    Apple picking. Dog-friendly!
    Joyce H.

Apples, cider, donuts, cute farm animals, hay rides, sunflowers, and it's dog-friendly -- honestly, what's not to love? Tip: Buy your entry tickets online -- it's cheaper than getting them at the gate! This place runs on a "park-and-pick" setup, meaning you'll drive to different spots around the farm for each activity. Apple picking is by bag size, not by the pound -- the smallest bag was $7.50 and fit about 10-12 apples. It was hot the day we went, so we stuck to apple picking and cooled off at the marketplace afterward (skipped the maze and sunflowers). The cider and donuts were just okay compared to other farms I've been to, but the apple cider slush? Totally addictive (even if it's $9 -- ouch). Once the sun eased up later in the afternoon, we stopped by to see the goats and chickens and hopped on the hay ride -- the perfect cozy ending to the day.

How scenic! And a farm FULL of activities! Upon arrival there's benches with umbrellas by the store. Clear markings for the bathroom on the right. The farm can also double as a rental for a wedding reception. Further driving in on the left are the strawberry and radish fields. We picked them in May. Ripe red strawberries were EVERYWHERE. On the right side of the farm has peaches and apples. The owner shared about his piglets and how he trained them. If you clap your hands on the hayride, the herd might appear and follow you. Kid friendly, dog friendly, playground, sand box, and a goat zoo with picturesque views of the fields. Theres so much to do and see! Can't wait to come again.

The minus on points are on prices. Visited on a Friday at the end of the season and entry was $7.50/person; only 2 people it's ok but I can imagine how crazy expensive it could get at peak time if you're a big family with kids. This is all before spending on picking, market, wine and possibly grill. The grill wasn't available but the things we did get at the market were good. The ice cream, donuts and meat were good. But chocolate covered the pretzels were not. Got 5 bag of chocolate covered pretzels were $5+, almost $6 a bag for 3 inside. Which I would be ok paying if it was good but it was not. And the unfortunate part is that they were being gifted and I only found out that they ware stale from the recipients. I have no complaints on the staff encountered, they were all fairly nice. Would probably visit again simply because they are dog friendly. I just know what to buy/not buy next time around.

We came to Johnson's for a Holiday event and we also went there once before for a 5 course dinner. Both events were catered by Tuscanos and the food was tasty and creative! The staff at Johnson's is very friendly and the Holiday event had a Santa who was looked amazing and was taking pictures with everyone!! They always do an amazing job decorating. Its worth checking online the details of the events because each one is unique. They have more expensive events that would be perfect for a date night or valentines day and they have cheaper options for the family to go to as well.

It's a nice farm, and we enjoyed visiting here. They have a nice setup. We started by going apple picking, walking through sunflowers, pumpkin fields, flower fields, and a nice hayride--all for one flat entrance fee. The restaurant/farm store was nice. They had many crafts and foods. They had singers singing nice country music. It was in late September before the rush of the October crowd, so it was manageable. We enjoyed taking our time going through each part of the farm. I would return, maybe even next September. I strongly recommend bringing a family and spending a day here if you want something to do in the fall.

This was our first time at Johnson Locust Hall farm and it was hands down our favorite place we have gone to over the years. The only thing I wished they had more of was games for kids to play and stay occupied like some other farms offer. However they do offer a lot and everything is very well organized and not overcrowded. Everything seemed very clean and well maintained. They are also pet friendly and allow leashes dogs! We started off with the apple picking and then pumpkin and sunflowers. They do have a maze at the pumpkin patch. After we paid for everything we headed over to the market. The market was the best spot! There were food trucks, a winery with tastings, fresh pies and baked goods and decor. The apple cider donuts were not "hot" as advertised.. they said they make them in the AM all at the same time so if you don't go in the morning they won't be hot. Prices were very reasonable compared to other similar places we have been too. They offer outside seating picnic table style and have umbrellas outside as well. They also offer a hayride and petting zoo with a few animals. Overall I would give it a 4 out of 5 for a couple reasons. 1) being not a lot of games or attractions for kids, 2.) I asked for a small cup of milk for my infant and they charged me for a cup of coffee $5.. even a gallon of milk doesn't cost $5, 3) When they have events they don't allow usage of the restroom which especially if I'm paying for tickets which we did I should be able to use a real restroom especially with children.

I go here every year for apple and pumpkin picking. After that I got over to the Farms store where they have wine, donuts and pastries. They also have food trucks that come if you are hungry. The best donuts ever, I always get them and they are warm!

I stopped by over the weekend and had one of the best times with my family. This farm has apple picking, pumpkin picking, corn fields and sunflower fields. There's a shop on the farm, food stands, animal farm and a winery. We really loved the apple picking. The trees are unlike any I've seen before. They are not tall and filed from top to bottom with delicious apples. We got a half bag that as under $9. They even told us to fill it all the way to the top and not be shy. They were all so sweet. We took some wonderful pictures in the sunflower field. You can purchase the flowers, but we passed on that. We were more interested in the seeds. These flowers have not yet developed to be eaten. The store was great. Had wonderful fall decor. I grabbed a vase for my house. They also had local honey, apple cider donuts (They were HEAVENLY), beautiful scented soaps and more! The food stand had great food too. The pulled pork nachos were my favorite. The hotdog was delicious as well. We made reservations for the wine tasting ahead of time. Glad we did. It was sold out for the day. We had a choice of five wines for under $8. Total steal. The wine was okay. The Halloween brew was my favorite. Grabbed two bottles. Can be served cold or hot which really caught my interest. Had a great spicy kick to it. Nothing overpowering. Sadly, my favorite, Cabernet was not tasteful. The hard apple ciders were good. Overall I'd do a tasting again for the cost. They had a live band playing which I really enjoyed. There is also a hall for wedding. We got to see a wedding going on and it looked absolutely breathtaking. My family really enjoyed this trip. Definitely will come back next fall!

Went to enjoy the Park and Pick- wonderful set up since you can drive close to the picking area. The market area has beautiful outdoor seating with a grill restaurant as well. Highly recommend!

Was a huge fan of this farm for fall activities. You must purchase/reserve tickets on their website which is about $11 per person and you are able to take whichever time slot fits your convenience. With that being said when you are actually at the farm it is super organized! You check in first with your ticket and they give you two slips. One that gives you all the pricing and explains all the fields. The second slip is to record everything you are purchasing for checkout later. You park then pick, first is the apples, then pumpkins, sunflowers and corn maze, and last is the market/checkout. Due to limited tickets and all the fields being spread out there are not many people which allows social distancing. Masks are only required at the tents and marketplace/parking lot so many people were out in the fields not wearing a mask. Personally my boyfriend and I had ours on the whole time to be considerate of others. But especially in the apple fields a majority were maskless. It was a fun afternoon and will be returning next year

Came here on a Sunday afternoon. In light of Covid instead of hayrides the farm is doing 4 stops but you drive to each in your own car. There's apple picking, pumpkin, sunflowers, corn maze and then you end up at the farm which had live music in the evening. All four stops were only $10 and then pay for whatever you pick. Def make reservations online for this and then the time by the barn with music is free. The hot cider was amazinggg as were the donuts that I brought home. Perfect socially distanced fall day.

Live Music, Night at the Farm.

Great local farm doing "Night at the Farm." Live music, catered food, ice cream, bottles of wine for sale. We decided to come out for our 4th Anniversary and it was perfect. We picked some corn and peaches, got a bottle of wine, had some ice cream. Lots of people on dates and people with kids just enjoying the night and farm. We will definitely be back. Had a great time.

The BEST farm in South Jersey!!! I have been going to the original Johnson's Farm since I was a toddler and was always such a huge fan of the family environment that they create, but in recent years the old Johnson's Farm lost some of its charm to become more commercialized. I'm so happy to report that Locust Hall is FULL of charm and brings you back to how farms like this used to be! At Locust Hall, you really get what you see. The prices are more than fair on everything from baked goods to whatever you pick in the fields, and when you go out to the fields you really are in the thick of where those products grow! Some other places pick the pumpkins for you and arrange them in a field so you can pretend you picked it yourself, but I was pleasantly surprised to have to actually cut my pumpkin off of its vine! It was incredible. There's also wine tastings from Tomasello Winery at a super reasonable price ($5 for 5 tastings and we got to keep the glass!) or you can buy a bottle and enjoy it right there in the shade. There's live music, snacks, board games and so many activities for kids and adults alike. My favorite part is that the farm is so dog friendly! I'm always trying to find somewhere that I can bring my German Shepherd mix, and this was the perfect place! Dogs are allowed everywhere except for inside the store and on certain hayride wagons, but as long as your dog is on a leash they get to experience everything at Locust Hall with you! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and seemed to share our love for the rustic charm of the property. I went two weekends in a row because I loved it so much! And being able to bring home freshly picked pumpkins, apples, and sunflowers was such a huge highlight. I will recommend this place to everyone I know. It was such a pleasure visiting and I will be back soon! Oh, and if you're looking for a stunning wedding venue, look here! I toured the grounds out of curiosity and was blown away by the charm, beauty, and detail of the wedding venue areas. I just beg everyone who visits to be respectful, make sure your dog is well behaved, and help keep this place quaint and charming for years to come!

We went on a Tuesday morning, and from the moment we pulled in, it was a great experience. When you arrive, they ask how many bags you want, give you big plastic bags, and then you're off to pick your own produce. We decided to pick collard greens, turnip greens, mustard greens, sweet potatoes, and a few peppers. Some items were out of season, so we bought those inside the market instead. Inside, we grabbed garlic, tomatoes, scallions, apples, onions, and a bottle of peach cider which I highly recommend! Everything was fresh and flavorful. The workers were all friendly, helpful, and welcoming. You can drive around the farm, park your car to the side, and pick whatever you need. When you're done, you stop at the booth, unload your items to be weighed, and pay there. They accept both cash and all major credit cards. A few tips: wear old clothes and shoes, and definitely don't get your car washed before going because everything gets dusty! I also saw a few people using scissors or knives to cut their vegetables, which is a smart idea, though we picked ours by hand. After getting home, cleaning everything, and cooking up the greens for dinner, I have to say they were the best greens I've ever had in my life. Farm-to-table food truly hits different. The prices were very fair and much cheaper than the supermarket & the quality was unbeatable. I highly recommend visiting this farm for some fresh, nutritious produce to feed your family.
