I first saw Bryan teaching at the Central Coast Golf Academy (CCGA), where I practice, and given that I was looking for a teacher I couldn't resist setting-up my practice station close to where he was teaching. I liked what I heard and when I asked a couple of his students their impressions of Bryan I got very enthusiastic recommendations. My first lesson with Bryan did not disappoint. He impressed me as not only perceptive but as someone who could listen as well as he observed. He moved quickly to isolate elements of my very average golf skills and began to lay foundations for a more solid golf swing. He did not drown me with too many observations and always asked me what my "swing thoughts" were, frequently finding that my notions were well intentioned but were not going to produce the results I sought. I am new to golf, and I have taken lessons with Dani Tracy, over the past 3 winters. I spend a few months in California, to escape the Minnesota winter, and was fortunate enough to find my way to Dani at Central Coast Golf Academy! She has taken me from learning the fundamentals of a swing, to thinking about more advanced technical skills. She not only has helped me understand the mechanics of a swing, but has taught me how to analyze my own swing and self-correct, especially when I hit a not-as-good shot. I had started hitting everything right - no matter what I did. Then I started taking lessons from Dani Tracy. Everyone I played with who had taken lessons recommended Dani. Dani watched me swing and made some suggestions on how to correct my problem - and everything she told me really worked! Dani also looked at my clubs and said I should look at getting new clubs - that mine were "starter clubs" and that I had grown beyond them. I've had three lessons with Dani, and I really appreciate her teaching style. She took my swing and made small adjustments that have translated to straight drives and 15 more yards with the irons. I have experienced the benefit of taking lessons with Bryan Pierce for 4 lessons over the past 3 months. Bryan is patient, polite and professional and communicates in lay men's terms that are easy to understand. During each lesson, we have worked on an area for improvement and I am seeing positive signs. I've been learning the game for three summers now and after growing frustrated by my inconsistent ball striking, especially on fairway shots, I took five lessons from Dani Tracy. She helped me understand why I would hit it fat then hit it thin and occasionally hit it like I wanted to. Her teaching area at the academy has a big mirror and that helped me see what I was doing wrong, then she was so patient with me as I tried to change from my previous swing to a consistent backswing and follow through. The golf academy is by far the best facility of it's kind from Santa Barbara to King City and perhaps farther. I've taken lessons from both Jordan Bridges and, more recently, Bryan Pierce. My 8 yr. old son became a member of the Jr. Golf program a year ago and is currently competing with kids from kids on the Unites States and around the world. CCGA's program focuses on developing and fine-tuning basic fundamental skills. Furthermore, it caters to the beginner up to the more advanced regardless of age. The Saturday Jr. Skills class is a great way to have the kids work on drills and learn the social aspects of golf. Our son enjoys going to the practice facility and feels at home with its surroundings. He enjoys talking golf with both young and older golfers. I took a series of lessons from Dani Tracy two years ago and that was extremely helpful. But what is really great, and has helped my game tremendously, is that the lessons really never stop. When I am at the academy, and Dani is there between lessons, she will come over and chat and see how thing are going. We will work on a few things, free of charge, and keep me tuned up. The Junior classes on Saturday , taught by Bryan Pierce, are challenging and great skill builders. My son enjoys the exercise and has improved his golf game. The course play is a lot of fun and relaxed. One recommendation would be more instruction during course play. The instructor can assess all aspects of the students game, providing bits of instructions along the way can maximize each players potential as a golfer. Bryan Pierce is a knowledgeable, patient and personable instructor. I would recommend him to anyone interested in learning to golf or in need of maintenance lessons.
