The space is spotless, well-organized, and the staff make you feel instantly welcome. They've also got snacks and drinks on hand, so there's zero reason to leave once you've settled in. Needless to mention, unlike almost any other board game cafe in the Bay Area, they don't charge you just to sit and play. On top of that, they have a huge collection of comic books, board games, and comics-related items and artifacts available to purchase, so it's easy to walk out with more than you came in for. I love this place so much that it's always hard for me to leave. They close at 7 PM on weekends, and every single week, I find myself wishing I had just a little more time before heading out. If you want a calm, genuinely fun way to spend an afternoon, this is the spot in the entire Bay Area.

Inventory is really thoughtful, they have a fantastic selection of anything a nerdy heart could desire. Definitely recommend. My fiance also comes here for MtG events, and he has nothing but glowing things to say about this place.

Besides the free comic book, the owner has booked a Smash Bros truck, a smashed burgers truck. We tried it, and the burgers were good!! A bit pricey ( 1$ extra for one slice of tomato and 1$ extra for some shredded lettuce ) but they were good! And somebody was selling coffee too. We sat in the car to enjoy our lunch, then went back to the store for more bargains. The bookstore has some outside vendors too. I bought a drawn book for my granddaughter, and they were some lovely bookmarks too. I bought some 3D printed Pokemon toys last year, but I was disappointed that vendor didn't come back. I have not seen many back issues with the exception of wall comics. They have a pretty large area of clearance $1 comics on the left side of the store which seem to be 2-3 years old books. I like that these $1 boxes are on tables and my back appreciates that they are easy to sort through. They also have an inventory of collected editions which includes trade paperbacks, hardcovers, omnibus, and compendiums. The owner Kerry has tried to help me find some obscure current comic books a couple times which I appreciate. The staff have all been helpful and easy to work with. I believe they do a significant amount of business in trading card/game card these days, but still have a respectable comic offering.

First of all not ADA friendly, on the second floor, cramped, and very uncomfortable environment. We were greeted warmly at first, but then guy at the counter, said some condescending words to my wife. When she asked about One Piece sets and learning how to play, he said, " Follow us on Discord, you know what that is right?" She immediately clapped back at him and said, "yep surprisingly I do, and I use social media all the time." So if you want to be treated with disrespect, and treated like you should be cooking in the kitchen, and be a 1950's house wife, well then this is the place for you! A place of bad body odor, cramped spaces and sexist remarks, from this ignorant caveman. - 0/10 Overall: A terrible experience. Do yourself a favor and hit up other shops in Martinez, like DVY Collectibles LLC, much better customer service and very ADA friendly.

We were lucky to find Nor-Cal TCG. They have what my son was looking for and some extra cool stuff too. They had a variety but was surprise to find the Mega Venusaur ex trading cards. What i got excited is that the pricing was very reasonable and cheaper than Amazon. Another reason why I would highly recommend this place is their awesome service, the owner made it extra specially by giving my son a freebie. Although he didnt know how much my son was patient about it he somehow made it valuable for my son that patience pays off. It was an amazing experience for both my son and for myself. I highly recommend this store.

They charge you $8 per person for you to gain access to any board games from the shelves you want to play and you can stay here as long as you like until they're closed. You can also ask to reserve a table and buy one of their game passes to save money! The place is very hectic here. There were many people playing board games with their friends. There weren't many options for me to sit. I didn't want to sit outside. So, I decided to sit indoors. Some of the tables were reserved and some reserved ones are open to patrons who are not part of the reservations until a certain time. For example, I sat at a reserved table until close to 2:30pm, which is when reserved customers will take over the table. There are plenty of food options here: sandwiches, pizzas, pastries, and cafe drinks. There are all sorts of menus there too if you take a look at the chalkboard. One of them happens to be a schedule of activities. I didn't participate in gaming tabletops, but I did try out of their sandwiches and their cafe drinks. The turkey sandwich is good and honey lavender latte tastes sweet. My drink came here 10 minutes more than my sandwich, which is quite odd, because usually sandwiches take longer to prep. Not only that, but drinks take way longer to prep, which I don't know why. I like how the sandwich is prepped with chips sitting at the middle of the silver plate surrounded by sandwich slices. Overall, the experience is great with many people playing board games. I probably should take one of my friends to play board games for experience and get pizza even when I never play board games for years. It'd be an awesome experience!
