First visit - I met with Dr. Numair, and I explained that my eyes will sometimes get a bump on the lid that is irritating. I showed them photos of the bump and my eye, and they order allergy tests. (did allergy testing as they suggested) Last visit - I met with the PA (name unknown), and within seconds of seeing the same photo of my eyes, she said it's a chalazion caused by oil gland backing up and there is nothing allergy related causing this (warm compress = solution). If this was well explained during the first visit, there would have not been the need for two additional visits totaling $1,514 in charges. read more

Not the best place. We were referred by our doctor, not by choice. Place looks dirty, smells like food because the whole place is open so whoever warmed up their food it smells everywhere. You have to first drive through the back to check in, and it's a one way, so if you miss the one way driveway you'd need to make a U-turn. If you don't check in the back and just enter the building they will make you go back and check in outside in the back of the building. And when you tell them if you can just be checked in inside they get annoyed and even roll their eyes. This is our second time here. Hopefully our last. If we have to come back I will be asking my doctor to refer me somewhere else. No wonder this place has a 2 star rating. I'm just going to give them one. read more

For many years i was treated for my allergies at this clinic. They were very good at pinpointing exactly what i needed treatment for. I had my shots here for a long time, and my allergies really cleared up . They were able to help me get rid of my cough also. It was very persistant couhh that i could not control. Horrible office! Referral was sent by doctor and never got a call back. Called weeks later to make an appointment and they have nothing for 6 months! It is great to have a local facility for allergy sufferers and the services offered are great too. The quality of care is good but I can not say it is great due to the environment conditions the clinic is in. The girls in the back parking lot in the check-in tent are rude, the customer service is unfortunate because I liked the doctor. Even the doctors medical assistant on the phone was unhelpful, extremely rude and short. I would recommend going somewhere else if customer service is important to you. Also, all 5 of my allergy test appointments were two hours or longer I even got there early! The girl check my patch tests seemed to not know what she was doing and had to keep getting her co-worker to come look at it. Overall bad experiences here. Although the younger gentleman who took my vitals and did my spirometry breathing test was very nice and helpful so I give him kudos. read more

Overall, we enjoy the clinic. The staff is professional, friendly, and timely. The Doctor is knowledgeable and understanding. However, what would really help is reminding the family of the next appointments when they get their allergy shots. My daughter went to get her allergy shot and my husband took her and he didn't know that he needed to schedule another one. So they told him just to go ahead and leave when she was ready to leave. It really helps to make sure you communicate to the patient and their families the next step. What do they need to do next. If there is another appointment that needs to be made make sure you tell them that. I work in healthcare. I have never been a patient here but based on reviews I'm glad. I applied for a job here not long ago. They got back to me saying I got the job ok great. I have to finish up my month at my current job then I'll start first day next month. They said they'll get back to me they have to ask their manager. Okay they never got back to me assuming everything will be as planned I finished my month a day before my available start day I call them just to follow up because I never heard back they kept giving me a run around that they will call back and that they have to ask the manager until finally they got back to me saying the manager went with someone else because they could start sooner. Up to this point I'm just thinking what unprofessionalism from them it would of been nice to know they went a different route and I would of never Left my current job or declined other jobs offered to me at previous times that month. read more

I am a 63 year old chronic asthma patient of Central Coast Allergy and Asthma for several years - way back to when they were Salinas Valley Allergy and Asthma....They are the ones that diagnosed me. BUT when I needed a note stating that I am a chronic Asthmatic due to this pandemic, I was refused. I was told I have to be sick in order to get a note....which is correct during regular times....this isn't regular times. I just need a statement saying I am asthmatic. The Nurse wouldn't do it. I work for the County, and am considered essential personnel so, I have to go in to the office. Since I am essential, the only way I can get excused would be if my doctor would give me a note. My second review after I spoke to some lady in that office!! If you value your time, stay away from this central coast allergy and asthma center salinas. The first visit we spent 15 minutes in the waiting room and 20 minutes in the room. Second visit they made us waited 15 in the waiting room before we decided to leave. Next thing we know, we got charge for a missed appointment for the day. And when I spoke to the person in that office regarding the charge, they said the MA called us twice before we left. And she said that she'll give our bill to the collection if we refuse to pay. Just stay away from this office. All they care about is money. Last month I took my grandmother and secretaries messed up on my grandma's info in her online files. Dr. More told us she does not have allergies even though skin tests showed reaction and a few years back a different allergy doctor had told us she had allergies to about 4 different food items plus mold, dogs, pollen, and dust mites. That doctor retired. We don't trust Dr. More and secretaries anymore. I don't recommend. read more

I've been going here for about four years and for the last several visits I found the nurses giving shots to be rude and impatient. Zero stars if I could. Patient beware. The woman in the billing department is extremely rude. We were charged $25 for an appointment we didn't make. My husband told the receptionist he would call back once he looked at his schedule six months ago. We received no reminder call. Not only were they unwilling to waive a $25 fee, they were extremely rude about it. Is demanding $25 worth the loss of a patient and thousands of dollars? Not a good business decision at all. Doctors are ok for being local and for an allergist. The allergy testing was worth the visit to find out what we are allergic to. With newer technology then when we were little, they barely make a little poke on their back and use a small amount of the potential allergy in a drop form and see if it makes a bump. The nurse that did the allergy test was great, very friendly and welcoming. I have seen both doctors and they both seem ok. I just don't like to turn to medicines that can cause side effects unless absolutely necessary. Some of the medicines taken by mouth caused excessive hyperness and ADD like symptoms in children and so did the nasal spray. Con- The billing lady was rude. Asked her about how much the visits would cost, because I had no idea what we were going to pay for these visits. She could not give me an answer and said I should have checked before coming with my insurance. I wanted to know how much they bill my insurance, so I would know about how much I would have to pay on my part and she must have not wanted to answer or didn't understand my question. But was rude with her answers. I didn't appreciate this kind of response and gave me a bad feeling about it. Finally got some billing info from my insurance and got some answers. They bill the insurance very very high, like $250 or so for a regular visit and about $400+ for the allergy test. My insurance only pays a certain amount , allows for a certain amt. and the office has to write off the rest. read more

This place is more about collecting money than providing medical services. They made me take needless tests without telling me I will be paying most of it out of pocket and it wasn't covered by the insurance. Just two visits resulted in months of bills and over 500$. Months later I was contacted by a collection agency to find out there were other bills that I never got. How do you get so many bills just for two visits?!?? read more

The people in the front office are the worst schedulers I've ever encountered. I had an appointment but they called and left a voicemail to say the doctor suddenly won't be in the office and I need to reschedule. So I called back the next day and the phone went to voicemail. I left a message and phone number and waited. Two days passed with no word from them so I called and explained the sequence of events and she became so confused because she was not aware they cancelled on me in the first place. I am so impressed at the positive changes I've seen at this office! They've added new staff and it's so refreshing to see people enjoy what they do! I want to start by saying that Kristin at the front desk is always so professional and cheerful! The nurses/staff Yvette, Mariah, Richard, and Sofia are just too quick and I can't tell you how much I appreciate them! My family and I come here at least once a week and drive quite a distance but it is so worth the drive because I truly feel like I'm cared for! Dr. Prager is wonderful. The Salinas office is overcrowded so go to the Monterey office if you can.

I was appalled at the unprofessional behavior of the Office Manager. I questioned a bill, as I was told that my copay would be sufficient to cover the visit and also subsequent allergy testing (thank goodness I didn't end up doing it). I told her I didn't think I should be responsible for the additional charge and she LITERALLY called me a liar and told me that nobody there would ever tell me such a thing. I have never experienced such a horrible, unprofessional and trashy employee and a Dr's Office. Totally agree with another reviewer regarding needless testing as well. I told them I had just had a full PFT and they still insisted on giving me a breathing test at my expense instead of checking my results from the test I has done. read more

Dr Daniel Moore likes to pretend that MCS or multiple chemical sensitivity disorder, does not exist. Why? Not sure. In fact on February 22, 2017, he wrote an article vehemently defending people having the freedom to wear heavy fragrances in the workplace. This lack of compassion is disgusting. People with MCS cannot work, cannot even breathe in a fragrance heavy environment. MCS is a debilitating illness that I would not wish on my worst enemy. A dear family member has this horrible condition and fights to breathe every day of his life. You can never get a appointment when you need and the first thing the MA will tell you is , "take your child to the ER really. Then why are you all in business if this is your reply when i call. Follow up by this group is terrible, wait time for scheduled appointments run over an hour, and the tech that administers by injections contaminates the process EVERY TIME, even though I brought it to the attention of another tech and the Physicians Assistant. I took my son to check him for ALLERGY, it took four visits, 1 to fill out some papers. 2 for testing, and one just to tell me that no ALLERGY was found. It coasted me $160 in co-payments, and God knows how much from my insurance. It seems to me that this place is like most medical establishments who are in it for the MONEY and not for helping the patients. I went to Dr. More at the Monterey office. He basically went on and on about what my spots/bits could be. He really had no clue and repeated himself 3 or 4 times not really saying anything. Not a good experience with him or the staff at the front desk. LVN and MA were great though. I finally figured it out on my own that they were bits from a mite. Wife showed up for a scheduled appointment and was turned away because they said she wasn't scheduled. The problem is they charged her for a cancelled appointment. You're right--there's no logic with that and when she questioned the billing she was assured by a staff member that the charge would be removed. Months later after the billing wasn't removed the officer manager, Jeanette, was contacted and she refused to remove the charge. It's amazing what a dishonest employee will do to try and screw someone out of $25. We'll see what the end result is after a complaint with the Medical Quality Assurance Board is reviewed.
