Told the guys in the shop what was going on. They suggested it was the battery. They lent me their heavy duty battery jumper. How to use it. Truck fired right up. Drove straight back to them. Returned the jumper and bought 2) new batteries. Had to buy 2) because my truck has 2) batteries. It was getting late and dark. I only had channel locks as my only tool. Shop was closed. The man in the store checked on me and loaned me a ladder, tools and flashlight. He was off the clock at the time and ready to go home. That awesome human being stayed until I had both batteries in and made sure the truck started a few times. I am sorry I don't remember his name, but he went above and beyond to help me out. Tried to give him some money repeatedly for helping me out and wouldn't take it. Said it was his pleasure to help me out. So I bought him a 12) pack. This shop/store is a 10 out of 10!!!! The staff was super friendly & helpful, their shop mechanic came to give a quick assessment & we agreed that I would need to get down to Bishop for repairs. Since my van is also my lodging, the staff let me park & plug in for $60/night (great value), until I was ready to make the trip to Bishop. They definitely made an otherwise stressful situation much better, and I'll be happy to stop in again when in town!

I was stranded and needed a tow out of the mammoth scenic loop…read more Juan came in a Jeep (not a tow truck) and was immediately rude because I had no cell service and couldn't answer his calls (though AAA relayed this as well as a friends phone they could call and an exact description of my vehicle and location.) Juan insisted on testing the battery (it was fine, fuel pump clearly failed) and then left me stranded again in sub freezing weather to drive back and ask his boss if they could tow me. After 1hr Juan returned to inform me they couldn't help me at all. I pleaded for him to at least provide me a ride into town so I could get cell service and organize a tow. He refused. Somehow, autopower doesn't allow people in their vehicles...which makes you wonder how they tow anyone. They make them Uber? Fortunately I got in contact with the professionals at Shell in Lee Vining. They confirmed to me that Juan and autopower are notorious for being lazy and not taking on simple jobs. He even shared an anecdote of autopower refusing to help a stranded woman near the hot springs since they "just washed the trucks and don't want to get them dirty". FWIW Lee Vining shell towed me no problem, let me ride in the truck and helped recommend nearby repair shops. Good to see some businesses still care about service. Avoid autopower at all costs. Do not go to this garage!!!! This was the worst experience…read moreanyone could imagine when dropping their car at a garage. I dropped my car at this shop in early February, I called after 3 weeks to get an update and see when it would be done, I asked him if it would be ready for the 14th of march, Juan (the terrible owner) guaranteed me it would be. After not hearing from them I began showing up a few days before to see how it was coming along, he got angry and rude but assured it would be ready. On the afternoon of the 14th, I get my car and he assured me everything was fine, I drove it for about 15 minutes, when the overheating engine light came on. I stopped at a garage to see what happened. This garage never change my radiator or filled my coolant fluid!!!!!! After they had CHARGED ME for it. After arguing with them and waiting for over two hours they came to pick the car and said they would fix it all. On the 23rd of March I finally hear back from them (after they avoided my multiple phone calls), he inform me that my car was ready and that he had driving it to test it. But then send me a text asking for bogus charges, which I said I would not pay. He threatened me after that. So I went to the local police station, where I was lucky enough to run into a police officer who said to have had his car there for over 6 months and he wanted to go check it out himself. Once we arrived there they dropped the charges. I looked at the car, they had changed the radiator this time. But still told me that my car was good. But as a result of their first (of multiple) lie my engine was now flooded with coolant fluid. I filled a report with BAR in order to put some pressure on them. All of that after 7 weeks of wait in short. Avoid this garage at all cost. These guys are CRIMINALS!!!!!

HORRIBLE. I am a…read moreAAA member and the service sent us assistance from a Mr. K tow driver after we lost a tire chain and got stuck on an icy road. We requested a tow take us to a nearby gas station (covered by my membership). We were advised via phone and text that a tow truck would arrive at 10:30 am. After calling AAA Roadside Services multiple times (between 11 and 11:30 AM) to report that the tow truck had not shown up, the truck arrived at 12:15 (3 hours after the initial call and over 1.5 hours after the arranged time). The driver declined to tow us to a gas station! He never exited his truck. After we got neighbors to tow us partially out of the way of a driveway, the tow driver told us to leave the car where it was and "hoped we had a ride home." He did not offer us a ride. After waiting for help for 3 hours, we walked back to our condo, in the snow, for 2 miles. Do not rely on these guys!
