Colby, Kansas, March 2026 This restaurant is downtown Colby and has street parking that is all free. Inside has very few tables. In the center they have a long table with iced tea, water, plates, silverware, and condiments. You kind of help and serve yourself. There is no wait staff. When you want to order you go to the bar to get your drinks and place your food order. The menu consists of Salad, a few appetizers and pizza and burgers. This place is quite busy for a Thursday night at 7 PM. I ordered boneless wings and cheese bread. My husband ordered a Hawaiian pizza. He had a Coke which comes with free refills and I ordered a dark Porter draft called Frankie. Very light in taste. Undertones of vanilla and sweetness. It was not very cold. So I had to add ice. I did try the pomegranate wheat beer and that was bitter cold. Just the way it should be. The food came quickly. I had eight large boneless chicken wings. I went with barbecue flavor and it was accompanied with large cup of blue cheese. The breading on the chicken was very good. The chicken, however, was extremely tough. Very hard to chew. The small pizza is extremely small. I've seen kids pizzas larger than this. My cheesy bread was not bread at all. It was a small cheese pizza with the sauce served in a cup in the middle of the pizza. The flavor was horrible. It was tough and chewy. The crust was so hard. It really was difficult to eat. There are two dogs, both are labradors. The yellow one is Barley and she is so extremely friendly. The black one is kind, but not ad outgoing. Her name is Maize. I was so excited about coming here. Such great reviews. I hate to be the sour one, but the food here that I tried was not good at all. The beer had good flavor and would have been perfect, if it had been served cold. My suggestion would be for staff to turn the water and tea station to the other side so that when the line at the bar gets long to order, you don't have to apologize for trying to get your drink. Such a simple fix would make a big difference. I also think if they put the T station and condiment station in a different location, they could probably get at least five more tables in the restaurant. As busy as it became, that might be beneficial. I give this three stars. read more

I have been to the original location in Quinter, and enjoyed it. The new location in Colby is even better! Service was on point, friendly, and with a smile. I got the double mushroom smasher burger, the cracklins, and onion rings, and all were fantastic! The beer is unique and delicious which matches the food. When I get back to Colby, this great restaurant is on my list of places to get back to, regularly. Enjoy! read more

We loved loved LOVED this place!! We were passing by Kansas while we were chasing the Big boy and found this amazing brewery/restaurant to stop by for lunch. Wow! Just wow! The beers are amazing here. Much better than all the craft breweries in Florida. And so affordable!! For 6 bucks, you can get a beer sampler of 8 beers. That's about two beers in full. For GREAT beers. Food was also amazing. Very fresh and homemade. We had the pork rinds which are to die for and the fried chicken which was just absolutely amazing. Overall amazing place. I wish this place was in Miami so I could go more often. If you are close by, please stop by! Will not regret it!! read more

You would never know it's here from the outside, but once you get inside it all changes. Everyone is so nice and welcoming! The local beer is great!!. Got a flight which turned out to be the way to try em'. Loved the grilled pineapple and apricot ale. Super mellow and good. Great boneless wings and sauce. Incredible pork rinds....and hands down the best chocolate pie ever! It's not the fluffy kind but the super amazing chocolatey kind. Yum!!!! No photo of the pie...ate it too fast! Came in as a stop on my way to Nashville from California. Had the cracked pepper ale and the steak dinner. The house brew was really good and the steak was cooked perfectly med rare. Doreen the bartender was busy and extremely polite. Great prices and great service. Not sure if I'll ever be back this way but will make it a point to stop again if I am. read more

Wow. WOW. You know when you're scoping for a new place and you see tons of awesome reviews, but then some Debby Downer pops up? Well, listen. I tried to be positive with this experience today. My husband google searched it and the reviews looked great! There are two rooms in the place. One is a bar section but I sat in the dining area. When you walk in, it looks like a 1994 gas station sitting area where you can drink coffee. I was greeted by the waitress that looked like she was having a terrible day. To also mention, I brought my family and my in-laws. We ordered all the beer samples from the menu. It took 30 minutes to get them. The glasses look like someone took a swig from a few of them because of the uneven volumes (see pic posted). I shared with my husband since there were 16 of them, but I was not satisfied with half of them. I felt like I didn't get enough beer to taste the flavors. The waitress was questionable. She was a master of awkward silence, she drank a lot of water and played on her phone in the back of the room. She had a touch of passive-aggressive comments. I didn't see her much. I was relieved. Even though the beer was meh, we ordered food. Everything was fried. I wish I took pictures of the items. My kids ordered chicken tenders and a chicken sandwich. I got the bone-in buffalo Parmesan chicken and my husband ordered bone-out hot wings. He asked the spicy level, and she replied "it is just ketchup and hot sauce." There were so many flags I did not see!! It took over an hour to get the food. There was a small party of four next to us who was having the same experience too. The kids were getting out of hand because we waited so long. We saw our food waiting in the kitchen but again, the waitress was always missing. At some point, I heard the chef in the back yelling at them to get their lives together. I was regretting my decisions at this point. When the food came, our order wasn't correct. One of my kids who ordered a chicken sandwich received a sandwich that she didn't request, so we compromised since there was a difference between two sandwiches (an extra bun). The waitress offered to make her a new sandwich but I didn't want it to be wasted. There were several other mistakes but in the end of all this craziness, we just wanted to quickly leave after that. My kid's chicken tenders were burnt, and my buffalo garlic Parmesan chicken was supposed to be bone-in. It was at the point that I don't want to complain anymore. But...it was overly salty and burnt as well. Seriously?! This whole experience was surreal. Even I can't believe I have been through this. I have never felt the urge to call the Heath department on a business, but this is a place that is risking customer safety. Something is not right. Again, Poor ambiance, poor service, and sketchy kitchen. Please just keep driving into the next town. Just no. Don't even try, man. read more

Husband and I had the pleasure of dining at the Center Pivot yesterday (11/14/20). The staff is small due to Covid, but they're dedicated to getting you the food you order, just how you order it. I had the fish sandwich which I turned into fish & chips by not using the bun, and they have malt vinegar on the side for dipping this luscious fish. Chips (fries) are fresh and hot and delicious. Husband had the patty melt and declared it spot on. We'll be back. read more

We found Center Pivot through a Google Maps search while passing through on the way to Denver. Follow the map directions and you will get there--but it for sure doesn't look like a restaurant when you pull up. Once you're inside you find a clean, friendly atmosphere! The staff are fantastic! And the menu was great--plenty of variety and something for everyone. The special tonight was chicken street tacos and they were delicious. The food is clearly homemade, hot, and fresh--and served with a smile. The owner was there too and stopped to check on our group. It was obvious he's a local guy that takes pride in being a small business in his community! Well done, Center Pivot! If we're ever back this way from Indiana we will stop by again! read more

My boyfriend and I were driving through Kansas and were looking to stop at a brewery in Hays but stumbled upon Center Pivot in our google search. We were a little skeptical based on some of the photos BUT we were so happy we stopped! We each got a flight - 8 beer for $6!! We got to try all the house brews plus 3 others! The place was fairly quiet but the service was great! One of the owners stopped by our table to check on us and make some conversation! He told us about the brewery, asked how we liked the beers and made sure we were taken care of! Definitely something you don't get everywhere! The bathrooms were clean as well! Hidden gem in the Heartland of Americana. Great beer selection including the home brews. The pork rinds were recommended and they didn't disappoint: crispy and perfectly seasoned.
