Outstanding barbecue. Delicious!!!! The ribs, pulled pork, and brisket were divine and the sauce was transcendent.

One of the best BBQ meals I've had in a long time. The food was so good. I'm in disbelief at the low rating on YELP. I couldn't disagree more with what people have said. I hope everyone gets to sit in Drew's section because he was a great server! Just a beautiful soul! My food was delicious as I got two 3 meat platters in order to try all the meat options. Brisket was tender and had an amazing outside bark. Ribs were delicious. Chicken was seasoned beautifully. Kielbasa was awesome. Pulled chicken was alright. Mac n cheese was good, not great, but good. Cinnamon apples tasted like pie! Cornbread was great especially with the maple butter! The baked sweet potatoe was to die for! This place is decorated pretty cool and it is spotless clean. Our server was great- friendly and helpful with the menu. We tried the ribs and some smoked wings. The wings were huge and perfectly smoked. There were 3 bbq sauce choices on the table. Their signature flavor was my favorite. The ribs were also large and good. The mac and cheese was the worst part of our dinner. It was very flavorless and like clay. We did order the baked sweet potato and it had some good maple butter on it. The side was a half of the potato, but it was fine for two people. We did order some cornbread with the maple butter not knowing they give you some cheddar biscuits for free. The cornbread was amazing. It was a bit overcooked but when cooked right it would be the best around. The bonus of the meal was the free cheddar biscuits. They were just like the red lobster ones. Got seated immediately. We came to try out their all you can eat buffet. The waitress was prompt and took our drink and food order. One buffet and one brisket Mac and cheese. 40 minutes later, still no brisket Mac and cheese. I guess there was a party upstairs and the kitchen "got behind".... In a Friday night. We had made a reservation, so we were able to be seated and enjoy a very delicious meal of pulled pork, beef brisket, mac and cheese, corn bread. We also enjoyed a few cocktails. Center Street is open randomly which complicates eating here. We got some grilled wings which were good, and it comes with their version of cheddar bay biscuits when you sit down. Good thing because nothing here is very fast. The pulled chicken was dry and drowning in cumin, tasted mexican and not like bbq. The pulled pork was also pretty dry. Brisket was average at best. They offer too many sides, in my opinion, for only being open one day a week they should just shorten their menu and get great at a few things. Mac & cheese was good but not memorable. Very puzzled by some of the reviews on Yelp... I enjoyed everything about my experience at Center Street Smokehouse! Food was great, as well as the service and ambiance. It has been a while since I paid less than $35 for dinner for 2 people ... I ordered the fish fry which came with two very generous sides of my choice (I picked sweet potato fries and corn bread and let me tell you, they were delicious!) and my companion had a pulled pork sandwich with a side of bourbon beans. We stopped by on a Saturday to use a meal deal from an app called Local Flavor that was close to expiration. I think it was $20 for $40 worth of food. The restaurant itself has a really cool vibe and an awesome looking bar area. The bartender who waited on us was awesome. He was extremely attentive and made our dinner more enjoyable! My husband and I ordered a 3 meat combo with ribs, pulled pork and brisket. The sides were hush puppies and smashed potatoes. My husband ordered a Hayburner beer and a BBQ burger with a side of dirty rice and extra hush puppies to take home. The bill before the discount was a little over $40. Decent price for the amount of food. Before your food arrives, you are given complimentary cheesy biscuits. They were soft and pretty good. Although, I prefer the red-lobster style ones...haha! We used a couple of their house-made BBQ sauces to dip the biscuits in. One was dark, sweet and had a molasses flavor while the other was tangy with more vinegar and a lot of spices. The burger and rice were okay. The burger was not overly flavorful and the roll was kind of gummy and soggy. I wasn't into it unless I drenched it in their homemade BBQ sauce. The rice was pretty good but I prefer Cajun style dirty rice because it's more flavorful. I'll give the burger a C. The 3 meat combo was pretty good and I'd grade it a B+ because those hush puppies were really good and the ribs were tasty. I do a lot of my own smoking/grilling, so I feel like I can be pretty honest in my review here. The brisket was nice and tender with only a hint of smoke flavor. I prefer a nicer smoke ring but again with enough sauce, it was tasty. The pulled pork was a bit dry until I sauced it up and then it was good. The ribs fell off the bone and were pretty tender. I appreciate the option of ribs with a dry rub, so I can choose to add sauce or not. These were a little on the dry side but I enjoyed the flavor and fat to meat ratio. The potatoes were okay but nothing to get excited about. I'd suggest BBQ saucing them up too! The hush puppies were so good, had a major crunch but were soft in the middle. went to this restaurant for the 2nd time last Friday. We dined with another couple also their 2nd time there. The food was fantastic! Our waitress who is also the manager was great . The service was perfect . I cannot say enough nice things about this restaurant. I just wish it was a little closer to home. I look forward to the next time that we will go there. We stopped in on a whim as we were in the area on Sunday. Big group of us... 12 of us. There wasn't a big staff on hand but they were all great! Bartender served us quickly and was very friendly. I have to give a shout out to our waiter, David! He did a fantastic job getting our orders down and then out to the table. The location is great. Right in the center of Batavia, but off the main drag. Easy parking in the lot right on the corner. The atmosphere is cool! Long tables, stage for bands, some "antique" furniture and just a cool place in general. The food was amazing! I'd put it right up there with Dinosaur BBQ! In fact I think the ribs we had were better than Dinosaur! They have 4 different sauces to enhance your meal. We ordered the combo platter (3 meats) with pulled pork, ribs and chicken. You can get 2 sides with that and it's only $19.99. Great portion! 2 of us didn't finish it (so I got to take it home for lunch the next day.. woot!) Price - 3 Ambience - 4 Food - 2 Service - 3 I try to avoid bad reviews, but I think that this place could be so much more. The chicken was very dry, and the ribs tasted at least a day old. The cornbread should be renamed to corn cake; it was as big as a piece of cake and crumbly. The best items were the potato bombs, the biscuits, and the hush puppies. The beer selection was horrible. You would think that a smokehouse today would have a better selection; being a smokehouse you expect a good draft menu. Being a smokehouse, in Batavia, it just seems like a missed opportunity. The place itself was super nice. We received a gift certificate for this place for Christmas and I'm glad we did. Without it, we would have been upset that we came here, more than we already were. Been coming here at least once or twice a year for the last 5 or so years. Not the best BBQ in Western NY but definitely the best deal out there for very solid bbq and even better sauces. Had a double date there a few days ago and was introduced for the very first time to a new dipping sauce to go with their cheese bread by our waitress. I enjoyed that savory taste but actually prefer to still use the maple butter to get the sweet and savory contrast. We tried a few non-bbq items ordering family style and were quite pleased with them too. See posted pics for everything we liked....the only things we didnt care for this time were the french fries. The only problem I have is everytime I go....I just gotta have the bbq ribs and brisket....but I see other diners order a mouth watering steak that I'd love to try. This is one of my favorite places for smoked meat. I first came here with a Groupon and I have been here 3 times, I have tried the brisket, pulled pork with their vinegar based BBQ sauce, ribs, prime rib, sweet potato, coleslaw, house salad, grilled veggies, cornbread and everything has been delicious, the service is excellent and friendly the atmosphere is great, this place is located in Batavia, but it is well worth the drive and the price is right. Overpriced for the meagre amount of food. I had chicken with dirty rice. The food was luke warm at best. The chicken very dry. Husband had pig platter, said tasted ok ish. But overpriced and barely even warm. The food truck came to our campground we are staying at and we were the first to be served, so would have expected the food to be warmer and at least taste fresh. This is a great place to eat in Batavia! The food there is always so good! My only wish is that they gave a little bit more meat for the portions. Inside is really unique and they have an upstairs balcony where you can be seated to dine too. It's usually always busy in there, so if you don't like to wait, I recommend ordering out. This is my first visit to this location in Batavia. The interior is rustic and has a lot of pig decorations, which I found amusing. The server was friendly and personable. The menu was varied and interesting. I ordered brisket and ribs, along with a side of Mac and cheese, and deviled eggs. The service time was long, and the bread/rolls that were served prior were not very good tasting. The eggs were pretty good, the Mac and cheese was cold. The brisket was ok, but not seasoned enough or cooked long enough either. The meat on the ribs was on the dry side, and as I suspected they would - tasted better cold the next day. I was really excited to try this place and when I pulled up I noticed a lot of cars in the lot and street surrounding it. I figured it must be amazing if all these cars were here but I left a bit disappointed. The place itself looks huge from the outside but the inside isn't that big. You first walk into the bar area and then the restaurant with a few booths is separate and some seating upstairs as well. It's very open so it's loud and I can't imagine how it would be if the bar was busy or there was a performance (I'm assuming this because there was a stage set up) going on. The meal started with complimentary biscuits they were small and tasted like garlic knots so pass on this rx Because I drove from buffalo to come here and wasn't sure when I would be back I knew we should order a bunch of things to try them. We ordered a few appetizers to start, the loaded tator tots which was just bacon and minimal cheese with a side of ranch- very basic. Then we tried the loaded potato balls and they were ok but lacked flavor. I went with the 2 meat meal (brisket and pulled pork) which came with 2 sides (my choice mashed potatoes and Mac n cheese). The brisket was cold and very tough to chew soooooo disappointing ! But the puked pork was the best I've had and the bbq sauces on the table added good flavor to it as well. The mashed potatoes were blah and the Mac n cheese was ok but they used a small elbow noodle it looked like kraft with extra butter added to appear homemade. They should beef it up with a better noodle and more cheese. I also will give credit to the large beer options although they should offer a drink menu instead of having someone rattle off 20+ quicker than you can process it. I just want to start off by saying, I hate giving bad reviews...especially in the BBQ world. I root for the BBQ joints in WNY/Buffalo. The BBQ scene in Buffalo is still trying to find itself and trying to find an identity. The BBQ in Buffalo is just okay, having been to places like Lewis BBQ, Franklin BBQ, and Rodney Scott's BBQ, Buffalo has a long way to go. Center Street smokehouse seems to be a beloved Batavia favorite. I was excited for it because any place in WNY that serves a brisket, I am in. To be honest, the only reason I heard about this place was because of the free cheddar biscuits (which by the way were good). And so, I had to try the bbq. When given my platter of bbq feast, I immediately have to go for the brisket. Brisket in bbq is the holy grail, it's the rolls Royce of slow smoked goodness. Immediately I knew something was wrong. When I picked up a slice, it didn't pass the "pull test", aka, it wasn't tender enough to pull apart with ease with your fingers. In fact, it wasn't tender at all. I even had trouble cutting it with a knife. How could this be possible? It's almost as if it wasn't cooked long enough internally to melt those connective tissues to make a tender cut of beef. Every slice of brisket my girlfriend and I had it was all like that. I just couldn't stomach to finish the brisket, which is unacceptable. It just wasn't good, at all. It was my first time there and I'm not sure if it's always like that, but brisket should be like butter, soft, tender, and juicy. I was severely disappointed. The ribs were okay, slightly dry, but had good smoke flavor and a good rub on them. But again, these weren't as juicy as they should have been. The pulled pork was just okay, it was covered in additional rub which is good but it sort of hides pork flavor and almost trying to add additional flavors that don't really need to be there. And at the bottom there just was a pool of fat grease. Which was sort of unpleasant. The chicken was probably the best meat on the plate. It was good, had a little smoke flavor, the seasonings on it were a little bland for me, I could use more rub on these chickens before throwing them on the pit. The corn bread was not good. It was so dry, to the point where it was sucking all the saliva out of my mouth. I know what you're thinking, CORN BREAD IS SUPPOSED TO BE DRY. No, it's not. Properly baked corn bread to the correct temperature and rested is moist and decadent. This corn bread, was not. The maple butter on top of it too I wasn't a fan of either. The Mac and cheese was just okay, it was a little buttery. And surprisingly lacked a lot of cheese for my liking. Overall, I can't give this place any more than one star. The brisket was amongst the worst I have ever had, anywhere, in the country. The ribs were just okay, pulled pork was just okay. The best thing I had were probably the cheddar biscuits. Also, I'd like to point out that their 2 house bbq sauces (Batavia style, and smokey sauce) were excellent. I even asked to take some sauce home. Again, I hate giving bad reviews, I'm just being honest and I hope they find this review and consider my criticism. I can't see myself returning anytime soon, but if they make a change in the way they cook their meats, and for the better, I would definitely return. Until then, I will avoid this place, and I recommend those reading for the same. read more

The commercial for this place says "she wanted BBQ, so where did you send her", and the response is "we sent her to Center!" I suppose someone thinks that's clever. Not as clever as making up bad taglines for non-existent commercials on Yelp reviews, you might say. Or not. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. Yes it was nice that they were open on a very stormy night when everyone else was closed. And yes the coupon definitely helped with regards to the price. But the barbecue food was at once tasteless, and dry, and basically every item on the menu was not what I wanted it to be. I've probably been spoiled by all of the southern BBQ joints I've had. In fact, I won't really order BBQ up north anymore... unless it's at one specific place in Buffalo which deserves to be in the south. By the way, I got sent abuse for posting this review. We came here on a Sunday for dinner. The place looked dead. There was Noone upstairs, and we had a 20 minute wait. After 25 min, we were sat and had to wait for menus. Menus came and the. The waitress says, they are out of brisket (the reason we came), they are almost out of ribs and almost out of chicken. I ordered French onion soup which had seasoned croutons as the bread. Croutons should not be in a french onion soup. They packed them in there so that most of the broth was soaked up in them. I ordered wings, wings were ok. I asked for them to be extra saucy, and she must have heard very little sauce. I was not impressed. This was our third time there. I've never been happy after leaving.. There was one bartender working and making complicated drink orders, so I knew he was busy. But, when he was done, he came and took my fiancé's drink order, but never asked for mine. My fiancé had to order my drink because he went about making other people's drink without asking what I wanted. Not a good first impression. It took them a while to seat us which was odd because they weren't busy. The hostess said she was getting our table ready, but it took her like 10 minutes and by the time we sat, it obviously was a poor job done because there were no napkins on the table and it was only two tables pushed together. How did it take so long? Nevertheless, i wasn't too upset by this. It was our server, Joeylyn, who definitely made our experience the worst. I am a bartender/server, so sorry, but, she was not pleasant to have as a server. She made it seem like she had something better to do than to take care of us. She was rude, impolite and didn't really care about us. We'd ask her questions and she'd short answer us. I had purchased a voucher off of Living Social to use, $25 worth of food for $12, but wasn't able to use it because it was for per table rather than per check which isn't okay. Their policy makes no sense since we were separate checks. We also watched as other servers touched their faces and phones and then touched FOOD WITHOUT GLOVES in an open kitchen. We are sitting at Red Rock Ponds waiting with 140 other campsites for you to show up. We were planning on you for dinner. At 4 o'clock you called and said your truck was in the shop. Customer service was just as bad as the food! Spent over 100 on 4 meals, all the food tasted the same TOO MUCH LIQUID SMOKE. That's all you tasted! Extremely dry, every meat has its own taste but not here. Pulled chicken, pork and ribs all tasted like liquid smoke HEAVY. So much so we literally were in the restroom for days and the food all 100 dollars of it THROWN AWAY! Will never go there again, or recommend. Awful experience all ways around. read more

It's Tuesday evening and there are very few people here, and the sign says please wait to be seated, so I wait and wait..... I'm finally seated, receive my menu, and I wait and wait again, and I bet only 3 tables are occupied. I did have plenty of time to scan the menu. So I finally got to order, and the food was good. I got the Shecrab soup and Texas brisket. The soup was really good, as were the muffins that came with the meal. The brisket, along with the accompanying cinnamon apples was good. Whoever claims that this place has good BBQ has obviously never had anything close to actual BBQ. The food here was bland at best. Everything was dry and/or over cooked. Service was extremely slow. My expectations were low beforehand and this place did just about everything it could to ensure my already low expectations were not met. On a positive note, the kids menu offerings all came served with generous portions. The rotisserie chicken kids meal looked better than any of the adult entrees ordered at our table. However, looks can be deceiving as even this turned out to be extremely dry. So dry in fact that the youngster who was trying to eat it literally choked on it while trying to swallow down this bone-dry chicken.
