The last thing this school cares about is the treatment or well being of the children. There are a few good teachers (Wendy Lockard is phenomenal and always will be and a few of the CCD organizers are also great). However, the majority sadly do not care about the children. I attended this school 10+ years ago as a child and I went from 1st-8th grade. I remember having medical issues that the school would not allow me to call home about that ended up being serious. I remember being physically bullied by classmates and just having teachers look on and not take action. When my family attempted to take action through the principal and office, no action was taken and everything was brushed off. I also vividly remember many times seeing small children crying from being denied the restroom or walking around the school all day in their own urine because the school would rather that than cleaning up the child and taking responsibility for denying them the ability to use the restroom. However, when it comes to money, the school is very punctual and sure to constantly be attentive to every penny. Also, many fundraisers and drives are held to raise money that then goes missing quickly after or is spent on unnecessary church renovations. It sickens me to see that the school still operates like this all these years later. A family member of mine sends her child there and he has now already come home with large deep cuts with no explanation. He was denied potty access for hours until he wet himself and was denied a new pair of pants (so remember, every chair he sat on or kid he interacted with was then exposed to urine due to that). Any respectable faculty member that joins this school and is loved usually quits unexpectedly with no explanation. I've seen this happen twice in the past year and many times when I was a child. The way this school operates is simply sickening, unethical, and unsanitary. Do NOT send your children here unless you enjoy paying about $1000/month or more for mistreatment.

Since by child was 4 years old, he has always had exemplary education. Our school is filled with love, a 100% safe enviroment for all children, there is a zero tolerance for bullying, we have supportive faculty, an incredible new principal this year. We have always been treated with kindness and respect by our loving Pastor and our caring faculty and staff. Throughout the years and with the help of H & S and parent fundraising events, all students of SJS have benefited from those allocated funds to include, a beautiful, state of the art Science Lab, new classrooms and classroom improvements, playground for Early childhood, improved Basketball court, improved athletics department and recently many new educational programs this school year. We are always trying to improve our school. We have always been very active parents at our school, volunteeing for school and classroom events. We have never seen or heard of any mistreatment from any faculty member onto any student. It is sad to see disgruntled people make false accusations and attempt to spread false rumors about our school. Our school is filled with caring, faith filled families. Many of our parents and faculty are Saint Jerome Alumni and now have their children and grandchildren attendfing our amazing school. When you compare our school to others, our school is filled with great warmth, classes are small allowing teachers to provide a more individualized education. Bethlehem Preschool has shaped my academic journey in so many ways. THE most influential educator ! have ever had in my life was the head of the school, Mrs. Dorothy Nelson. She challenged me to excel, providing me with a unique perspective on learning and achievement. Invested in my success, she offered guidance while supporting me every step of the way. At only 3 years old, Mrs. Nelson's approach to my education allowed me to thrive academically and fueled my passion for learning. One of the defining aspects of my time at this school was the opportunity to skip two grades due to the school's supportive academic structure. This acceleration allowed me to graduate High School at the ripe age of 16. I have talked too many people who went to other schools and transferred to Cypress Bay or friends who moved away, every time they said that Cypress Bay was not only better, but MUCH better. The school gives you so much freedom, not only in the typical style of picking your classes/clubs, but the staff respects it's students and doesn't enforce strict rules on everyone. By the staff giving the students this freedom, they expect the students to not take advantage of that freedom and for the most part they don't. What results here is a well-established relationship between the students and staff that really works. The classes here are great with some of the best teachers in the state, many of whom you talk to will tell you how much they appreciate working at the school. There are so many AP classes available and many great electives that other schools may not offer. Through this they do a great job preparing their students for their future. For example, some very intelligent kids can choose to do many high-level AP credits if they want to go to into the medical field. At the same time, someone like me can join a club and take classes on something like TV Production which was amazing in preparing for me for my career. Speaking of clubs there are so many, that you can find something for everyone. This almost reminds me of what I see in college. Most of the students stay at Cypress Bay after school for clubs or sports activities. It's great to see so many students getting involved and it's also great to see the pride they have for the school. Sure are there a lot of students, but that also prepares you for college and it can also be a good thing. Think about it this way, the more students there, the more likely you are to find someone who will share things in common with you and make easy friends. The school is clean, safe and amazingly managed by the staff. The experience you have here is one of a kind, I wouldn't go anywhere else for highschool if I had a choice. 4 years of great times, I honestly have nothing negative to say about the school. Please do not let some sour reviews influence you to send your children to private school. Believe it or not, Cypress Bay is preferred by many students who went to the local private schools. We have been going to St Ambrose for 15 years. As defined by the St Ambrose handbook, my child was harassed and bullied by a student and his parent who volunteers at the school for over a year. In addition, the same volunteer parent spread vicious, disgusting lies about our family throughout the school and during school functions which principal dodge admitted to hearing herself, but did nothing about and claimed it was "not in the schools purview". After documenting each incident with principal dodge, she lied about her ability to act on them, mischaracterized them and did nothing to solve the problem. Once principal dodge was caught lying and her integrity was under attack, she withdrew our daughter from the school during the Christmas vacation. My daughter had no disciplinary issues, was no threat to the school and posed no danger, yet was thrown out of St Ambrose hastily, separated from friends she has had most of her life, teachers she adored and resulted in a major disruption in her education. I feel that what principal dodge did was disgraceful and cowardly. Five months after we moved on, the volunteer parent who harassed our daughter appears to be stalking our daughter on social media. In my opinion, this school and principal dodge are more concerned with their personal reputation and will sacrifice the education, safety, and wellbeing of the students to protect themselves.

So when I came across Xceed, she was opened to visit the campus and surprisingly, she liked it a lot. So we decided to enroll her even though she was super anxious but we figured that Xceed would be a great way to help her transition back into a regular school (at some point). Well, that was 2022 and now it's 2025! She is starting her Senior year at Xceed. She has made lovely friends. Teachers and staff are great and super supportive. Xceed is a great format. It's a cross between home school and a brick and mortar - but has enough structure that it emulates a college vibe. It's what school should be :)
