This morning I visited Siebenthaler's to purchase flowers for my yard and for pots to place on tombstones for Memorial Day. During my 20 minute visit, I encountered four staff members inside and outside of the greenhouse and in the building were the cashier is located. They were not busy...three customers not counting me. Not a single employee acknowledged my presence. I even said good morning to a male employee sitting in a golf cart texting. He looked at me and went back to texting without saying a word. If there was an award for Worst Customer Service, I would nominate Siebenthaler's without a doubt. The selection in the greenhouse was not very good. I intended to buy geraniums, but the plants were not very nice and pretty small yet $8.95 each. Almost every plant in the greenhouse was $8.95 per annual plant. Extremely overpriced for the size and conditions of the plants I looked at. I left without making a purchase and drove a few miles to another greenhouse where I found geraniums that looked healthier and nicer for $1.99 each. I'm so thankful I looked elsewhere. I will NEVER return to Siebenthaler's in the future. Terrible service (no service at all), extremely overpriced, mediocre plants and selection - a complete dud! read more

Phenomenal service from Dean's crew while installing two new oak trees. This crew made sure to leave my yard better than they found it. They did a professional installation making sure I was happy at all times. That was not difficult because they were so good at what they do. I had done my research regarding tree planting and they knew more than I did. They were prompt and showed up to the minute on time. They finished on time also. Utmost courtesy and customer service is what I experienced. I also had flawless service while picking out my trees at the garden center, with longtime, vastly knowledgeable, Greg. Honestly, I was less than impressed. Perhaps I came at the wrong time of year but, their selection sucked both inside and out. The shop is stocked with the bare minimum. I was able to find the rose spray that I wanted however, it was 3 times more expensive than Lowe's (literally.) I am all for supporting small business, in fact I prefer it but, I just can't justify paying 3 times the amount for a similar item. Service was pleasant but nothing over the top. There was no one to be found in the garden area. We did have some specific questions about the few live plants that were there and there was no one to ask. Since I didn't feel like toting plants into the store we left them there and left this garden center empty handed. Most of the plants in the garden department were literally dead. Most were brown and crispy, which really turned me off. There were rows of green houses in the back however, I was not sure that the public was allowed back there. Sadly, there was no one to ask. Regardless if we were allowed back there or not, I am not sure that I would keep your crispiest, saddest looking plants in the front. They were not a good representation of what this nursery is likely capable of. The bottom line...we will not be back. read more

i was look for a night glow honeysuckle, hard to find,but I was excited to find siebenthalers had them in stock. I do not live in Dayton anymore but drove there to get them. Terrible system. I paid and waited for a kid to get them for me. He brought them out, and I said those look terrible! He excused it away they were treated with insecticide. They looked like they had been there for years in their pots, even had weeds in the pot. It is my fault for not speaking up, they are alive, but still spindly. So disappointed in the process and my product. Don't know why I couldn't see them before paying. So beware! And yes they were expensive. read more

There are a few local dedicated garden centers in beavercreek, but this is the only one sitting right on their nursery lot. Mid-season prices on most plants seem to be roughly comparable to the other garden centers. The nice thing about small businesses is that the provide diversity. All garden centers provide the stable garden plants, but there some less common plants that make it to some of these local shops but not others. You just have to shop around until you find that perfect oddity that no one else has. read more

Exceptionally disappointing...while Greg and Howard (Beavercreek location)were awesome in helping us select two trees for our home, that's where the fun ended. The nursery lost our trees, requiring several return visits to make sure we got what we wanted. We scheduled delivery, tree stump removal and planting which was an even more disappointing experience as Siebenthaler's landscape office lost our order, had called and said a new designer needed to come out (we already had one of them do the work) and then provided inaccurate information when providing an installation date. Siebenthaler's has nice products, but service to small-purchase homeowners is terrible. We'll go elsewhere! Shame on them, the tree location ( in the front of our home) would have been great free advertisement for them and we would have had more work done by them. read more

Love their choice of plants and they've done well. However, not so much for the tree planting service. We were called the day prior to let us know they would be here to plant the 3 trees in front. No, not possible - we would be out of town and want to be here when the trees were planted. No more than a week later, arrived home to find trees were planted. No call beforehand. Two of the three trees were planted "around" the area we had discussed - the third was not. While we were offered the choice to have it removed and replanted, we decided not to have the lawn disrupted. Not so much as an apology was received. Went in person to pay the bill, said how disappointed I was in the way this was handled - and still no call from the manager/owner. Will shop elsewhere for plants and future landscaping. read more
