My insurance should have been better verified so that I did not spend nearly a $1000 for a procedure that should have cost less than $250. When I returned for the second eye, they were going to charge me again until I explained that I had already overpaid with the first eye. They then applied the overcharge to the second eye. I am still waiting for the remainder to get refunded. My first surgery was April 2, 2026. My second was April 30, 2026. It's now June 17th and it may still be another month before I get the overpayment back.

So the same insurance that was billed for the surgery is no longer acceptable? I don't have the $700+ to pay out of pocket (especially since my deductible has been satisfied for the year) so I am forced to find another surgeon to correct the problem. I feel as though Dr Digaetano just abandoned me. Because of this, I cannot recommend Digaetano Cataract Services.
