I had my first appointment with Dr. Sarah Dawson at St. Charles Family Care yesterday. Normally I…read morewould wait to review something like this after a few visits but I was so pleased yesterday that I feel pretty confident leaving one now. I arrived early so I'd have time to fill out new patient forms but everything moved fairly quickly and it didn't take long at all for me to see her. Not to make this too personal (but that's kind of what I do lol) but I've been waiting over a month to talk to someone new about anxiety and to get more information about more MILD anxiety meds. My last doctor was so pushy about things I did not want to take and so naturally it was a fear of mine it would happen again here, but Dr. Dawson actually fully answered the questions I still had about the meds I've been researching and interested in and ultimately we both agreed they'd be a good option for me to try. After meeting with her I also talked with a psychologist they have. I didn't make an appointment prior to meet with him but he was available and they asked if I'd like to so I figured why not. It's more laid back than a full on commitment to go to therapy which made made it more comfortable for me. Basically he just helped me gain a better understanding of anxiety and panic disorders and went over tips to deal with it, things like that. Obviously this is not specifically a mental health clinic but I think it's good to point out this place is ALSO really helpful when it comes to it, and overall it's just a very well rounded place with lots to offer. I left relieved and listened to and I am actually excited to continue my care here and I'd absolutely recommend coming here!!

I got him circumcised a week after he was born and that doctor was nice but told me I needed to stop feeding him even if he did his hungry cry. I've only had 2 good experiences with a pediatrician and she works at the Bend High mosaic center. This company changes who my son is seeing and the times without telling me. And when I took him to the ER for vomiting because the triage nurse told me to they switched where he was going because "he wasn't healthy" according to the person calling me. My baby is a month tomorrow (4/8/20/ and I'm done with how the pediatricians take care of my son.

Terribly disappointing on two counts…read more First, during my initial intake in Dec 2016 I told the P.A. I have sensory integration problems and that I may take me a few extra seconds to answer her questions or that I may have to ask her to repeat the question or slow her rate of speech. She became very annoyed and said that she only has so much time to get all the information so I'd basically have to deal with it. As I said it take me a bit to process verbal information (especially when it is unexpected as in this case her rudeness) so I sat there as she continued with the exam. She also made a number of assumptions which she verbalized such as I must wear shoes too small (I had a toe issue) even though those I had shoe with a wide toe box and have never worn shoes too small. I told her that was not the case and she just gave a huff under her breath. Although the first appointment was lousy I thought I'd give her a second chance, after all we all have bad days, right? Big mistake, although during the second and third appointments (I know, what was I thinking?) she was quite pleasant she was not helpful and blew off my concerns. I have since gone to another doctor who took me seriously, and I am now better. There was also a big mix up between the front desk and the P.A. about getting a copy of earlier lab results and who was supposed to do that. Second, during my intake back in December they told me they have dental through Advantage Dental. I told the intake person I did need a cleaning so I would like to do that. I paid the $20 fee and an appointment was made at Advantage for a few days later. When I got there Advantage said this was an appointment for emergency dental only and that I'd have to reschedule, that this misunderstanding sometimes happens. Ok, so I rescheduled for a cleaning nearest time being June (!), but I took the appointment since there was no emergency. I get there and they say this appointment was not for a cleaning only for x-rays (!?). If you see my review of Advantage you will understand why I chose not to reschedule and asked for my $20 back. Here is where Mosaic comes back in. Advantage said they could not return the $20 and that I'd have to talk to Mosaic. On my way home I stopped by Mosaic where I was told by the woman who initially took my $20 that she talks to patients all the time and would have never have taken the $20 for a cleaning because the only thing they do is take the $20 for Advantage for emergency care only like a tooth extraction. She said Mosaic only takes the fee and gives it to Advantage and only they can refund it. Also, that it's not a refundable fee even though no emergency work was done and back in December Advantage just said I needed to reschedule for a regular cleaning in other words, no emergency work was done. The Mosaic woman and I went round and round (it really seemed as if she was essentially calling me a liar) a bit then I caught her rolling her eyes at the receptionist. I'm done with this place. The right hand doesn't know what the left is doing, everyone seems more interested in covering their backside rather than serving the customer, and at least one of the P.A. is unprofessional.

I came to this UC because pain was getting worse and ear was draining while I was visiting family in the area and I wanted someone to visually see it in case it wasn't bacterial. My first mistake was picking this establishment without reading the reviews. Staff was professional enough but rushed and appeared understaffed. The male medical assistant became oddly snarky after I revealed I work in dermatology, which was quite awkward. The NP I saw later looked at my ear for maybe five seconds and said there was no evidence of a bacterial infection and I should stop the antibiotics. They said the MD I saw virtually was likely wrong about it being bacterial since they didn't see me in-person. After peeking at my nose and noticing it was draining (I have allergies in Central Oregon) they said all my pain must be due to congestion and to do anti-congestive meds OTC. Sounds reasonable enough. I have a lot of faith in medicinal professionals, so I tried their treatment for the next 24-48 hours. Unfortunately I ended up needing to be driven to the ER a couple days later because the pain in my ear went from painful to agony and it was draining even more pus with some blood. Long story short I needed to be admitted for mastoiditis (seen on CT scan) and had to go on multiple antibiotics and steroids. ER naturally did a culture of the external ear canal too, which grew out a heavy growth of pseudomonas aeruginosa (aka bacteria). My eardrum ended up rupturing from the infection which was extremely painful and may have damaged my hearing (although I haven't seen ENT yet to confirm). Overall, I'm very disappointed with the care I received here. I'd like to assume they were doing their best and I know misdiagnoses happen to even the best of providers. But I can't help but feel that if I had seen someone less rushed, more empathetic, and better trained I would have gotten what the original provider I saw thought was an infection confirmed and received earlier treatment. Maybe then I could have avoided an expensive ER visit and weeks of pain. But who knows. The $300 out-of-pocket cost for a 5 minute visit here just rubbed salt in the wound considering their "care" actually caused me a delay in treatment and caused me great amount of pain in the end. I would avoid this establishment if at all possible.
