    Playing Pandemic at Isle
    Katie P.

We love Isle of Gamers! What a great spot to hang out, play games, make friends, and be nerds! Everyone who works here is so friendly and informative. I especially love Allison and Michelle! My boyfriend and I have gone to Isle multiple times to play games, buy D&D supplies, or attend their events. I am looking forward to the next Mini Painting event (Paint Jam), which happens every other Saturday. Overall, so glad I live close to this place!

Amazing service, plethora of books and games. Only sad part, no yugioh cards but they have everything else!

The only downside was that water was accumulating in the sink, which made it uncomfortable to use. It seems like a small maintenance issue, but it did affect the overall comfort. Aside from that, everything else was good, and we enjoyed our stay.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed at…read more I had been staying here for days on a business booking, then made a separate personal reservation for an extra night. Thursday night the front desk told me to come down Friday morning so they could check me out of one reservation and into the other. I came down Friday morning. They told me I was all set and handed me new water bottles. I spent Friday out. When I came back that evening, a different associate told me I had never been checked in at all. She then asked me for a physical card as though this had always been a known requirement -- after I had been living in this hotel long enough for the staff to know exactly what card situation I was in. It was a game for them, and it cost me an hour standing at the front desk at 10pm. While I waited, I watched her hand out chocolates to white guests and serve them warmly. I got snide remarks, and she repeatedly refused to help me even when I told her I needed to use the restroom. After I insisted repeatedly, she agreed to send me a form to complete online -- but sent it to my work email, despite this being a personal reservation and despite my having told her I didn't have my laptop with me. I submitted the credit card authorization anyway and called down to confirm. She hung up the moment she heard my voice. I called back and she told me to come down and not to show her attitude. Only when I got there did anyone mention that what they actually needed was a new key and an ID check. Nobody said that once, on either call. The room I got was not what I booked. Stained sofa that had been dismantled -- I had to move the pieces and put it back together myself. Drawers left open. No cold water, just a slow drip. The elevators stink and the building is old and badly maintained. I raised all of it with the manager (Kwok Chung) the next morning. He refused to accept any fault and never apologized. His position was that I should have known his own front desk hadn't actually checked me in -- that when his staff told me I was all set, it was on me to work out that they were wrong. His staff never asked me for a card, and he told me I should have offered it anyway. He would not acknowledge that his people were poorly trained or that a guest shouldn't have to compensate for it. Not only were the staff and manager rude and unprofessional -- they are biased, and they treat people differently based on how they look.

Cupertino Hotel - Once again lots of police presence. I believe this happens every weekend. Wouldn't the hotel do a better job screening people staying here?

Upon arrival, I walked into the lobby for check in and was met with an aggressive man shouting at hotel staff about needing a ride. The staff member ignored most of his requests making matters worse and making me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. My room was located on the second floor overlooking the parking lot. The floor had dirt on it and a dead bug. I was concerned about bed bugs and chose to limit my contact with the bed, other than to sleep. The sheets appeared clean, but little things were missed: dust, dirt, fingerprints, watermarks. For the cost of the room and the reviews, I expected much more. I did not use the pool, nor the hot tub. No gym on premises. The continental breakfast was tasty, but no one was checking to see if anything needed refilling. By the time I came down for breakfast, there was only about 1/2 scoop of scrambled eggs. At least 5 guests arrived after me and did not have any eggs. Someone complained to the person working the lobby and food was finally replenished and tables were finally cleaned. I felt this needed more supervision. The elevator has not been inspected in years per the signage posted. A temporary permit was granted through August 2025, but had lapsed by my May 2026 visit. The hotel is closely located near a grocery store, several restaurants within driving distance, and a highway. Overall, this hotel isn't worth the money they are charging. Safety and convenience are important to me, and convenience was the only real positive.

Huge shoutout to Luz for wonderful service and interactions throughout the stay. Super happy about complimentary parking although I do wish the walk to get back to your property was a bit more direct and shorter distance. Even though the rooms and the amenities or nothing too special, definitely happy to return to stay at the location for short periods of time in the future.

Great clean stay to end our honeymoon!…read more My wife and I stopped in San Jose to soak in one more day on our honeymoon along California. We chose the Residence Inn San Jose Cupertino for its proximity to the 280, and were pleasantly surprised to see it was centrally located in Main Street Cupertino (restaurants and dessert shops galore). Karen at the front desk was very welcoming, and upon learning we were on our honeymoon, sent up a surprise gift with a lovely hand written note. Our Studio 1 King, Sofa bed room was clean and spacious, and immediately earned our Poodle approval. Odd number rooms face the Main Street area, whereas even number rooms face the parking lot (something to keep in mind during check in). The true highlight was the restaurant's free breakfast, with a plethora of traditional breakfast options and additional items such as organic chocolate milk, fresh roasted potatoes, and various nuts. A few extra highlights included: late checkout of 1pm, pet relief area, and an expansive patio area which had plenty of couches, a fireplace, and tables. Overnight parking is at a nearby parking garage (free). Highly recommend the Residence Inn San Jose Cupertino for a clean, centrally located stay with an excellent complimentary breakfast buffet.
