendly and did as thorough a job as I've had done anywhere else. Then she had me go in the exam room. The chair was in very bad condition with peeling vinyl and flaking foam. And then I find out I won't actually be seeing a doctor in person, it will be a virtual visit where I speak to the doctor on a screen and the exam is done remotely. This was never disclosed to me before this point and I would not have made this appointment if I had known that. I'm already there so I went through with the exam. I was given a set of contacts to try and immediately knew they were not right. After much arguing and being told I was wrong, I finally got a different strength in the eye that was the worse of the two, but they still weren't even close to right. Instead of figuring it out right then, I was told I would need to wear them for a week to get used to them and then come back. Getting annoyed at this point, I left and called back the next day to book a follow up...of which they had no openings for another several weeks. So I went way too long in a contact prescription that was incorrect and giving me headaches daily. I finally get back for the follow up and wait for over an hour in the waiting room. When I was called back the tech did a quick check and determined in a matter of moments that yes, the contacts I was given were all wrong and I would need to do another virtual exam. So I re-did that whole process and got a prescription that was better but still not quite right. Fed up at this point, I took it and left. I glanced at glasses frames but they were insanely overpriced, and I ordered my contacts elsewhere as I was done giving this place any of my business. Had I not already exhausted my insurance benefit, I would have gone somewhere else for another exam. I noticed when I was in the waiting room that I was the youngest person there, by several decades. It is in my opinion that this place caters to elderly folk who have more issues and thus will spend more money there. From my own experience and what I observed, it seems as though they are perhaps most concerned with maximizing profit at the expense of a quality product. read more

Made an appointment because I needed new glasses. Waited in the lobby for about 3 hours while being called in periodically for tests. Finally got to see the optometrist and he told me he didn't have the time to write my prescription so I'd have to make a new appointment. I feel like I should have the right to bill them for my wasted time. Just go anywhere else. read more

I have only had great experiences here. The staff and Dr. Sonni and Dr Koloms are like family now to me after more than ten years of trusting them. I agree with some reviews about the wait, but you have to wait in almost every office in Watertown these days. I had been wearing glasses most of my life and got Lasik here over five years ago. I had two horrible experiences with two different providers on the same day, first was with Dr. Burke a follow up from an annual eye exam, this was a follow up for a contact consultation. Her first question was to ask me why I wasn't wearing contacts, clearly she is a clueless twit, her assistant had to review why I was there. Then I was sent to her condescending blonde twit who 3 weeks prior had confirmed my insurance covered contacts, this day she told me it didn't, I brought up my insurance app showing it covered contacts both in & out of network, clearly this cya next Tuesday didn't want to do her job, she told me I needed to go home & call my insurance company. The second appointment was with Dr Koloms, she comes in the room and asks if I had a driver because she was going to dilate my eyes, she had done this 3 months earlier, as this was just a follow up on dry eye. I've been going there for seven years and everybody there has always been snooty, not polite. today my husband gets there for his appointment, mind you had to ride for one hour to get there, only to be told that they don't take our insurance anymore. Nobody thought to call and let me know. With my husband's health problems it wasn't very nice to make him go all the way there and back just to be told they don't take his insurance anymore. The office was very busy and I had to wait. If a doctor's office is not busy, I would question their ability to treat patients. I have been meaning to write this review for a while. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY TO ANYONE. Dr. Sanni and his sales team take advantage of you as a patient. They try to sell you many procedures that insurance doesn't cover, I'm talking things that cost ($1,800). I don't know about you, but I don't just have that cash sitting around. They then proceed to make you feel bad as though you're not taking care of yourself. I went in for my yearly exam and was told I had an infection from my contacts. I was told I could NEVER wear contacts again, and could potentially do lasik through their facility "if" my eyes heal. Made me come in weekly to get my eyes check, I was doing all the steps they prescribed me and drops. Yet the infection did not go away for 7 months. I gave them 7 months hushing the bad feeling I was getting everytime I sat there waiting for my appointments. Like clock work after every other appointment they would have me see a rep on the sales team. The sales team even went as far as showing me someone else's eye scans and telling me that my eyes have progressively got worse. I looked and said those are not my eyes, I'm not even wearing mascara like the woman in the photo. She then proceeded to pull up my actual photo and apologize. Steer clear of this facility. The only reason it's not shut down is because it's located in a small town with not a lot of other options. In case anyone was wondering I did go see another eye doctor for a second opinion. In 8 weeks my eyes were healed with drops, my eye pressures were good and I am able to wear contacts again! read more

I had an amniotic disk treatment for my dry eyes associated with sjogrens & the results were incredible. They also put plugs in my tear ducts to encourage eye moisture retention, no issues or irritations. What innovative things going on here?! The staff is also super friendly & knowledgeable. I have been bribing jrc people here for years always kind helpful etc now I have no job at jrc-arc as I could not complete there yearly test my adhd and( back when this was Covid crisis time at the house I worked at so I was been pulled in many directions))) to fill in the rn forgets all this .. so anyways Iam struggling wec says I missed three surgeries and I know it was my stupid brother in law Ronnie c not I and I have a small bill I owe yet about 36$ and it will be paid in fill the lady I just got off the phone with said I also owe 500$ for all the call I misses and I started crying and said that is so unfair it was not me and so as I write this she is checking with her supervisor to see why that have to charge my now without any $ and numerous other sad crises occurring in our lives at this very time on top of it all Iam hoping she find in her heart this is wring to charge this much fir a lower class population as us Iam crying and don't know how Iam going to get ahead it was my brother in law that called and cancelled it's got to have bees I believe from a patron who will no longer accept treatment there and i love several of your dr they were awesome it's so sad when you have to leave because of trivially stuff like this esp in the north country where good care and drs are hard to find that's but no thanks cc read more

Very strange appointment I went for an eye exam by the time I left I had appointments for eye surgery on both eyes. After further thought I canceled the appointment because I don't feel it's necessary at this time especially during Covid so I called back to get a prescription for my glasses and was told that exam wasn't even done. I am a real fan of this business. I was sick with Iritis and had to get in to see a doctor quickly. They gave me a first available appointment. I went not knowing a thing about this business. I was treated with respect and was not only seen but the doctor spent the time explaining the condition, what causes it and what we had to do to get some relief. I was simply amazed at the level of care we can get right here in Watertown. Now reading the other reviews, I agree that something needs to be done with the waiting room. The atmosphere is not one of waiting for a professional but rather like waiting for a bus that is late getting there. The 'hurry up and wait' is a take off from Ft. Drum. You can do better than that. I don't mind waiting when I know the doctor could be taking a few extra minutes with a patient, but it shouldn't be like that all the time. The nurses also seem to be told to hurry, in fact I heard someone telling a group of them exactly that. Now onto my glasses. I am older than dirt so have had many, many pairs of glasses in my life. They did the best job of any by far. The bifocal was in exactly the right place. The arms did not hurt behind my ears and I loved them. Everyone deserves a second chance - when you go somewhere one time and then write a rotten review you are not giving the business the chance to make some corrections. I have called and called for the past few weeks for replacement glasses and never received a call back, they also had done a surgery to remove my eye and i wish on everything I had gotten a 2nd opinion because I do think my eye could've been saved. Now I have issues with my prosthetic and the Watertown office no longer will see me for my prosthetic! i had to drive an hour away and pay 100 dollars for a cleaning and polish out of pocket! ( I am supposed to go do this every 6 months and it's impossible) financially and physically as I am an only parent to 3 kids. and the fact it's hard to see to drive Especially without glasses! read more

This place is like a Farm. ( The Watertown site anyway ). They herd you in like cattle after you sit and wait for hours. My first and only visit was supposed to be a visual fields with dilation, they took me in did the visual fields after about a 45 months wait. Then sent me back out in the lobby, I waited another 30 Minutes then they called me again!! They were going to do another visual fields!!! They definitely do not have their crap together.. I personally think it's all about the money for some of the Dr.'s in the group. Then they dilated my eyes and did some color exam , the doctor finally saw me and talked me into all these other visual exams, to which I canceled. I'm looking for a good eye Dr. who has experience in diseases as I am on a medication that can cause eye damage. Not only that I also heard the Watertown office likes to discriminate against people on Medicaid. How very unprofessional read more

I highly recommend this center for sight. the receptionists are always professional polite and always try to help. I have had emergencys arise and am always seen asap. Wait times are no longer than most doctors offices unless you are getting drops prior to a dilation, these take about 30 minutes to work and so of course you have to wait again. our community is fortunate to have such knowledgeable physicians and staff here. read more

I was extremely pleased and impressed with Center For Sight. The office is quite busy but I have never waited long, even when I arrived early. Staff is very pleasant and knowledgeable and the office is state of the art. Both doctors are wonderful and I had both since I had cataract removal; one for the laser part and one for the surgery. I wouldn't have even given this place one star, but there isn't an option for NO stars. I've never been to such a poorly organized medical facility such as this. With standing in a line that goes out the door, and one person checking people in, and one person checking out, and waiting forever to get to the front of the line only to find these ridiculous freestanding raised tables. I've been under the care (and I use that word lightly) of Dr. Koloms for a few months, and it's been nothing but a waste of time and money. I've found her to be aloof and uncaring. She only spends a few minutes with you, doesn't allow any time to even discuss your condition, or ask any questions, and she's off to the next patient. Today, she actually walked out the door while I was asking her a question. If anything else, she's rude. I told the nurse I wouldn't be back. I should also add that in the months that I've been her patient my condition has gotten worse, not better. read more

Extremely disappointed in their customer service. I was seen nearly an hour past my appointment time twice, only to meet with a very rushed doctor for about ten minutes each time. Customer service on the phone and in person is also a let down. I have gone above and beyond with each interaction to address staff by name and show my gratitude for their assistance. I consistently am given the impression that they are too busy to make their patients feel welcomed or, that I am bothering them with simple routine questions. Took my child's glasses in for a warranty waited over a month for them to be returned was never told they were changing the color of the frames then they claimed that we had brought the glasses in their for a warranty fix over 3 times which we had never brought them their before except to have them adjusted one time because the girl had caused them to cut into my child's head but we had to pay money for there mistake. Best advise I can give someone if you have to go to the eye doctor in this building get your prescription printed off and go somewhere else you can go to way better places and some times get two pairs of glasses for the price of there one pair. read more

Guess where you'll be referred if you fail their hearing test? They push and push this "free" hearing exam. Refuse it! Say, "Patients have rights.I refuse this free exam." I've been a long-time patient of Center for Sight, Watertown, and Dr. Sanni. My initial visit with them was to CORRECT a diagnosis that another Dr. In Watertown made...the other Dr. said that I had Dry Eye Syndrome. For two years, my right eye watered and leaked..I filled numerous prescriptions for different meds..but, they made it worse. I made an appointment for Center for sight when my eye began to swell. At my appointment at Center for sight, they determined that I had a clogged tear duct! They treated it, and within hours, I was tear-free and pain free! The "topping on the cake" for me came in 2014. I went into Center for Sight for a regular appointment, thinking I needed new glasses..I was getting many headaches. Dr. Sanni checked me thoroughly, and then, again, checked my Optic nerve..it was swollen! He sent me for an MRI immediately, and found a cyst on my brain stem! He SAVED my life..at least in my eyes, he did! He referred me to a neuro surgeon. I ended up having surgery on my skull to make room for the cyst. The neuro surgeon said that I was a ticking time bomb..anything could have jostled my cyst to move further onto my spine. Dr. Sanni and Dr. Crane are the best! They always have time to speak with you about a problem or concern, and are truly professional in their field! I wouldn't go ANYWHERE else for eye care! They know their stuff!! My husband had laser cataract surgery performed by the skilled team of Dr Crane and Dr Koloms. While waiting for him on an office visit, I heard a receptionist calling a person to reschedule an appt that the person failed to show up for at least 2 times. Dr s offices call you the day ahead of appts. So why not be courteous and call and cancel. Rude people who do this prevent others from being seen . On another visit, I sat next to a gentleman who was being seen on an emergency basis for a wood splinter that brushed his throbbing eye. I understand that some people may complain about waiting times in a doctors office until they may need ASAP help. I had upper and lower eyelid surgery by Dr Sanni. This surgery requires the utmost skill and talent. Rapport with your doctor and staff is important. I had anxiety about this surgery but they were very reassuring. Four days after surgery, I was concerned about redness under one eye and they got me in that day. Since surgery I can see better, the surgery has improved my appearance (no more saggy, squinty, tired eyes). As an added bonus, I think the effect has increased my energy level. BLUF (bottom line up front): EXTREMELY LONG WAIT TIMES AND DANGEROUSLY APATHETIC PRESCRIPTION PROCEDURE. My wife had to use the services at center for sight on 4 separate occasions. On each occasion we waited between 45 - 90 minutes past our appointed time, even though we showed up 5-10 minutes early. After the second extended wait, we decided to call ahead on our 3rd visit to avoid the long wait and not miss time at our own jobs. The receptionist told us they were on time and we reluctantly accepted her response and showed up on time. However, once we arrived we noticed the full waiting room and commenced playing on our phones (wasting time) for 55 minutes until she was seen. On the final (4th) visit, we arrived on time, noticed the ridiculously full waiting room and asked the receptionist the wait time, we were told 30 minutes but thought better of it, cancelled the appointment never to return. As if the systemic wait time wasn't bad enough, the corneal specialist there was going to prescribe my wife steroids to help the inflammation in her eyes. I informed him that my wife was a "steroid responder" meaning, the pressure in her eyes quickly raise to unsafe levels when she uses steroids. He asked what her pressures were and I told him 21 and he replied with "that's not too high" and prescribed her the steroids anyways. Within 2 weeks my wife was seeing black tunnel vision, strange colors and other side effects. We quickly had her see an optometrist (not center for sight) and they reported that she had very dangerously high pressure levels in her eyes (38) and prescribed her something to ease the pressure. In summary, very long delays between appointed times and actually seeing the Dr and risky practices make this place not worth the wait. read more

I called to make an appointment for a simple eye exam for glasses and contacts. I received a phone call a few days later letting me know that my insurance would not cover the cost of the exam, apparently they would only cover medically necessary procedures. I was informed the cost of the exam should be around $90 and another $30 I believe for contacts. I was fine paying $120-130 for an exam. I went to my appointment. It was like any other eye exam I have had in my life. My eyes were never dilated, which I've had done before and expected it this time. It was just a standard exam. A "free lasik" exam was offered. I declined. I go to check out and there is a bit of confusion, but ultimately I pay $95. I'm fine with that, I leave and don't give it a second thought. I just received a bill for that appointment for an ADDITIONAL $190. $285 for an EYE EXAM?? I would have NEVER gone to my appointment had I known this is what they were going to charge me. I cannot get any straight answers. I will not be returning. Avoid this place at all costs. read more
