I made a last minute SOS call the night before Thanksgiving for a crack of dawn, 415 pick up. Dispatcher Dennis answered the call. He assured me - do not worry, we will find you a driver and he will show up. Sure enough -he made his promise good. With such short notice for a major holiday, he showed up and drove me himself! He gave me a call back the night before to let me know what was going on, he gave me a 30 min heads up call in the morning, and he even showed up a little EARLY at that ungodly hour. He was professional, engaging, interesting, and all in all wonderful. I was very, very worried reading reviews about all the taxi services in the Monterey area- they were dismal at best. Wanted to give a big thanks to Cathy of the Central Coast Cab Co. The other day she transported my 94 year old mother from Forest Hill in Pacific Grove over to the Hartnell Medical Center in Monterey and back. Mom's in a wheelchair these days and needs additional care and attention in outings like this. Cathy was very friendly and most helpful in seeing to moms needs and stayed with her and comforted her during this difficult adventure. None of this was easy during the Covid-19 pandemic. I pre-arranged an early airport ride. They didn't show or answer their phone when I called. Hoping their poorly rated competitor shows up.

These days when everyone is using Uber or Lyft, taxicab companies are going downhill. Cab companies are expensive and slow. But Central Coast cab company still believes in customer service and being on time. My parents came from out of town for a visit a couple of months ago and called yellow cab after dinner. They waited 45 minutes and finally just decided to walk. So I told them about central coast cab because I had experience with them. My parents used them for the rest of their trip here and one of the cabdrivers gave them a tour of Fort Ord. They have also helped me out a couple of times when I've been in a bind and missed the bus or just needed a taxi cab for some reason. I just feel like they are safe and reliable and right now they are the only taxi cab company in the area that I would recommend. read more

My cab driver ran 5 minutes late, ran out of fuel halfway to my bus stop, and caused me to miss my 3:45 AM bus to the airport (and i had booked the cab 20 minutes before my pickup time). I ended up having to run the rest of the way down a dark street at 3:30 in the morning and he still charged me $20 despite not even getting me to my destination. I missed my bus, had to Lyft home, and then drive myself as fast as I could to the San Jose Airport. What should have been a $10-15 ride to a location 10 minutes from my house ended up being a $75+ fiasco between getting a Lyft back to my house, missing my bus, airport parking, and the fee this guy had the nerve to charge me. Hands down the worst cab experience of my life. Not only will I never use this service again, I will never take a cab again. Save yourself the hassle and hail a rideshare. read more

If you are on a tight schedule when timing and reliability matters, I highly recommend having a backup plan. (Or better yet, just find another ride). I scheduled a ride to Monterey Regional Airport and the taxi did not show up. I called to ask what was going on and the person that picked up the phone said none of his drivers are responding to his calls. I ended up just driving to the airport because I did not want to miss my flight. Of course, now I will have to pay for parking (I think the long term lot is $13/day). Too bad Yelp doesn't allow zero star reviews; these guys don't even deserve one star. read more

I called them for an early pickup to the airport 4:30am for a 6:00am flight departure for the next day. They confirmed my address and said they would pick us up. on the morning we were to leave no one showed up. I called them at 4:40 and they said they would see who was supposed to show up. At 4:55am we gave up and drove to the airport after no call back and no show. The airport parking was very expensive vs what a reasonable cab ride would have cost. The night before we scheduled a 5am pickup to go from pebble beach to the Monterey airport and the driver never showed up and we were directed to an answering machine when we called the booking number. Shameful . We had to drive and leave our car at airport. read more

I called them at 7:58am for a ride. Waited 15 minutes. Then gave them a 2nd call. The guy told me that he would have the driver call me. The driver never called me. Then a tax just drove past me. I call them again. The guy said, "Ug, great! I will call the drive," and hung up. Waited 6 more minutes. The driver never came back, nor called. And the guy who called never said "sorry"sorry." I would never use Central Coast Cab. I called another cab, Yellow Cab. The drive arrived in less than 10 min. read more

I called at 7:00 the night before to schedule a 4:30 am pickup for the airport. Easy scheduling. The driver showed up 5 minutes early, grabbed my bags, had a clean car, and got me to the airport with plenty of time. Same price that ride hailing services quoted, but they don't support scheduling in the area. Would definitely recommend. read more
