I went to grab one of the things I needed and found it was locked??? We are in Centerville so why is a simple screwdriver set locked? Which was extremely aggravating as I was short on time with a restless toddler. But I needed the tool so I waited in the cashier line since there was no one else around to ask for help. When I got to the front I asked him to unlock the item. He said that he would help me, but is going to ring the lady out who was behind me first....strike 1 as I had been already waiting for a while and now he wants to help others who were behind me. He didn't even ask me if that would be alright with me. He rings the lady out, which was a water jug exchange. She asks him to take the new jug to the car. He tells me to wait "four seconds"as he takes the water to her car. Strike 2 Why couldn't that lady wait until he helped me? Clearly as a black woman in a predominantly white neighborhood it was very evident my time was not as important or important at all as this white woman's. I wait then a considerable amount of time until FINALLY other employees show up out the blue. I ask one of them if they can help me and he apprehensively with raised eyebrows goes "Okkkkayy, what do you need". Strike 3 The micro racial aggression is palpable at this point. Like no mention of an apology of the very clear fact there is no one around, I need help, and no ask if I had been waiting a while. Which I have but the cashier thought helping other people was more of a priority than helping me. On top of that the second item I needed was simply a power screwdriver which they don't have in stock. What kind of hardware store doesn't have that... Overall a terrible experience. Not going back. And finding more avenues to post this review and give 1 star for one of the worst customer service experiences I have had in my life.

Ordered one and had it delivered from Home Depot; didn't fit right . We got a full refund. Ordered one from menards, it also didn't fit correctly due to the dishwasher and they brought the wrong cord for the new oven anyway. I had them take it back and was told I needed to go into the store to get my refund. I went into the store and got the run around and was told I had to contact Menards.com, so I did. Below was an email I received from Menards.com telling me the store should've handled this. I did finally get my refund, but it was minus $162. I will never shop at Menards again. Lowe's and Home Depot have way better customer service and actually give you ALL of your money back on a return.

The item would not…read morediscount at the register and after almost 30 minutes and 3-4 associates attempting to figure out why the discount wouldn't go through, "Mike" showed up. Keep in mind all of those associates individually confirmed the SKU #s of the items I was purchasing lined up with deal. Mike told me "it's an online only deal" and walked away. He offered to comp about half of the item that was supposed to be free. I left and found the deal in "store mode" on the Home Depot app and called Mike back over to show him that the deal is available in store as well. He told me to "take it up with corporate". He also told me to order online and wait for the order to process for 15 minutes. You'd think if I can stand in the store and order the deal online, he could use his mighty manager powers to honor the deal in store as well. He chose not to. In total wasted over an hour of my time and was offered no acceptable solution. Thanks Mike! Won't be coming back.

The shop was in a bit of a remodel stage when we were there, but they had everything well organized and were very helpful. In the back they had wood, door and stained glass. While nothing was cheap, I did think the prices seemed fair. My wife chatted with the owner and he said he could fix old door locks. They had plenty of old door knobs and old locks if you just want to replace them. I will definitely have to come back with some projects in mind and a vehicle to load stuff into. One of the highlights in the Waynesville antique scene.
