It was my first time here today, looking for a new church to bring my family. Got here late parking lot was pretty full, so must be a great church, little confusing at first with all the cones trying to figure out where to go.. church was huge, little intimidating, but I was made few super welcome and everyone was friendly, got a tour where my kiddos will be going. Looking forward to bringing them back next Sunday, I think they'll love it. They hve a lot to plug you in and serve which I'm looking forward to being more involved so I can hold myself accountable I really want to be the light for my family and bring my boys all up in church like I had for me growing up. Excited to see more of what this church has to offer. But so far good vibes:) I also like the security they have for the kids and for the building makes it feel more safe especially being such a large community. read more

Sun Valley Church in Gilbert is an exceptional church. The Pastors who speak are all well educated in Biblical teachings and give you practical ways to grow EVERY week. If your goal is to grow in your faith and to learn more, this is a wonderfully helpful place to be. Not to mention, the worship teams provide worshipful music. I've felt called to write a detailed review for some time now. I feel a tad embarrassed and vulnerable, but my hope is that this helps any one who feels deeply hurt by a previous experience related to church, anyone curious, or anyone new to the area ( + hopefully more people but specifically people that can relate to me!) I had just moved here and I decided to search for a church after not attending for years. SV came up on Google maps and the service time was perfect for my last minute plans. It's still the best last minute plan I've ever made. I really wanted to write this because it can be intimidating to; 1. Attend church 2. Attend church alone 3. Attend church in an entirely unfamiliar place 4. Attend a church that has multiple campuses and is a large campus 5. Get connected and plugged in. I did have to put myself out there a bit and walked up to the New Here tent. A couple weeks later, I messaged the campus pastor (who genuinely makes me laugh out loud at the end of every service and I wish they aired his closing statements on the online services) and he connected me with someone immediately after service. With time, I inquired about serving and ended up in 456. That led to me meeting even more people and soon enough, SV became a community for me. All of this stemmed from a simple introduction at the New Here tent and texting the New Here #. Aside from the community aspect, I believe Sun Valley delivers truth with grace. The messages are relatable, honest, occasionally light-hearted with humor, and equally serious while all being derived directly from the living word. I appreciate that messages are led with scripture, while explaining historical context and applying it to current times. Don't even get me started on the SV app and podcast. So many great resources and conversations. I thought I knew God before SV but I realize I just knew of Him. And that learning to know Him is a lifelong, intimate relationship. Being a follower entails a lot of things, but ultimately, the most important is loving God and loving people. I also want to acknowledge that a large campus and occasional recorded sermons can be confusing, intimidating, and impersonal. I hear ya, but I encourage you to give Sun Valley a shot. But as your sister, I also want to remind you that our relationship with God is personal to us and shouldn't be dependent on others. Church is a movement, not a place. The place you're attending is meant for you to find fellowship and I promise you, if a little 22 year old can move across the country from south Florida and introduce herself to the New Here tent, I assure you that you can too. And you'll be in great hands. God is definitely at work at this church. I have never had a bad encounter with anyone here and every ministry that I've looked into has been extremely welcoming. Last but not least, if you're feeling a little lost or consumed, celebrate recovery is an incredible ministry. Someone very near and dear to me attended CR and invited me to support them one night. I can say that this ministry changed their life and really made them feel so deeply seen. Any whoooo, I wish you the best on your church scouting. I love this church. I truly do. Chad and Robert are both excellent speakers and their message is always relevant and inspirational. One suggestion (minor to be sure) is that the traffic transition at the Gilbert campus after the Saturday 3:30 service needs a look. To be specific the man who helps the east driveway to clear out is making me nervous. We call him the 'let's go!' guy. He is very aggressive trying to get cars to close the gaps and leave when directed; honestly it's apparently never fast enough or close enough. I know he's a volunteer - of course but It's always 'come on come on let's go! Let's go!' I've had to slam my brakes a couple times. I'm afraid there's going to be an accident.... Other than that ... love everything about Sun Valley read more

I've been going to Sun Valley for a few years now, the people there are incredibly helpful and friendly! I love the children's ministry, my kids are so excited to go every week. Worship is good, not distracting with some overly talented Whitney Houston type of worship leader. Sermons are great from both co-pastors. Communicating with anyone at the church staff, or any volunteers, is nothing short of impossible. They either don't respond ever regardless of the number of calls, or they don't know the answers, or they're very cold. read more

The Bible warns to beware of false prophets, who come to you in. sheep's clothing. That is what is happening at this "church". The music is fantastic, but they don't preach real Christian values. The pastors cower down and avoid talking about true Christian beliefs. You can tell they are focused on making lots of money here. read more

The staff at sun valley lost my two year old while she was under their care. She was wandering down the hallway on her own. Upon this happening, no one at sun valley could provide me answers as to how this happened or calm my fears that it would happen again. Someone said "well she wouldn't have gone far" The parking lot is right down that hallway.. he proceed to argue with me about whether or not my two year old could push the handicap button and open their doors. Kim Phifer, the children's director, never even bothered to call me. I went back and forth with their staff, trying to get answers or even apology that they put my toddlers life at risk, but every question I had was met with "I don't know". I was told that Kim is very busy and couldn't meet with me. As a kids director, I can't imagine anything being more important than speaking to the parent of a child who got lost under their care. Very disheartening. read more

Sun valley is an amazing church. It has been a pleasure to watch my family grow in their relationship with Jesus. This church is a relational church that focuses on growing your relationship with God and People. They are not going to beat you over the head with rules and doctrine during services, but they have small groups that will take you as deep as you want to go. They have so many opportunities to get involved. The staff repeatedly talks about being connected as you want to be. I went to this church for a while just sitting on the sidelines going to service. Once we started to get involved and took the steps of obedience and trust our lives and relationships blossomed. Every new step produced exponential fruit in our lives. This review is for FUNDAMENTAL Christians. This church raises a lot of questions. To begin-- I did not see a single bible in the whole building. The music is more of a rave and concert than it is a congregation singing. The bible says "make a joyful noise unto the Lord" Psalms 98:4. The music department is set up to glorify the lead singer and the instrumentalist. At a Christmas Eve service, they couldn't even play Joy to the World without remixing it. About the preaching-- the pastor is not there. Yes you read that correct. He broadcasts one sermon to 6 different locations. During the service I went to, I could not even take the service seriously. It was going to church just to watch a screen. Also, it raises a couple questions about corruption. Pastors make money off of offerings. That means this one pastor (who doesn't even attend 5 of the 6 churches) is making money off of 6 different offerings. To ADD to that, he pestered his church to give MORE money so they could add 2 ADDITIONAL campuses. He claimed that it was to reach people in new areas, but during the service-- the sermon was a mere 10 minute message with a "you can accept christ in your chair & repeat after me." Questionable comments during the service-- "Christianity is not a religion" "Christmas means "God With Us" "If you give extra, you may ask 'but do I need to pledge?' The answer is YES" (no the answer is it depends on what you feel God is leading you to do) Final statement: This is a feel good church with a focus on money and attendance. The messages are not to deepen your relationship with Christ. If you want a feel good message this church is for you. If you want real growth; find a different church, this one is too weak for that. read more

Where to begin when I have so many raving things to say. This church has been the source of peace in my life and drew me back to learning about the Lord. I didn't even realize I had become distant but the knowledge I've gained over the years listening to sermons is undeniable. The Mops/MomCo group taught me invaluable parenting skills and gave me community in motherhood. This church is a safe place I can invite friends curious about learning about Christianity. That is hard to find! I moved to Florida for 4 years and never found a church like this one, we continued to tune in online and the moment we moved back to AZ we came to Sun Valley again. This is the first church my husband requests to attend rather than feeling annoyed to go. This church helped us through more than one life hurdle, where sermons felt as if it was created just for us. My 12 year old granddaughter was attending a Sunday morning class regularly for a couple of years. She close friends there. There was a boy a couple of years younger whose father claimed there was an incident in class involving her and his son that was orchestrated by my granddaughter that was bad enough to have her kicked out of the church. According to a couple of other kids she never has any contact with this boy including that day. The father told the party that responded to the incident that he had documented proof she wasn't aloud to be in his family's atmosphere. Which was never provided because the isn't anything that states that. There is however a document involving his daughter and my granddaughter that they are to have no contact issued from the school they both attend. I have contacted the church to voice our side but with no luck getting our account addressed. She's very confused and we can't come up with a way to explain how a child can be kicked out of a church over what they consider enough cause. According to a friend of mine that is a long time member that family is very involved with Sun Valley activities. One important part missing from this incident is we don't know the involvement of who was in charge of the kids on this day this incident happened whether it was that day or week before. But whoever it was backed up the Fathers complaint. I forgot to mention this removal occurred the middle of October '24. read more

I love this place! It is a community of regular people who love to worship God together. It is a place of Hope, Strength, Love, Healing, and Encouragement all centered around Jesus and the Bible. It is all those things and so much more, it is Sun Valley Community Church! In his day, Jesus did not hang out much with the Pharisees or the Sadducees who were both fundamental religious sects within Judaism during the time of Christ. Both groups honored Moses and the Law, and they both had a measure of political power. I believe that Jesus liked to be where he was needed most, with the common people who were often suffering. people whose lives had become unmanageable for various reasons. In the Gospels we read about how Jesus preached to and healed the sick, the lame, the hurt and the broken. Again, just regular people. Sun Valley Community Church is a mega-church. It currently has five campuses all over the Valley and is growing. The thinking behind this phenomenon is that the more people Sun Valley Community Church can get God's message to, the better! Many bible-churches have adopted this type of teaching style with great success. Sun Valley Community Church is strictly a "bible" church, based solely on God's word. It is designed for everyone, and its focus is geared towards those who have deep hurts, bad habits or hangups, and are looking for a place of Christian love and acceptance while they learn about God's word. Every week, the Bible (NIV and ESV) is used to help people learn, grow and navigate some of life's most turbulent issues. The Lead Pastor, Chad Moore along with all the Campus and Staff Pastors guide the congregation in these lessons with clarity, humor, and in some cases, even "props" to get the message out. These guys are terrific and the messages are on-point and relevant! Every service is complemented by incredible live music performed by Sun Valley's Worship Team. These musicians are members of the congregation and offer their time 'in service to others' by performing contemporary Christian Worship Music before and after each service. The musicians are some of the best around, and have many have successful music careers in and around the community outside of Sun Valley Community Church. These musicians give up their time each week and perform amazingly. To be honest, for me at least, just listening to these artists alone makes the experience of attending worthwhile. Finally I would like to comment on the people who make up this community. I would be remiss not to say that though each person has his or her own struggle, every single person I have met since I started going to this church back in June of 2015, has in some way, big or small, helped me in my own struggles and more importantly growth as a Christian man. It is a community of Jesus followers who seem to just understand what it means to be "Christian". Sun Valley Community Church is more than a place to meet on the weekends. It truly is a place to learn, and grow on the incredible journey to meet, know, and follow Jesus. I can not recommend this place more highly. Sun Valley Community Church is family. The music is great but the messages from Robert and Chad are always so relatable and insightful. I love the fact that Pastor Chad emphasizes ACCOUNTABILITY in our lives. We love this church now. Updated review: Teaching: The teaching here is fantastic. Normally now it's either Pastor Chad or Robert who does the sermons. Love that you can watch online if you're exhausted or out of town or sick. They also have an app with sermon note section that you can email to yourself after, and also there's a devotional in there for the weekdays. Music: Seems to have improved. Music from the radio mostly, but it is very loud. And concert-like still. Kids: Kids checkin has changed. No keytag needed. Much easier. Volunteers have to apply and background is checked. Summer Spectacular is fabulous (for K-3rd, in June) and summer camps for the older grades available but I cannot comment on those. 4th thru 6th grades are in the next building over during the service times, and 7th thru 12th meet on Sunday nites at 5. They have big-group worship and teaching, then break into their grades and gender for small groups. Our kid used to love it, but they stopped having food each week, so he's less interested in going, sadly. Bible study: Womens groups seem to meet Thursday mornings? When many people work. Unless they changed it. Small groups are available in people's homes throughout the week and you're encouraged to join a small group. I havent seen them asking for extra $ for things in years like they did before, so disregard that part of my previous comments. They do have Celebrate Recovery, Financial Peace University, and ReEngage available every so often. read more

This is your typical window dressing Christian church. No depth or real spiritual learning. The head pastor Chad "3D" Moore is really bad. His sermons are less then inspiring. And he wont meet with anyone. Seriously, count how many times he utters the phrase "are your tracking?". Who says that?? He really sucks ass. This church, and any other sun valley church only wants you for their numbers. That's it. Oh, the music is f***ing terrible. read more

I just had to give my feedback because it was my very first time at this church and although it's beautiful inside and out and the music was good I was very disappointed at the fact that there was no deep worship and prayers not even the pastor asked people to come up front to ask Jesus Christ into our hearts and be saved or prayer for healing no involvement with attendees I really didn't feel happy here and the spirit of the lord was not there. Best. Church. Ever! I used to travel for work, so attended various churches all over the country. I have been attending Sun Valley since 2008 and although I fell in love with it upon my first visit, I now realize just how blessed all of us are, that call Sun Valley our church home. If you have never gone to church, not sure if you believe in God or not, not sure of what you think of Jesus, have been hurt by other churches, etc - do yourself a HUGE favor and stop in to Sun Valley some time. You will NOT be disappointed. Modern, relate-able, relevant, applicable, entertaining, educational - incredible! Feel free to come in your jeans and your flip flops (I pretty much wear this every Sunday). The music is AMAZING - the Pastors are all incredibly speakers - and the teaching is fabulous! I see a few people who are discrediting the church based on the fact that we have a "3D" Pastor that preaches on a screen. Truthfully this was the deciding factor when my wife and our family decided to leave the church and look for a place with an actual Pastor. We found a great church with a "live" Pastor and an amazing band and we loved it...... for a while. Then our hearts for some reason weren't satisfied and we went to try another church then another and yet we were still looking for something more. After prayer and discussion we were guided to go back to Sun Valley and our "Pastor on a screen" and our hearts were immediately and immensely filled by the Holy Spirit. What we were aching for was the message and the word of God. It speaks to our hearts on Sunday's and lingers in us throughout the week. I find myself referencing the words Chad and Robert speak when making decisions in my life. It is making me a better husband, father, and coworker. That is a huge effect this church is having in my life and in my family's life, and it is worth the small sacrifice of having to watch our Pastor on a screen. read more

If you are looking for a church that is only about money and appearance this would be the one to go to. Sun Valley Learning Center is being closed so that the can have a coffee bar. Apparently it is more important to make sure that attendees have thier coffee fix than to provide a Christian environment that parents can take thier children to. The church speaks of how society is eliminating Christopher from our lives so thier solution is to eliminate one of very few non denominational Christian schools available. I have never been so disappointed in a church. I will never attend another service and will encourage others to find a new church home. read more

I've tried taking my family here . Some of the older members in my family when I ask them to go to church , they will ask , " is it the one with the TV pastor " ? And If I say yes , well then they decide not to go . They simply are disturbed of the idea of the pastor preaching on a screen . I've taken other people and this is there number one. There's plenty of churches around and they'd rather just choose one where the pastor is there guiding the people through service . How can you feel the energy of the room ? How can you appropriately address us when you aren't even among us ???? read more

My family and I have been attending Sun Valley Community Church for five years now. From the minute we stepped foot here my husband, two kids and I felt at home. The kids programming has been fantastic, the MOPS program helped me through some trying times in my "Mothering" and the Thursday Women's Bible studies have been amazing. What I love most about this church is that people are authentic and there is no pretending. Everyone I have come in contact is real. The Pastor's, Chad and Robert are passionate about leading you to a relationship with our Heavenly Father. The music is exceptional. There is no perfect people therefore there is not a perfect church. My family and I are eager to attend church each week. I would highly recommend Sun Valley Community Church. read more
