My daughter and I moved to Santa Clarita about a year ago, and I spent a lot of time researching ballet and dance studios in the area before choosing one. Center Stage stood out as one of the more reasonably priced options, and I'm so glad we chose it! My two-year-old absolutely loves the ballet, tap, and tumbling class for ages 2-3. Since she doesn't speak English yet, I was a little worried that she might have trouble following along, but she has such a wonderful time and is always excited to go back. The teachers are incredibly sweet, patient, and welcoming, and they've made her feel so comfortable. The other parents have also been kind and friendly, creating a warm and supportive environment. On top of that, the owner is always pleasant and welcoming. My daughter has been coming to Center Stage Dance Academy since we moved to the area in 2021. We took a little break and came back. My daughter loves the tumbling and jazz classes. The teachers are great and the staff is very responsive when it comes to emails. There is also a portal for you to use when looking at classes, your account, etc. Also, as a working parent, I appreciate that this place actually has wifi when waiting for your child (this is HUGE). The studio just wrapped up a Peter Pan theme recital. It was an amazing production and you can tell how much work the staff and kids put into it. This is our 3rd dance studio and by far it has been the TOP BEST experience not only for my 7 year old but as a parent as well. Center Stage is well organized studio with clear communication & no hidden fees. Every detail is pretty clear. Which has not been my experience at other studios. Each teacher is amazing from the front desk to the classroom. They have a way of connecting with each child. They are all so patient, fair, and caring with each student and parent. They really all love what they do and it shows. The recitals are well put together and amazing to watch. Competition team expectations are clear, organized, and no hidden fees. We found Center Stage Dance Academy during COVID and was very impressed with their online classes. They were teaching my 3-yr-old the proper terms for ballet moves and kept her engaged via Zoom. This place is great Speaking both as a parent and someone who has danced professionally, I am really, really impressed with this studio. The quality of dance instruction and the affordability of this place are *very, very good.* We were satisfied at a previous studio, but decided to try to this place due to the better prices and location, and I was so impressed with how quickly my daughter's technique improved and how her dance vocabulary grew. Night and day. They use the proper French ballet terms, even with the three-year-olds, enough so that my toddler understands and can perform several of them by name. It's not just fluff, they are working to make great dancers. That's a big deal to me. This Studio is the best deal in town. They have a generous make-up policy, they offer costume *rentals* for their dance recitals, which cuts cuts down on costs significantly, and their regular monthly prices are the best we've seen. This studio has a caring, inclusive community. We feel welcome here and not in competition either with other parents or other dancers. They have been kind enough to make accommodations for us due to religious observances, etc. and we know they have done so for other families. If there's an issue, we know that we can bring it to the staff and we will be heard, and we take great comfort in that. We've seen them do the same for others. We have been thrilled to have our daughter be a part of Center Stage Dance Academy! She started at 2 years old and the teachers were so patient and kind as she figured out how to follow directions and mirror the dance moves. Our daughter is autistic and the teachers were so helpful in finding creative tools to help her participate and overcome challenges. My daughter came here for almost a year and was enrolled in the Monday morning class. It was our first experience with a dance studio so we were relatively inexperienced. However, we learned eventually that there are better options out there as far as kids dance studios go. Let me start by saying the staff member at the front desk was ALWAYS friendly, warm and seemed to enjoy her job. I cannot say the same for the teachers. In fact, I can honestly say that I never had one conversation that lasted longer than one word with either of them, the entire year. I never even knew their names. They never smiled, even when smiled at, and never made an effort to interact with any of the parents that came every week and waited outside during class. In addition, it appeared that they were young & inexperienced themselves, as they didn't always seem to be prepared and were teaching the classes on the fly, while discussing their past weekend activities. Inexperience is ok, but when you are providing a service and don't make up for it in effort or kindness, that simply doesn't cut it. The "lobby" only had about 8 seats, it was very small and the classes were behind closed doors. The parents weren't welcomed inside, which I understand can be a huge distraction for the kids, so we had to watch the classes on a small TV monitor that was mounted high up on the wall and it was kinda hard to see. It was challenging to say the least. The end of the year show at West Ranch HS was awesome but I feel like every parent feels that way when they see their kid on stage performing. I sure did. That goal is kinda hard to miss. After the show, we learned that most of the other families weren't happy and were pulling their kids. So after some brief research, we moved over to Star Dance Center and are happier there. Let's hope they make some changes here. read more

My 4yo son has been taking Hip Hop at Center Stage for about seven months now. He loves going, which makes me so happy! He thoroughly enjoys the class which incorporates stretching, choreographed dance (to go along with recitals), freestyle dancing, and some tumbling. All of the teachers are welcoming and friendly. It really feels like a family there without any attitude or snootiness which is comforting. Yes, the viewing area is small, but they've recently mounted a larger TV which allows you to view the kids better in the studio (we were allowed to sit and watch in the studio the first two weeks when starting). The recitals are adorable and I appreciate the low-cost rentals for the outfits instead of being forced to buy an overpriced outfit. Even the photoshoots for the recitals are well managed. The office staff is always helpful and always straight to the point. I also appreciate their concern about following rules and enforcing the appropriate dress code for each dance class. Center Stage has been wonderful for my daughter! Kari is such an experienced and caring teacher and my daughter's tap dancing skills have improved tremendously. (she came from another studio so she already had been dancing for awhile) Kari even gave private lessons to my 2 daughters to help them prepare for a theater dance scene audition which was awesome and definitely helped them be thoroughly prepared for it.
