We've had such a wonderful experience at CNS, both before and after the change in ownership last fall. Under Nabanita's leadership, the transition was seamless, and our child truly flourished. The care has been enriching, and the academic progress we've seen has been remarkable--at just 4 years old, our child could write their name, name all the planets in the solar system, and would proudly tell us that "the sun is a big star." One of our favorite features of CNS has been the optional swimming lessons at the neighboring YMCA. Both of our kids attended CNS and participated in this program, and it's such an amazing opportunity for busy working parents. You simply drop your kids off with their swim gear in the morning, and CNS takes care of the rest. Our kids' swimming abilities improved greatly thanks to this program, and they loved it! We've also loved the special events that Nabanita organizes for holidays, including Mother's Day and Father's Day celebrations where the children make special presents and perform a song for their parents. These thoughtful touches only deepen the sense of community that makes CNS so special. The community at CNS is truly something unique. The school is the perfect size--big enough for kids to have plenty of friends their own age, but small enough that they get individual attention. Parents naturally form close relationships, and many of the families we met during our time there remain close friends years later. We're so grateful to Nabanita, Ms. Zandra, and the whole team for providing such a warm, supportive, and enriching environment for both of our children. So glad our neighbor referred us to this hidden gem for our daughter. She attended the school for over 1.5 years and experienced the transition from the previous owner/head teacher to the new owner/head teacher Ms. Nabanita. We were a bit nervous at first with the transition but ms.Nabanita handled it very professionally. She took the time to meet with the parents as a group and individually to address our concerns. We could not have been more pleased with the learning and play curriculum implemented by Ms. Nabanita. One day, my daughter came home and sang the days of the week song. Another day, she came home and told us about the United States of America! lol she's just over 3 years old. We're amazed at how much she's learning and retaining while having fun at the same time. Ms.Nabanita does a great job of balancing learning with art and play so the kids can be kids. I love seeing my daughter's progression in the artworks sent home at the end of each month. Overall, I appreciate the attention Ms.Nabanita gives to each child to focus on their strengths. She doesn't push if they're uncomfortable or not ready to do something. Everyday my daughter mentions Ms.Nabanita by name and that makes me so happy bc I know she's enjoying her time there. The parents are also great. There's a real sense of community and we are fortunately to have connected with many of them. Unfortunately, the commute from our new home was not ideal so we made the hard decision to withdraw from the program. We will miss our teachers and friends there. Thank you CNS! read more

I have known the owner, Nabanita, for years. She is very professional, and she has gone above and beyond put the wellness of the children at the forefront. I have never seen a preschool put that much care into every aspect of a child's environment. She has put so much effort into self-development, is highly educated and highly respected in the business community. The staff and care givers are wonderful, understanding, accommodating and the center is very clean. I appreciate all the support and service they provide to the parents. I can now confidently write that the new owners/operators of Central Day Nursery are doing a great job! The transition has been smooth. Central Nursery is where my oldest kid went for a little over 2 years and where my 2 year old daughter is currently attending the school. This school was under a different management when my son went there. It was a fun and safe place then. The new management under Mrs. Nabanita has gotten even better. She has the kids doing more work besides just having fun and being kids. She spends one on one time with the kids which is very nice to see. I think not only is Mrs. Nabanita good at what she does but she also enjoys spending time with the kiddos. I was hesitant after the management change but to my surprise it has somehow gotten even better, and I don't think I can think of any other place for my little daughter anywhere in the rose garden area. My little girl loves her school, and it is nice to see her learning new skills and enjoying life in a super safe and caring environment. All the other parents who were once hesitant after the management change are now extremely happy and loving what Mrs. Nabanita is doing with our little loved ones. My daughter made me the cutest card for fathers day that had her real photo in a space-ship going to the moon and back cause she loves me that much :-) It was also nice to see our little ones putting a coordinated show for father's and mother's day to us the parents. One of the things I like about the new management is how Mrs Nabanita is able to cater her service to the need of a specific parent's needs. It was nice to get a video update of my daughter playing with other kids right after drop off for the first two weeks to ease and calm my wife's nerves because it was a very hard transition for both mom and daughter. Mrs Nabanita has been such a nice surprise and knowing that the first 3 years of a toddler's life are the most crucial, I am glad this school under the new management is nurturing my daughter's brain and her sense of being. read more

My daughter started CNS 2 months ago, We absolutely love it. She has thrived these past two months after 7 months of being home with us during quarantine. I love the attention and interaction she receives. I love the age appropriate classes and lessons. When I drop her off she is always happy to be there, one Friday morning I dropped her off a little later than usual and she was so happy to be there she was hopping and spinning as I was signing her in. I am a very leery mom so this means so much to me and makes me feel comfortable leaving my child in CNS care. read more

Central Nursery School and Daycare is fabulous! Two of our daughters attended from the age of 2 to 5 years old. They leave prepared for kindergarden, ready to actively participate and excited to learn more! The staff is fabulous, happy and consistent in their teaching approach. Rarely did I ever see or hear of a crying or unhappy child. They potty train! The Director, Lori, has been there for many years (though you'd never know it to look at her) and I sincerely believe it's her attitude and philosophy about learning and mentoring young minds that make the difference! When it was time for us to move on to kindergarden, I begged her to expand into grade school! Lol. Both of my daughters left with lifelong friendships... and precious memories of their time spent at Central. Highly, highly recommend this school! read more

concur with all the past reviews and it's still wonderful! this play based school has such a warm & relaxed environment and, most importantly, the best teachers. they've all be there for a long time. kids comes home loving to read, learn and ask questions. plenty of outdoor time and freedom for kids to choose their own activities & discover. there's also story time, art project, and swimming class at the YMCA in the summer! they are a no-tech operation in Silicon Valley and still consistently full enrollment, which says a lot about the quality. read more

My oldest son started with Central at age 2 and was there until he started kindergarten at age 5 1/2. A few months later, my younger son started just after age 2 and is currently enrolled. My husband and I feel so fortunate to have found Central Nursery School. The preschool has been in business for 35+ years and has experienced, knowledgeable, empathetic and friendly teachers, each of whom has been with the preschool long-term. These ladies are the BEST out there (in my humble opinion!) They treat the kids (and parents) with respect, you will never hear them yelling, speaking harshly or putting down your child. It is a COMPLETELY positive environment. The minute you step inside the gate of Central, the happiness of the children exudes all around. Central provides a "home-like" atmosphere for the kids, which I think helps them adjust quickly and really WANT to spend their days here. The children are separated into groups by age (Papooses, Braves and then Chiefs) and are given an age-appropriate curriculum between art projects, counting projects, learning and recognizing letters, spelling their names, story time and singing songs. We love when our little guy comes home singing us the songs he's learned in the week! They get plenty of outside play time and there are two playgrounds that are structured for age appropriateness. Everyone naps (or has quiet time) for 2 hours in the early afternoon. Snacks and drinks are provided, but you do bring your own lunch (which works great for us since we have a semi-picky eater and we can tailor his lunch to what we know he will eat). If you are considering a preschool, you definitely want to put Central at the top of your list of places to visit! read more

Our daughter went here for two years. She learned so much and even on the first day didn't cry. The staff did everything they could to make her comfortable. You can see they have a special connection with each child. Each teacher knows each age group. The best part is the director sets the learning curriculum as if they it was kindergarten (of course age appropriate) they are 100% ready for kindergarten when leaving Central Nursery school. My oldest daughter went to Central Nursery school back in 1987 and her brothers and sister followed. Ms. Laurie, Miss Bell, Doris, Mr. Bell. We are new to this school and absolutely love it. The teachers are wonderful and the children are obviously happy and thriving. This is my daughter's first experience in a preschool environment and she literally jumps out of the car and runs in every morning with a huge smile on her face. I was worried about transitioning her from her babysitter (a family friend) to a more structured environment but I'm very happy that we did. read more

My daughter (5) and son (3) have been going to Central Nursery for almost a year now and I'm extremely pleased that we chose to send them there. The staff/teachers, whom have been there a long time, are friendly and caring. I love the small classroom sizes and curriculum. The kids get ample time to paint/draw, and play outdoors. At the end of each month, the teachers put together a packet of all the projects/paintings your child did that month. I look forward to getting them every time. It's such a treat. My five year old learned to write her name early on and is now writing her brother's name. She is also able to recognize and write every letter in the alphabet. I feel she's well prepared as she enters kindergarten in two weeks. Our daughter has been going to CNS since she was 2 1/2....we absolutely love it as well as she. The first day I think I cried more than she did...I called about 15 minutes later after I arrived to work and asked how she was. She pretty much stopped crying a minute or two after I left and was playing well with her classmates. I was so happy to hear that she was interacting and doing so well on the first day. I was home with her for the first 2 1/2 yrs and so it was a hard adjustment for both of us (well me mostly obviously). Since then the days, weeks, months, years have been better and better. We couldn't be happier with CNS...and the staff is great. They are consistent with the kids, and teach them what they need to know to enter into their next level of learning. Our daughter will be entering kindergarten this fall 2013, and with all the things she's already learned here at CNS...we have all the confidence that she will thrive when she enters elementary school. Thank you to each and every one of the staff members for always being so nice and patient with my daughter as well as us parents. It's great to see such a family bond at the school. Also, the parents of the children are just as wonderful...some I now call friends and will continue to see after our kids go to different schools. It's been a delight to have such an all around fantastic experience after hearing such horror stories from others I know with other schools they have sent their children to.
