O'Blarney's - Game Day, Great Eats, and Cold Drinks We watched the opening preseason NFL games here and had a blast! The energy was fun, the TVs were perfectly placed, and the crowd was into it without being over the top. I ordered the French dip sandwich -- delicious -- but do yourself a favor and order a side of creamed horseradish. It takes it from great to "why didn't I do this sooner?" territory. Service was friendly, drinks were cold, and the atmosphere hit just right for game day. Definitely a spot I'd come back to for football season (or really any excuse). read more

Food was decent for a pub. Burgers, wings, and fries were good. Salad was overdressed and soggy. Not too busy when we went so service was on the quicker side. Atmosphere has changed a lot over the last couple months. Employees seem a lot less happy, the main bartender Ryan (believe he is manager as well) publicly reprimands employees in front of customers, I've also overheard him venting to customers about other employees. Went into the bar area, got told that we had to move because we were under 21. That's not the issue at all. Food was cold and not even worth the money paid. Food was bland too. The drinks are usually good but the food I find to be typical bar food and rather average. Sometimes it's great and sometimes not so much, so it's a bit spotty in terms of consistency. On our last visit the clam chowder was lukewarm and it took forever to get the waitress to take it back and make it right. Actually it never was right. Wanted to watch a football game on a Thursday night and we came here after walking past it so many times. I wish we had come in before! Everything here was absolutely wonderful from atmosphere and cleanliness to service and food. I got the Guinness mac and cheese without onions omg it was so good. He got the chicken Alfredo and loved it. Then we switched plates and we were both in heaven again. Also got sweet potato fries and some beers also delicious. We can't wait to come back here! We had an absolutely wonderful experience at O'Blarney's the other day. We were tootling around downtown Centralia on Memorial Day this year, looking for things to do and places to eat. There was not a whole lot to chose from, as most of the town was closed because of the holiday, but fortunately for us and our taste buds ... O'Blarney's was open and ready for us! The front of the place is the main bar and grill and the family section is in the back. It was perfect for us, as we have two young kids and after a day of plays and walking around, we were all hungry and getting a wee bit stir crazy. The space is plentiful back there, with lots of space in between tables and TVs showing a variety of sporting events. My wife and I both ordered burgers and fries and had the kids share with us. They have a kid's menu, but we knew our littles wouldn't eat much of their own ... you fellow parents know how anything on our plates is much better than what could possibly be on their plates! =) I had the Bacon and Cheddar Burger while my wife went with the classic Blarney Burger. They were amazing! Wonderfully charbroiled patty, crunchy broiled edges and tender and juicy on the inside. Great flavor of the meat too - seasoned just right! The fixin's were fresh too - lettuce, tomato, onion. Pleasantly surprised that the bacon was good as well. Sometimes the bacon on bacon burgers gets too fatty and gristly --- not even close to that here. Tender and meaty. Yum! The fries were delicious as well, seasoned well and a good mix of crisp and soft fries in the very large portion. Topped off with a large pint of Harp and we were set to go! Our waitress was amazing and helped keep the kids entertained and worked hard for her tip - we certainly gave it to her. She was well worth it. I highly recommend O'Blarney's at The Gibson House. Would love to go back on a night without the kids to enjoy the bar side of the house and some of the special nights they have - BINGO Night definitely caught my eye! I love eating at an Irish Pub on a rainy day, so we frequented O'Blarney's for dinner. Our seat yourself dining experience was fast and friendly! I ordered the corned beef and cabbage, my husband had a burger w/fries, and our son ordered corn dogs. At first glance, my cabbage meal looked plain but the flavors were amazing! The soda bread was *chef's kiss* The venue is spacious and would be especially fun to visit with live music. The front of the building is the bar area and the side entrance is family seating (table and booth options). Two person tables line the wall against the windows, they have a larger booth to accommodate up to 6, and smaller group tables in the center. The bar area's wrap around seating looks cozy and I spotted an empty pool table around the corner. Out on a nice stroll enjoying the sun we were happy to see this restaurant. My boyfriend and i walked in, sat down next to the bar at a table. Three employees made eye contact with both of us. They kept gossiping about personal stories and wiping menus. This went on for at least 10/15 minutes. My boyfriend had to get up and ask if we could order. The bartender seemed annoyed she had to even help us at all. We just ended up leaving. As we said "we will just leave", she very loudly said "so happy you came in have a great day!!" Very rude. Oblarney's is an all time favorite. Great food, drinks and an overall nice place to be. Especially for small town Centralia. It's the only bar in downtown Centralia that I feel comfortable and safe at, compared to the neighboring bars. Staff is extremely friendly. My first time in and only for a beer. So a limited review for now. This looks like a classy old hotel lobby turned into bar and restaurant. They did a very nice job with the layout and decor. For my money, a better job than that Mac something down the street. In these %#!!@ times, lots of room to "safe distance" if that's your thing. Nice, friendly bar staff too. Great place to just have a good laugh, relax and enjoying a nice Saturday Date Night! I must honestly say that I underestimated O'Blarneys and I'm sorta glad I did because if not I wouldn't have been as surprise as I was. My husband and I went there for the very first time after 3 months living in Centralia. I love the vibe, cleanliness, service and atmosphere. Mind you, we are not the type that goes to pubs. My husband and I have been to the O'blarneys in Centralia twice now. Both times we have had terrible service. The first time our order was never entered and after over half an hour of waiting the waiter realized what happened but we told him we didn't have time to wait anymore. Today we decided to try them again. We got served fairly quickly then completely ignored. I went to the bar where the waitress was to ask for our check. She seemed annoyed with me. We waited another ten minutes, and I went back up to the bar and asked for the check a second time. My husband joined me at the bar to pay our check, and a male waiter was extremely rude to my husband. The table next to us also had to go up to the bar to ask for their check and they had been there longer than us. We will not be returning to this location. read more

Saturday night, ordered the prime rib dinner. Waitress took close to 25 minutes to get our drink order. Ordered drinks and appetizers. Finally got to order dinner. Ordered the prime rib dinner and wife got the chicken strips and fries. Order was fair quick. Then we started eating prime rib was tough hard to chew. Even the cap. I ordered medium rare it was. I stopped eating waiting for our waitress finally flagged down a staff member. Explained the problem and got a shift manager. Very nice lady, took my meal off the bill and gave me a 15 dollar card to use next time. So the 32.00 prime rib dinner was removed . I don't know about anyone else but I expect a decent cut of meat when I break down to spend 100.00 for dinner for two. Anyway with thought and rest I will not eat here again. OMG, the shepherd's pie was amazing! Loved the atmosphere and the staff were wonderful.

This was carry-out. The pretzels were bites, not two soft pretzels as on the menu, the sauce did not have any special quality, tasted like Whiz. The gizzards were flat out terrible, like they had been cooked several days ago or were freezer burned. Pretty sure this is a food service item and nothing homemade. They should not have been served, and I was very disappointed. The Guinness mac and cheese was ok, but I would not get it again. The cheesecake was good and what got them the two stars. I have to say I love the food O'Blarneys it's always fresh and delicious. However, the service player last week was something to complain about. My husband and O'Blarney's And within 10 minutes had our drinks and our order in. my son decided to join us and unfortunately for him it took a while for the waiter to come and take his order after a 25 minutes my order came we hadn't received our order yet. We told him to go ahead and eat so he did and he finished his meal. We still hadn't gotten our order so we asked the waiter and he said sorry that's the way that things go. Sometimes we had to wait an additional 10 to 15 minutes after that before we got ours our ticket time was about 50-60 minutes. Again when the food came out, it was good. It was fresh but almost an hour wait for a chicken sandwich and a burger dip is kind of ridiculous! read more

I wish I could give this place more stars. My fiancé and I went there on a Friday night to celebrate our anniversary. We noticed right away how GORGEOUS the place is and were confident we made the right decision. We did notice that there were only about 5 or 6 customers in the bar area and nobody other than us in the huge restaurant side. I was kind of shocked that the menu didn't have any of the real traditional Irish food, but wanted fish and chips so it wasn't a big deal. We ordered our food and drinks, and when it came I was beer underwhelmed. We both got fish and chips and a shrimp basket to share. The shrimp was ok, but it definitely tasted like frozen shrimp put in the fryer. The first bite I took of my fish was ok. A little bland but the batter wasn't half bad. But after a couple bites I was disappointed. Not only was it bland, but the bottom of the batter was soggy. I mean REALLY soggy, almost like someone spilled some water then cleaned it up. Parts of the fish were rubbery and you could tell it was microwaved. I hate leaving bad reviews, especially about god because I LOVE food. lol I'm not a picky person at all but this was a really disappointing meal. I didn't complain to the server about the food because I know it isn't his fault, and he was way too nice to make him feel bad. I've seen a lot of good reviews so I'm willing to give it another try using a gift certificate someone gave us, but until I have a better meal I won't be spending my own money. I really hope I just went on an off night or something because the prices are decent, it's a beautiful building, and despite the food, we had a really nice server. read more

I went here a week or so ago and had an extremely kind and nice waiter. I think his name was Levi. My Guinness was on tap and it didn't taste very fresh. Guinness should taste very smooth when it comes from the tap. This was slightly sour. I also ordered a sheppard's pie and it was okay. It tasted pretty good, but it had some adverse effects on me later in the evening. I had a stomach ache for the better part of the evening. The food here is average. The beer here is average. I'd really like to see some new recipes with quality ingredients. I'd like it to be more authentic Irish food and not so much just a sports bar feel. I'd suggest maybe having fresher Guinness by having smaller kegs or maybe just Guinness in cans that are refrigerated. Guinness in a can is usually very good if served correctly. To serve a Guinness from a can correctly, you open the can and immediately turn it upside down and pour it all into a pint glass. It tastes different than if you pour it incorrectly. A Guinness should taste very smooth, chocolatey, a little nutty, foamy, and satisfying. read more

Best place EVER!! The staff is absolutely AMAZING. Not your typical bar food, but an excellent choice of Irish Pub foods. I'll travel the hour just for the corned beef and cabbage (cabbage a bit under cooked for my preference) still I ate everything bit of it. It is well worth the visit. I had a long, long, LONG conversation about the Seattle Seahawks, Detroit Lions, and Golden Tate III with the patron beside me. The patron beside me got another drink and had his dishes bussed. Came to O'Blarneys while in Centralia to root on Holms & McGregor (don't even start with me, I'm still sad over it). It was a $5 cover charge to get in, which isn't bad considering if we had ordered it PPV it would've been much more expensive. The front of O'Blarney's is the "pub" area. There's tons of seating and a nice little lounge type room, and the center of the room is the bar. My boyfriend and I were kind of bummed that they only have one dart board - and please be aware that it's SHIT. It worked as far as playing on it goes, but the board is old and no matter how good you are, your darts aren't going to stick in the board. They also have pool tables if I remember correctly. We sat in the restaurant portion of the pub for the fights and it's a completely different world. It goes from a pub style atmosphere with dim-lighting and lots of wooden furniture to a white-washed room. Didn't like that so much, but oh well. We got to sit right in front of a television and had a great seat for the fights. The food here is great too! We ordered the appetizer sampler to start - I loved their clam strips and mozzarella sticks. The beer buddies and the onion rings were just alright. The onion rings were kind of soft or else I would've liked them for sure. For dinner, I ended up getting the Shepherd's Pie... AMAZING. The portion is huge (I was only able to finish half) and it's a really good savory meal to try if you've never had a Shepherd's Pie! I also got to choose a soup or salad side; I chose soup because it was Smoked Salmon Chowder... It was freaking amazing. I could eat that everyday of my life and would never get tired of it. For my boyfriend to get 2 individual Shocktops, and then realizing we wanted a pitcher of Shocktop, and each of us ordered something for dinner... It was only $60. Definitely affordable! The wife and I stopped in Saturday night after a day of antiquing and enjoying the 120th birthday party at the Olympic Club. We tried the pretzels with beer cheese soup to start, then the Shepard's pie. Both were excellent and paired well with a pint of Guinness. The food itself was tasty, our party had beer buddy's, the fair burger, shrimp platter, fish and chips and their cheese quesadilla with cabbage pico de gallo. Everyone enjoyed their food and portions were large. None of us completely finished our meals. The service was friendly but the Kitchen was a bit slow. 4 meals with 4 sodas cost us 98 bucks. Fantastic atmosphere, customer service, food, and beer. This place hit all the right spots, especially to kick off the official beginning of football season. They have more than enough TVs to provide viewing for every obscure team with small fan bases in the area, as well. For food, I had the clam chowder and soda bread. The chowder was good with a little hot sauce added to liven it up. The side of soda bread was awe-inspiring and absolutely delicious.
