Micheal has extensive marine knowledge and is a bit of a jokester and funny guide, making for a very memorable trip.

The rental dock is right on the pier. It's 100 bucks for 1 hour. They give you instructions on how…read moreto drive where to go and how to pull back in. They also give you a little Bluetooth speaker for music. If you have kids they give you life jackets. The boat itself I believe fits 7-8 people. They also encourage you to bring food and just relax. The area isn't to big so I didn't think we'd use the whole 1 hour. We actually did because my boys enjoyed it so much. We all really loved that we got to see the sea otters and seals a little closer than usual. The scenery is beautiful as well. Not to many people in the mornings and the sun is as out in full affect. A great time was had. Anyone wanting to try but nervous the boat might be hard to drive it wasn't. The guy helping us compared it to driving a golf cart. Very easy to drive and the ride was smooth. Highly suggest them if you're in the area.

They both wished to be cremated and have their ashes mixed together and scattered in front of Pirates Cove, which is where they shared their first kiss at the end of their first date in 1960. Unfortunately, that area is now a nude beach and it's people no one wants to see naked. Additionally, we had a pretty good sized crew of people coming for the scattering, so little zodiac boats weren't gonna get the job done. I lucked out in 2023 because the start of the fishing season got pushed into May. This allowed us to rent one of patriot charters and accommodate our entire crew for the scattering in a very safe, easy to access (we have many elderly folks with mobility issues) manner. I was concerned there may be an odor because it IS a fishing vessel, but everything was very clean and well kept. The staff were so incredibly considerate of our loss and behaved in an incredibly kind way. Instructions were simple and concise, and we were able to leave right on time, cruising the bay and playing some of Moms and dad's favorite music as we celebrated their journey. Moments after we scattered their ashes, the captain approached me quietly and slipped me a business card with the exact coordinates of where we had sprinkled mom and dad. That was going above and beyond as far as I'm concerned, and it never even dawned on me to ask for that - but I'm sure glad I have it. It is now a very tasteful, small tattoo signifying my parents final resting place. Thank you so much to patriot fishing, I know this wasn't a fishing review, but I can only imagine how good they take care of their fishing customers if this is how they treat grieving families. I have waited for this trip since April. My first trip canceled to wind. Even though it was a…read morebeautiful day where I was 20 minutes away It was, not good the captain says and the captain knows best. But my day came yesterday, Beautiful day at 6AM we meet at Morro Bay. I met the 3 other fisherman, Mark and his son Cassidy, and his son Carter. This trip which is a put together trip I was sone person that did not have to pay for the whole boat. Just my 1/4th. Captain Rich was on time to pick us up on his boat and off we went through the inlet and out to see north towards Cambria. Captain explained to us what our plans were and the options we could choose. Halibut was our primary target, rock fish and ling cod 2nd, and if the salmon were biting that could change everything. On our second drift Carter caught a nice California halibut a few inches over legal. After several drifts nothing on Halibut so we changed to rock fish. Captain Rich put us on the meat as we all started to fill our limits with Reds, Ling and a mix of other rock fish. As it slowed the Captain said let's go find some sandy bottom and get back to Halibut. His intel said that the salmon were just not biting so we all agreed let's find the halibut. WE had a few bites and then I hooked up with a nice 15 pounder. Captain had some nice sandy bottoms for us to try and get them, but they just did not cooperate. All in all I loved this trip and the captan and fishing style. I have been on the Virgs and Black Pearl 6 times a year but this is the way to really enjoy fishing . Personal attention to the gear and how we are using it. Fun, Fun, Fun I look forward to many more trips with CCFC.

Although it wasn't an ideal time for whale watching he took us out 7 miles from the coast & we saw 2 gray whales & plenty of pods of dolphins. On the way back to the marina the wind picked up & we were cruising at 8 knots & the front of the boat dipped in the water. It was exciting & thrilling. This was the highlight of this trip to the central coast. Captain Kevin is awesome & we can't wait to see him again when the peak whale season starts.
