    Chicken Fried Steak

Wow! Just Wow!! This place is every home town cafe you see in the movies. Home cooked food, neighborly staff and a chill place to drink coffee all day vibe. This was our first time here and the owner came up to our table and made us realize what a small world we live in. (We live a couple hours away!) And the employees look like they are having so much fun working there. You can tell they choose to work here. The bar is perfect for quick eaters dining alone. And the food comes out super quick, I don't think we waited more than 7 minutes after we ordered before our food came out. It was hot, delicious and probably the best chicken fried steak we have ever had. Perfect amount of gravy and a pile of hashbrowns with eggs and toast. Of course I couldn't finish it all so next time I'll get the smaller 4oz cut of chicken fried steak. My kids enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. Huge portions. When we are back in town, we will definitely be coming back in.

Best chicken fried steak , eggs , hashbrowns and sausage gravy on the planet!

I'll make it simple, I'm 75 years old and Centerville Cafe has the very best chicken fried steak ( with eggs and hashbrowns and sausage gravy) that I have ever had , period! ( And I have had a lot of chicken fried steak in my lifetime)

Delicious chicken fried steak breakfast. $13.99 and a big portion! (I smothered it with habanero hotsauce)

One of the best breakfast diners in Centralia to grab chicken fried steak! Been here 2-3 times and the quality is consistent. Everything tastes pretty fresh, the meat seems like good quality (not greasy) and the sausage gravy is top quality to me. Sat at the counter on a Tuesday afternoon and the staff are very friendly as usual here. The server named Kylie (sp?) is really friendly and cool to talk to. The diner is also very spacious and clean. Decent prices. And fun to see how all the locals coming in know each other.

eggs benedict and griddle cake combo

Came hoping for a good, classic brunch meal and Centerville Cafe did not disappoint! Everyone was so kind and energetic, and food came out quickly. I have high expectations for pancakes (or griddle cakes) and theirs was so fluffy, I was tempted to get a second but the first in the combo was huge! My partner loved the eggs benedict - super generous with the hollandaise which was creamy and savory.

Personally, it wasn't MY favorite place in Centralia for breakfast, but I'm glad to say I tried it. Service was awesome! Food came quick! Menu I just felt lacked options, but again, that may just be me. Very cute little retro feely diner though. They serve breakfast and lunch. You can grab a bite and hit some antique stores. Perfect spot to begin your shopping day in downtown Centralia. The part I enjoyed the most was wide open space with lots of seating, so it's not too crowded. Bathrooms were clean. Felt like it could use a bit more decor throughout the restaurant though. But overall, great experience with a great price too!

We absolutely LOVE the Centerville Cafe and its friendly, inviting, and warm environment! We have been there twice for breakfast and both times the staff have been welcoming and the food delicious! The first time we were there it was on our son's birthday and they helped make him feel like a million bucks! He ordered a waffle and bacon and not only was it baked perfectly and loaded with whipped cream ... they decorated it with a smiley face and made a big deal about it being his birthday (he's 4, so it was a big time hit!). We also had French Toast, eggs, and sausage. Everything was sooo good. The French Toast was wonderful - a light crisp to the edges and soft & chewy on the inside. With powered sugar and syrup, oh my! Eggs were cooked perfectly as well and the sausage was great. When we came back again, it was for breakfast too and our son had a pancake and bacon. He said it was Mmm, yummy (high praise from him). My wife had the weekend special of Eggs Benedict. That is one of her all-time favorite breakfast items and she said it was one of the best she's ever had -- everything prepared to perfection. I chose the Biscuits and Gravy (one of my favs) and it was great! Four large, fluffy, and warm biscuits swimming in delicious sausage gravy. My mouth is watering again as I write about it. Bottomless coffee was amazing too. Just the flavor and roast you'd expect in a family-own diner like this. Loved it. We will certainly be back again ... next time, we're going for lunch! Walking past it on the sidewalk during the day - the burgers smelled amazing!!!

Oh my goodness!! This newer home town gem is the most underrated hot spot for breakfast. If you're reading this, you'll be happy you got past the few options along 1-5. They knocked the chicken and waffles out of the ball park! Two types of sauce, including one spicy. The waffle and chicken were flavorful and fresh. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs. It was stick to your rib's DELICIOUS. The gravy screamed of grannies home cooked sausage gravy and the breading on the chicken fried steak was tasty! Service was fast and friendly. Clean, great seating options, with a home town vibe. Even has the classic twisty bar stools at the counter. They had cinnamon rolls and pastries at the counter for sale as well. We ended up there after reading their 6am Fb post w/ the daily special. Will definitely be back!!

My boyfriend and I have been here once but only to check it out as we were coming up from Oregon…read more We have visited the Olympia location and have done trivia, ordered food and drinks and hung out at the location. We wanted to participate in the video game trivia that was hosted at the Centralia one and we decided to stop by 30ish minutes before they started at 7 which they did start on the dot. When you arrive, you go through the restaurant first and you are able to seat yourselves then wait until a server notices to drop off menus and take your order. The menu can be a bit confusing as they have some drink items on the regular menu and a secret menu and limited menu with food or dessert on the drink menu. It took a little bit to get noticed but we got a Hogwash potion and a Yoshi's Island for drinks as we had just had dinner elsewhere as the food prices here a bit much and not worth price but their video game or other nerdy themed drinks which some can be mocktails are fantastic. My boyfriend's Hogwash potion didn't take long and it was cool to see it opened with vapors coming out. My drink took much more time but it felt like it was more ice than anything as I felt like I had maybe four sips before it was all good. The trivia was great but they were having mic issues but it was also just hard to hear the host as we were sitting on the opposite end of where the host was. There are TVs that have the questions so that was very helpful. The service here is friendly but it would have been nice to be checked on more as I wanted to order another drink but their loss, I suppose. My boyfriend and I ended up getting first place but I'm also a little sad cause I didn't see a way to get points for our order today as I know they have a Toast reward system.

Being arcade it had a fun lively atmosphere. There's quite a few different menu options. We decided on a stuffed caramelized onion and provolone burger and a side of onion rings. It was really good. We chose a side of fries to go with the burger, as you get to choose one side and we ordered the onion rings separately. I'm not trying to be petty but when you order both fries and onion rings and you're asked if you want any sauce to go with it I don't think you should be charged. They both should come with at least 1 sauce per side. The cocktail menu looked really good with fun signature cocktails. The place was clean and friendly staff. Will come back.

I had the Pesto Caprese pizza and it was amazing! The balsamic glaze added just the right amount of sweetness to bring together the different flavors. My husband had the NY steak and said it was delicious and cooked to perfection. Our server was very attentive and told us how all the ingredients were locally sourced, which is very good to hear because we like to support local businesses. Lastly, the building is quite beautiful with the exposed brick interior walls. I'm not familiar with the local history so I'm curious as to what this building was originally? We will definitely come back and also check out the market next time.

So Bad It Was Almost Comical…read more My wife and I stopped here for lunch on our drive from Oregon to Seattle. The parking lot was completely full, so after circling around and eventually finding street parking, we figured the place must be popular. Unfortunately, that turned out to be the high point of the experience. The main restaurant was fairly full, so we were seated in a large, dark bar area in the back. And then... nothing happened. For more than 30 minutes. Eventually, a waiter appeared and took our order. Then another 30+ minutes passed before the food arrived. Somehow, even our iced tea didn't make it to the table until the food did. All told, we spent roughly an hour sitting at an empty table without so much as a beverage, and about 90 minutes from the time we arrived until we actually had food in front of us. At that point, the whole experience was becoming almost comical. We ordered a cod burger with fries, a Caesar salad, onion rings and an iced tea. The cod burger was okay. Nothing memorable, but edible. The Caesar salad was actually good. The fries, however, arrived cold, soggy and thoroughly greasy -- quite an accomplishment considering how long we waited for them. The onion rings apparently embarked on a separate journey altogether, because they never arrived. By then, we'd lost the will to ask about them and just gave up. The grand total for one cod burger with cold fries, a small Caesar salad and an iced tea? $40.00! We mentioned the long wait, forgotten food and other problems to our waiter. He was sympathetic and explained that they were short staffed, which we understand can make things difficult. But being short staffed doesn't make a 90-minute lunch, no drinks for an hour, cold soggy fries and forgotten food any less disappointing -- especially at those prices. By the end, we weren't even angry. The whole thing had crossed over into comedy. Needless to say, on future drives between Oregon and Seattle, we'll be finding a different midway lunch stop.

My boyfriend told me that anytime he passes by that the parking lot is always filled, and even when we were coming in, the parking lot was full and there were definitely some interesting parking choices made by others. The staff here are on point with checking in at the perfect times and they always do a sweep for coffee and water refills, to see if anyone needs anything or anything else. They are also so friendly and seem to know their regulars well too. The bathroom is well-maintained and even has a changing station.
