So it's not secret when you visit here that there's a little perk for writing a review on google but here's the review I'm writing after I got home in more detail, not benefits attached. This place is definitely worth the visit. This arcade themed restaurant has both a good selection of typical modern arcade games in the dedicated space next doors and also all the retro games you might be looking to reminisce again with on the food side. The large retro arcade games in the back of the restaurant are free but they also have tv's and controllers attached to tables so you can enjoy a game while sitting down and waiting for your food. Our group had wings, garlic fries, and pizza and all three menu items were superb. Even if you're not a fan of games, the food alone is worth a trip here. They use actual garlic for the garlic fries and a generous amount at that. On the modern arcade side, about 10% of the games seemed out of service but enough were available that I didn't have a shortage of things I wanted to try. There are lots of families visiting here and if you're on the modern arcade side be sure to share the space, the retro side was a bit more empty but this was on a saturday morning, night traffic is probably much different. read more

My boyfriend and I have been here once but only to check it out as we were coming up from Oregon. We have visited the Olympia location and have done trivia, ordered food and drinks and hung out at the location. We wanted to participate in the video game trivia that was hosted at the Centralia one and we decided to stop by 30ish minutes before they started at 7 which they did start on the dot. When you arrive, you go through the restaurant first and you are able to seat yourselves then wait until a server notices to drop off menus and take your order. The menu can be a bit confusing as they have some drink items on the regular menu and a secret menu and limited menu with food or dessert on the drink menu. It took a little bit to get noticed but we got a Hogwash potion and a Yoshi's Island for drinks as we had just had dinner elsewhere as the food prices here a bit much and not worth price but their video game or other nerdy themed drinks which some can be mocktails are fantastic. My boyfriend's Hogwash potion didn't take long and it was cool to see it opened with vapors coming out. My drink took much more time but it felt like it was more ice than anything as I felt like I had maybe four sips before it was all good. The trivia was great but they were having mic issues but it was also just hard to hear the host as we were sitting on the opposite end of where the host was. There are TVs that have the questions so that was very helpful. The service here is friendly but it would have been nice to be checked on more as I wanted to order another drink but their loss, I suppose. My boyfriend and I ended up getting first place but I'm also a little sad cause I didn't see a way to get points for our order today as I know they have a Toast reward system. read more

Spent the day browsing antique shops in Centralia and was looking for a place to get a bite to eat. This place came as a recommendation from one of the local shops. Being arcade it had a fun lively atmosphere. There's quite a few different menu options. We decided on a stuffed caramelized onion and provolone burger and a side of onion rings. It was really good. We chose a side of fries to go with the burger, as you get to choose one side and we ordered the onion rings separately. I'm not trying to be petty but when you order both fries and onion rings and you're asked if you want any sauce to go with it I don't think you should be charged. They both should come with at least 1 sauce per side. The cocktail menu looked really good with fun signature cocktails. The place was clean and friendly staff. Will come back. read more

They have really good food that are decently priced, great drinks and can't mention the free classic games! Came here because I love arcades and this place met my expectations. Never had a stuffed burger before, but will definitely come back again just to have another. I have to mention the Totchos! When you have tater tots, nacho cheese and taco meat all together that is heaven! The best in town! Seriously, pizza and beer does not get any better than here at Insert Coin! The joint is set up into two separate spaces connected with an opening. On one side is the bar and restaurant - the other is a full scale arcade! The restaurant side also has arcade games and these are free and straight out of the 80's and 90's. The true arcade side is a pay to play space. First, the food. Delicious! Their pizza is truly the best in Centralia - wonderful crust, fresh ingredients (some coming from a local butcher), and tasty tasty. Have also gotten a burger here (again, beef from the local butcher) and it's equally good! You'll need to order the large, soft pretzel too. With the mildly spicy nacho cheese, it's a perfect addition to the Zaaa. Now, let me tell you about the beer wall. That's right ... a beer wall. Get your prepaid card and step up to the wall of draft beers and ciders. Get a glass, pick your brew, slide your card in the slot, and fill it up. Take as much or as little as you'd like. When the card is empty of funds, fill that up too. Lastly, of the four booth-like tables in the main restaurant there is a wall mounted TV with old school video games for you to play (think Atari, Nintendo, and Sega). This place has some great food and beer. My wife and I dropped off our 11yo grandson for a birthday party here, and we were hungry. We had two hours to kill so we bellied up for the bar. They have beer taps along the wall with a great selection including ciders. You get a card for the taps with a debit card down payment. They have these cool rinsers. Pay by the ounce. Love day drinking! The stuffed cheese burger with bacon and cheese was fucking delicious. Wow! A perfect burger. Fresh. Tasty. And the fries were hot and seasoned. Just a few reasons I did not go to 5 stars: the bartender this afternoon was not really helpful or friendly and not engaging. What a great find on our road trip back up to Seattle from CA. My kids loved playing the sega game at the table and all the fun free arcade games in the restaurant area. We had the most delicious vegetarian pizza and were refueled with food and fun for the last bit of our trip north. Service was super friendly and welcoming. We have been here a few times with different friends and family, always on a Saturday evening. One time just because we were bar hopping. One time for giggles. The past trip was to actually sit and eat and play games. This is not the place to go for conversation and expect a gourmet meal. Four of us got burgers, and the appetizer platter. Two of us had the stuffed mac and cheese burger, and we had the same opinion, it's not as expected, kinda a let down. I only could eat half of it. The kitchen is tiny, so you know everything is cooked in the same fryer. Our server was nice, the bartender was nice, the person trying to seat those with buzzers waiting for tables not so much. What a fun place! I'm local and by chance thought what the hell, I'll check it out. Talk about fun!!! I spent the day there, with my husband and son. My friends and I love Insert Coin! For Centralia being small and there not being a crazy amount to do here, this was a wonderful addition if your looking for a simple night out. The staff is wonderful, drinks are great, and the food is okay. Their grill closes around 9/10pm normally, so we always miss out on the food, but the times we have been able to make it, it's been good. Their beer wall (they also have ciders) is a must do! You purchase a card that will be inserted into the wall then you put your glass under and fill up a drink. The drink cards only get you about 2 drinks, then you will need to refill your card, but it's still so worth the experience. The only reason I give it four stars, even though I truly love this place, is because it's just a tad too small and not enough engaging games, I guess. Sort of like a penny arcade (if those are still a thing lol). I typically spend about $20 on coins, which lasts me about 30 minutes and for not an insane amount of tickets, or no tickets at all. I enjoy the vintage aspect to it, but tickets are always fun too. We were really trying to save up for the Xbox One they had, but the amount of tickets you needed to get it would've taken us about half a year to get. Also, there could be some better prizes in my opinion. Still, aside from those minor things, I love Insert Coin and will continue to return for small date nights or time to myself. used to have a really good, well cooked burger, nice sear and char on the outside, perfectly medium on the inside as requested, kept me goin back multiple times. HOWEVER, they have since changed to this giant, mushy, gross, freezer patty that is just, not good... had it the last 2 times ordered and both times it was pretty disgusting, just a meat flavored sponge of a patty. EDIT: just tried their meat lovers pizza, probably saved my food experience as it was one of the better pizzas I've ever had so bumpin from 1 star up to 3 star, the crust edge and some of the toppings were a bit overdone while the underlying crust itself was cooked well so leads me to believe their oven temps are just a bit too high but it's negligable, the taste and value you get from this giant delicious pizza more than makes up for any nitpicky negatives I can give. read more

What a fun place! My friends and I decided to try out the trivia night, we had a blast! The servers were wonderful and the food super good! One side is a big room filled with arcade games and the other a food & bar area. The whole place is game oriented. We tried the pizza, very good! I really love the idea of this place and made the drive down from Olympia to check it out with my boyfriend and daughters. It was fun to see old school video games and we laughed and played them while waiting for our food. We tried to get beer and ciders but they were having issues with their machines so we had to get up and down several times thinking they had the issue resolved. We had to get new cards a couple of times and then they had to reset their computers. Our food had come out by the time the machines were working again so we didn't get to enjoy all the flavors we would have liked. The pizza was not good. I do not recommend at all. Burger and tots were decent. The arcade was really fun and we enjoyed all of the games. My daughter hit a huge jackpot and won a ton of tickets so that was super fun until she got up to the prize counter - pretty crappy prizes really. They are great if you are four years old but not much for anyone older than that unless you are willing to save your tickets for a bazillion years. I don't expect them to babysit everyone but there were a few teenaged kids running around being ridiculously inappropriate with foul language and what they were talking about (talking about anal sex, etc). There were a few employees around whom I thought heard it but they never addressed it. All told, I don't have a hankering to go back but I have had worse Saturday nights. read more

This place is amazing. It has that retro arcade feel but new, and no sticky floors. The food was incredibly good. I had a caramelized onion and provolone burger with garlic aioli and tater tots. The burger came medium well by default and was the perfect balance of juicy and flavorful. We sat at a table that had a tv, two controllers, and a selection of retro games. My kids were thrilled. Speaking of kids, I was initially hesitant to go here because I was unsure if they allowed kids since it is also a bar. But they have a sign out front that says all ages are welcome until 9pm. I visited this awesome spot in Washington a couple of weeks ago and was surprised to find that it's not just a kids' place! Insert Coin is a paradise for adults with their PourMyBeer self-pour beverage wall and classic arcade games. Being the 2nd most taps in town, they offer 26 self-serve taps from beer and cider to wine and margaritas. This place is a paradise for cider lovers with so many options. Their pear cider is absolutely DELICIOUS! As for their food they have some of the BEST burgers, they get all their meat from a local butcher. Their mac & cheese stuffed burger is AMAZING, definitely, a must-try! They also offer other food including pizza and their famous totchos! Yum! You order from a QR code and then the food is actually delivered to your table by a robot. How cool is that?!?! Even though a robot is the one to deliver your food there is still a bunch of friendly staff members, and they are just as great - super helpful, especially with recommending your next drink to try from their self-pour taps! I'm a barcade freak; Quarterworld in Portland, Add-a-Ball in Seattle and Triple Knock in my home of Tacoma are three spots I'd recommend to anyone visiting the Pacific Northwest. So it must have been fate that I random decided to stay in Centralia on what happened to be Insert Coin's opening weekend. They have a great selection of classic games with more to come. The only one I felt was missing was classic Tetris and, apparently, they have it in the back and are servicing it. It's also just a great place to hang out. Staff are really friendly and the environment is very conducive to meeting people. As far as I can tell, Centralia doesn't have a whole lot of nightlife (there's a McMenamin's that closes at midnight and a dive called the Tower where several locals warned me to never take my eyes off my drink) but having a place like Insert Coin--which is LGBTQ friendly and partially woman-owned--is likely to encourage more businesses to fill the gap. read more

She thought her Dad and I would enjoy some of the retro games, and we did. We have an annual tradition to do the McMenamins Brewfest. We always make sure we check out Insert Coin when we're in town. First of all, it's so much fun. Self pour beers, great pinball and arcade games, but ultimately it comes down to service. We've always had great experiences there but we need to specifically call out Ash and Sebastian. The service far exceeded a normal "bar" experience. We would recommend this place for the atmosphere... But we are "regulars" for life because of the service. Thanks Ash and Sebastian!!! read more

BUMMED!! After 6 months, my husband and I finally get a date night out. We planned our night with a big group of family and decided insert coin would be a great stop. WRONG. We're there a little over an hour when their bartender decides to cut off my husband. My husband had only had two drinks, was not slurring or stumbling or even buzzed. He was not driving, we had a pregnant DD in our group driving for that reason. I don't know if that bartender has a power trip or what his deal is but we won't be back. After hearing him tell another customer "I can make an old fashioned but I won't". I think the issues may be all his own. The other waitress was a doll and very friendly, no issues. So we leave, go to a neighboring establishment and continue our night where he gets served with no issues. Insert coin was a bust and so are their warm drinks. Overall, I wouldn't waste my money or time there again. read more
