John answered his phone on my first call and stopped by my home within a few hours for a free consultation/inspection. While my request wasn't urgent I truly appreciate his responsiveness and timeliness. Good news! The stucco front is in great shape with only one small surface crack which we can easily repair ourselves with stucco putty. He pointed out a few small gaps between our windows and wood frames and made the suggestion to fill those in with caulking to avoid potential water leakage when it rains. That was nice friendly advice and again, something we can do ourselves or hire a basic handy person. JVP could have easily tried to take advantage of what probably could be perceived as a naive person (although I would never let that happen...have another company scheduled to do the same inspection) but instead was honest, professional and really informative. I know home repair reviews aren't the most exciting to read, but Yelp is my first go to place for everything. I want to make sure JVP gets the credit and consideration it deserves.

The front door has been on our list for a long time. I went to 4 different companies to quote the project. One company said they wouldn't do it because of the complexity. One said it would take 6 months to get a specialty door ordered and they wanted half the money up front. So basically paying thousands of dollars for a door I won't see for the better part of a year. Pass. The other company said they would need to rip the door off before they could give me a quote. Nightmare all around. Broadview was able to provide a reasonably priced quote and a 3 month lead time that ended up collapsing down to 2 months! I communicated with Ed for the sale and contract. My installation team was Randy, Bart, and Jamie. Absolutely stellar crew. Outstanding craftsmanship that exceeded my expectations. I did not think we'd get that door centered on the opening due to complexities of the HVAC and structure of the original door vs the new door. It looks marvelous like it was meant to be there, centered, correct size and color. One of the guys said they've been doing this for 42 years and this was the second hardest door he's done. And the only reason he could do it is because he worked in New England where all the homes were old. They also installed 3 layers of insulation because our door had none. Like I said, the list for this home never ends. Grateful for the team, their pristine attention to detail and their commitment to craftsmanship. We are thrilled with our new door!

I am also attaching pictures of the caulk job and the damage that was done below the window. Overall with this experience I would not recommend this company. I had ordered windows in September of 2021 and still have not had them installed as of 1/29/2022. The second week of December 2021, I had called to see where the windows were and how much longer it would be until install. It took 3-4 days in order to get an answer. The receptionist would constantly put me over to people who had no idea what was going on and would promise to give me a call back, which would never happen. The Week before Martin Luther King Dr. Day, I finally get a call from who I think is the owner who said that they have my windows, and they could install next day. Unfortunately I work in health care and it is almost impossible to get off at that short of notice, which is something I feel like this person could not grasp. We settled for Martin Lurther King Jr. Day because I was off work. Unfortunately I was scheduled for install in the morning and we had 4-6 inches of snow and according to the owner they had the truck which was stuck in Delaware. No big deal, these things happen and I would feel awful if someone got into a traffic accident or hurt, and said that he was very sorry and would try to reschedule on a Saturday, which was something they rarely do. He said he would call up a team and would call me back to confirm. Never did call me back pertaining to scheduling on a Saturday. I am now suppose to get them installed the second week of February, we will see if it actually happens this time. Overall I have been very underwhelmed with the communication of this company and at this point the amount of money paid is not worth the service, especially one that I have yet to receive almost half a year later

"Mike" came out to take measurements for an estimate of a porch plus a deck. His estimate for a 20ft X 14ft porch was $58,000; his estimate for a (roughly) 22ft X 16ft deck was $39,848. I called to ask why the porch, which was only 2 feet bigger than the special that was advertised was $20,000 more and if we could do something different to decrease the cost such as change the porch size or the materials. He told me no. And that right now, because there's so much work, they can pretty do what they want and what they want to do is increase their profits on porches which are harder to do than decks. I asked him if they would honor the "special" they had been advertising when we called them to come do the estimate. He said that their "website should be updated already." But that doesn't change the fact that they were advertising $38,000 for a 20ft X 12ft porch when we called- and there was no deadline for that price. Anyway, seems shady. They reeled us in with the advertised $38,000 porch price but then gave us an estimate where the porch was way more but the deck, which is, according to Mike, easier and more profitable, is $39,000. What a coincidence! Would not trust them. Glad we walked away.

The owner, Matt Skellan is not to be trusted, he does not honor the contract his salesman sold. Over a period of 2 months after the job was "completed" I got a call from Matt, he decided he would resolve the problem in the next week but has never called back or sent anyone to fix it. Contract was written "all hardware added/replaced" Owner said "hinges are not hardware" Find another contractor!
