I cannot understand why they have so many communication issues at this location. Maybe they cater to farmers and don't care as much about residential mower customers, or maybe the staff is not well trained, but on multiple occasions I have ordered parts or had my mower picked up for service and never get a call on the status. I purchased the mower at a JD dealer so it isn't the big box store model... yet still zero communication from this location. I've also had staff members tell me that my mower was too old (it's 10 years old, used 25x per year and cost $4K). Hopefully the owners will get customer service training for the staff. The came to pick up my Zero Turn. After having it for a month they returned it and charged me $1,100.00 for the repair. I cut a little section of the lawn by the side of my house and it wasn't running right. It ran out of gas and I went to get gas, but stopped to pull some weeds, when I got back to the lawnmower, it was up in flames. Totally destroyed by a huge fire. They claim that it wasn't their fault and they are not going to do anything about it. Kind of strange how it catches fire after they totally checked out the lawnmower and fixed anything that was wrong with it. I seriously doubt that it was returned to me in perfect working condition. Take a look at the photos and you judge if this looks like it was repaired properly. Keep in mind that if you do buy a John Deere Mower that there are parts and repair instructions that are not made available so you have to go back to them and they do overcharge for everything. I called today, for a snow blower belt and some shear bolts. When I told him what snow blower I had, he replied thats old, might be a problem, or something like that. The parts person declined to give me a part number for the belt, but has one in stock. I also wanted some back up shear bolts. Since the dealer is about an hour away, I asked about shipping. The answer was we are open till 5 if want to come get it. I wish I still had my Craftsman, My wife insisted on the John Deere. Love her, not the Deere. read more

I went to CJE Friday, October 18, with the intention of buying a new Stihl chainsaw. I walked around their (nice!) showroom for approximately 20 minutes looking at their chainsaw inventory. Although I heard voices behind the counter, at no time did anyone come out to ask me how they could help me. I left, vowing never to return. Customer service there is non-existent. Terrible communication on a repair. After multiple phone calls over several days today I was told they are 2 weeks behind. I had my windshield blowup twice on a 1025R. The first time I did not know that there was a design flaw and willingly accepted responsibility The second time i did some research and discovered that this was an on going problem.No one at this company informed me of the problem. Also, there was supposed to be a sticker on the windshield warning the operator that opening the window and using the FEL was an issue. There was no sticker.. Worst service in any dealership that I've ever dealt with in the past 45 years I've been farming owners are cocky and arrogant and don't care about longtime customers I've had a tractor there that they said will be fixed in three days after three weeks they never touched it and had another dealer pick it up out of their yard fix it and bring it back to me the very next day the owners should be ashamed of themselves !!! One owner told me they are on a five-year rotation with their trucks meaning about every five years they change their dealerships where they buy their trucks basically telling me to go to another John Deere dealer and after I pre-paid them $25,000 they don't even deserve one star !!! read more

This place is the biggest rip off I've ever come across they sold me a annual service package in excess of 900.00 including tax and after two years they tell you oh it's only for two years, when did annual mean only two years. After several weeks of shopping and discussing options I decided against purchasing a left over 2014 model x750 opting, instead for a 1025R. The main reason was because the salesperson told me that I would be getting a 2017 model. After taking delivery I determined that I received a 2015 model. That had been sitting outside for the past 2 years. This is why I didn't buy the 2014 model. Phone calls have gone unreturned and no responses to emails at this point. My husband ordered parts for his John Deere Riding Lawnmower from this company. I went into the store to pick up parts since my husband is handicapped and in a wheelchair he stayed in the car. I returned to the car with the parts in hand and he told me they were the incorrect parts. Back into the store I went and was sold more parts to add to the part that my husband claims is incorrect. Now getting tired of going in and out of the store with more and more parts, I asked to refund the parts until my husband takes out the defective part to see what he actually needs. I WAS CHARGED A RE-STOCKING FEE OF 20% ON ALL THE PARTS, EVEN THOUGH I NEVER LEFT THE STORE. Told my husband to find a new place to do business. That is absolutely ridiculous. read more

Do not buy from these people. They are not honest in their dealings. We bought a used tractor from them that we were told was in great condition. In fact it is not. They had removed the warning buzzers from the tractor to make it difficult to tell that the tractors emissions system was in stage 5 failure. read more

Bought an S240 and bagger from this dealer back in March. The saleswoman suggested I "move quickly" on purchasing as there was low inventory, so I went ahead and purchased. 2 days before the delivery, the saleswoman called to let me know the bagger is backordered and would likely not be back in stock until late spring. That was OK with me as I wasn't going to need the bagger until the late spring anyway. Well now it is June 7th and I still do not have a bagger. Everytime I call to check in I get the same run around "I am still waiting and you are on the top of my list along with a few other guys waiting". They could never give me an estimated date as to when the bagger would actually be in stock. I thought that was weird so I called over to Power Place in Rockaway and the sales guy over there walked me through the situation and even called John Deere to get an estimated delivery date. Told me it wouldn't be until the end of August. Now I know why CJE wouldn't give me an estimate...they know it won't be until the end of summer. What happened to HONESTY and INTEGRITY listed as values on your website. I won't purchase here again. read more

Did not fix my power washer correctly, when brought back said would fix right away. Went back a week later and found it sitting outside, was outside all week during thunderstorms. They are quite rude and let their customers stand in line while ignoring them for 10-15 minutes before addressing them, bunch of angry incompetent men. read more

Notice a trend with John Deere L series homeowner Lawn Mower/Tractors. I've elderly parent owns L110 & elderly cousin owns L100. L110 has Auto Trans & L100 has Spicer 5 speed manual trans. The K46 I ordered parts elsewhere and repair complete. This transmission is known as the throw-away & known to break. But John Deere is all to happy to replace for almost price of whole mower or upgrade to heavier model auto trans for over the price of new mower. Apparently the same must be said for the Spicer 5 speed since my cousin's L100 had an issue not shifting. Both he & wife near 80 & in poor health. I've 47 years as Technician NIASE/ASE Auto/Truck and severalTrade Schools Small Engine/former service tech. & bus. owner. I gave it up due to time. I've worked for the military going on 39 years now. Once apart I found broken gear tooth & jammed gear set. I contacted the bus. for price & ordering information. The broken gear comes with meshing opposite gear as a set for wear purposes and price given was $83 & change. The Synthetic Grease apparently from Spicer division of DANA corp. for inside parts also price $13 & change a tube. I said let me talk to my cousin & call you tomorrow. I called no answer & had to call the following day. After numerous tries I got parts Dept. spoke to another guy who gave me price $7 more $90 on the gear set & $7 ($20) more for ea. Synthetic grease tube. My cousin was upset as was I and the part was ordered elsewhere for $83 including shipping. I bit the bullet due to my busy schedule & paid for 2 tubes of synthetic grease $40+ dollars. I was told it would be about 3 days to come in. A week has gone by, I called several times to see if it arrived...no answer & no return call. I drove over today, got waited on right away and was told...they don't make the grease anymore. I asked if they still make the 5 speed...yes. I said then they make the grease or have another brand. I asked why they couldn't give me a courtesy call to say so or say come in for refund etc... No reply other than we're looking for other grease. I got home, took 5 minutes on the computer & found about 20 diff. manufacturers of synthetic gear, machinery & equip. grease. I would not own a John Deere Mower if you gave it to me & I will try every thing in my future power to avoid this buis. Friends, relatives & associates know my credentials enough said. I contacted John Deere Corporation in Molene, Ill. & passed the info on. This place I'm told charges $100 or so labor per hour in addition to parts cost. I was also told they don't take the transmissions apart they replace the whole assy. You put your own label on this matter now you're informed! read more

This business is really not even worthy of a single star. Last April, after several attempts and unreturned phone calls, I was able to schedule service on my John Deere lawn tractor. The tractor was picked up on April 4th and I was told it would take about two weeks before the work could be done. After three weeks and several unanswered phone calls I went to the shop. It was like dealing with a group of sixth graders, who at first weren't even able to locate my tractor or any of my paperwork. I was finally told that it hadn't yet been scheduled for service. It took a month to finally get the work done and when it was returned, the mower deck was not level and off balance. Rather that go through the mayhem again I leveled it myself. This year I called several times in April for service only to get a voice mail and no reply. This morning the drive belt came off. I called again and got the same voice mail and the same no response. So I've found a new service provider. Under the previous owner this was a well run local business with a good reputation for service. Now it's a joke read more

No stars deserved. Been dealing with the Hammonton dealer for several months now. I bought a new X300 and traded in a LT 133. Should have kept the LT 133. The salesman said they would sell it for me on consignment. Dealer said it needed some parts and I agreed. Then they said it had it sold but now needed more parts. That was two weeks ago and since I did not receive proceeds from the sale I called them. They said oh the purchase did not happen. You would think they would have called me. The customer service from the start has been terrible. My first encounter in the dealership was the parts desk where I wanted to ask some questions about my LT133. Before I could ask my question, the guy (angry from some in-house issue) proclaimed "nobody talks to anyone here. No one knows what the other is doing". Seemed pretty strange and I probably should have walked out then and never came back. But there are only a handful of John Deere dealers in South Jersey and they were my only good option. I have read other reviews on line about poor service at John Deere dealers. If you want one I guess you have to persevere. So I buy the X300 and first time using it I run over a stump. Crap. Let's just say I was promised certain dates for repair which they later said they did not promise. I ended up having to buy two additional sets of new blades because they said my blades were chipped. Truth is they were brand new. They sell many blade types and some have a chamfered corner. That's what the Parts guy said , but the girl at the service desk said oh no, they must have been chipped somehow. So tired of this and their attitude, I paid the bills an hope never to have to go back there again. That was before yesterday when they said my old tractor is still there since it has not sold. I am pretty sure they will charge me to return it to me as I have no confidence in what they say or that they will ever sell it. read more
