The work experience here was not good. For years, they have had a great deal of turnover with their staff which leads to confusion and disorganization. They were misleading when doing job interviews and, when asked, they were not forthcoming about clinic problems concerns. This disarray ultimately prevents them from providing consistent, high quality patient services. There seems to be a systemic dysfunction going on within this organization. This significantly decreases their ability to provide continuity of care for patients in their clinic. read more

We brought our son to east COPA location for the first time when we moved to Bend in 2020. The location is clean and the staff all worked to help him be comfortable during the visit. Every time I call or need something, they are very timely and knowledgeable with their responses. I am glad we found COPA! read more

COPA has been a fantastic and reassuring part of mine and my kid's lives! Whenever we take the kids there for check ups or if they're sick, the staff is always very friendly and helpful. They have great play areas. We've met with many of the doctors there are haven't met a bad one yet. They are very caring about the kids! One of the best things about COPA is the 24 hour nurse advice line. I've called in the middle of the night and they spent quite a bit of time with me on the phone trying to diagnose my child. They even had me put my phone to my child's face so they could hear the breathing and coughing. Then they will get you into the office that day if needed. Wonderful! read more

I am only leaving one star because I am not allowed to leave zero. Horrible experience. I have now had several issues with fraudulent charting and retaliation from Dr. Karnopp including in June when she delayed care for my child with e. Coli, and most recently at the south Bend location when I called nurse advice because my child was spitting out all her liquids and only eating soft foods. They told me they were concerned with a sore throat (she was already on antibiotics that would have treated it, prescribed by COPA), and refused any other option than the coronavirus clinic. I agreed to the appointment as long as they were willing to come out to my car and do everything that could be done there as to refrain from exposing us to the virus. They agreed to this with the requirement that I get in my car immediately and drive straight there. When I did they suddenly changed the situation and we were told to go inside and that they were waiting at the clinic door to bring us straight back. When this wasn't the case, I attempted to leave, and they became hostile towards me and refused to let me do so. During the exam, they became even more hostile when I expressed my concerns and even threatened my child's care, called me a problem parent while referring to my previous complaint, and referred to us as a burden. I was put in the place of being denied the right to leave, but also the threat to examine my child if I didn't comply and stop being terrified of the exposure to a deadly pandemic, as we are both high risk. The next afternoon, I was called by Dr. Clausen, I believe, and informed that I needed to find a new provider, (I had already gotten a list from the health plan) because of the false allegation that I called someone an inappropriate name. The part that bothers me is not that I was fired, but that they would not be taking my concerns seriously because of this false allegation. I am appalled that my concerns would not be taken seriously because they lied and falsely represented the situation and verbiage used. read more

So far we've had positive experiences with Dr. Karnopp and COPA. My child's well-child appointments have been comprehensive and not rushed with Dr. Karnopp. She covers everything from social/emotional well-being to nutrition, screen time, and of course physical health and development. Dr. Karnopp demonstrated specific knowledge and good suggestions for a particular health need my daughter has. For the times we've had to call on off-hours, the nurses we interacted with over the phone have been very kind, patient, knowledgeable, and helpful. The only complaint my child has is that she wishes the exam rooms had more child-friendly uplifting décor! read more

My son was scheduled for a well child check up today at the Bend East clinic with Dr. Rust. He was refused care because he has seasonal allergies that was diagnosed by Dr. Rust back in December. It is April, we live surrounded by juniper. My son has been on Zyrtech for over a month because of the same symptoms of runny nose and watery eyes. These are allergy symptoms not COVID. We do not live in Bend, so my morning was completely wasted on a 40 minute drive each way. It would have been nice to know the policy up front when I scheduled and then rescheduled this appointment in the first place. I do really like Dr. Rust as a doctor. It is unfortunate that their policies have ruined my view of COPA and Dr. Rust. I did try calling to speak with her directly and was told the same thing by her nurse. I will be finding other care for my children. read more

They were the only ones to work with our son being in the NICU for 12 days(no one would do a circumcision after 7 days). Just always a good experience read more

I have taken my 7 week old to see Dr. Ansbaugh, Dr. Angelos and Dr. Peoples. Dr. Ansbaugh was friendly enough but I will not be using her again. She could not give decent answers for any of my concerns and I left feeling more concerned. Dr. Angelos and Dr. Peoples were wonderful. They were very informative, nice and performed thorough exams. read more

I have never in my life dealt with such a rude receptionist. Who made you feel like a complete idiot and as though there was nothing they could do for you and made you feel like you were stupid for asking. One star is even too many... Be aware... After taking my 13 year old daughter to COPA for a routine visit and addressing a horrible cough she had had for 3 to 4 days, I was given a list of remedies to try at home. That night I exhausted my efforts by trying each and every remedy that was given to me plus a few others since I desperate to help my daughter. She coughed non-stop for almost 6 hours that night. She was to the point of exhaustion and tears, sore stomach and back muscles, begging me to do something more for here. I called the nurse advice line (the nurses were great!) the next morning, promptly at 8am. Trying to make a long story short here, I will end by saying it was 8pm (12 hours later!!!) before I spoke to the final doctor, Dr. LINDA STEINER who of which proceeded to tell me there was NOTHING more they COULD do or WOULD do for my daughter and that they are following COPA's "standard of care". When I became upset by this (remember, I have waited 12 hours to be told "too bad") Dr. Steiner laughed at me and told me I was uneducated and misinformed. I have NEVER heard of a so called "professional" laughing at a patient who is obviously distraught and seeking medical help. This was the most unprofessional doctor I have ever had to deal with. Even worst yet, COPA would not provide me with any medical help for my daughters debilitating cough, and told me to just use some honey. I promptly took her to urgent care (BMC) at which they took one look at her and provided her with not only one prescription medication BUT three. Thank goodness for some real medical help from BMC. My daughter (and I) got some much needed rest and are finally on the mend. Stay away from this place if you can help it! read more

I've been taking my boys to COPA for their routine check-ups since we moved to Bend over 10 years ago. I've always been pleased with the doctors' pleasant, easy-going manners and all was good. However, when my child had a health issue, that's when I was severely disappointed with COPA. I had questions for the doctor and my phone calls were not returned ( you cannot communicate directly with your doctor through e-mail or voice mail). I was left not knowing what to do or how to proceed. read more

I really enjoy coming here. The staff is very polite. I have never had to wait long at all. I come from San Diego and the Health centers down there are completely overcrowded and wait times are very unreal. That is not the case here, at least from my experience. read more

Being a military family, we have moved around a lot. My son (20 months) has seen 5 pediatricians offices since birth. COPA is by far the best one of them all. Their offices are clean and fun, the staff is always friendly and helpful, and the 24 hour nurses know their stuff. My son was seen at COPA after he was born and we moved when he was 2 weeks old. I am SO happy to be back in this area to see Dr. Svendsen again. Dr. Svendsen was so great with my son every time he has been seen and really takes his time to explain everything to you and making sure all your questions have been answered. Even when we lived in other states, I still called COPA's nurse line when my son was sick. We will continue using COPA for all of the kids in our family, I can't say enough good things about Dr. Svendsen and the COPA offices. read more

Don't bother asking for your medical professionals to complete forms for you. They won't give you the time of day, call you back, or communicate in any way with you...no matter how many times you call. You're better off kicking yourself in the head for all their help is worth. Especially Dr. Brenda Hedges. She had previously been extremely helpful during routine checkups, but can't be bothered to return a phone call after pleading a multitude of times. The only valuable asset they have is their nurse line. I would highly recommend researching alternative options. Don't waste your time with COPA. read more

Our son went for an annual physical and was reffered to a nutritionist. I was told they would be in contact to schedule. Well as time passed by I started wondering why I had not heard anything so I called to follow up and left several messages with their referrals department to find out who we referred to. After a month I finally started to get irate as I was always going to voice mail and not hearing back. I finally was told that they had the wrong number for me. Yet they were able to call and remind me of our appointment. Once I finally found out who I was referred to I called and they had never even received the order from COPA! So I had to call AGAIN to get them to send the order. They said they were sending it right then, but in the 10 minutes that I was still trying to schedule they had STILL NOT received it. This has been a frustratingly horrible experience. We had started at BMC and were appalled at their high prices, but I guess you get what you pay for. This is ridiculous and to top it off we finally met our deductible for our health insurance this year. We will be lucky to get in before the end of the year at this rate and that is all due to the mishandling of our referral by COPA. WE WILL NOT BE BACK! read more

I have always found COPA to be a great resource for my family. I have called the nurse advice line a whole lot of times and it's saved a lot of anxiety and at least one late-night emergency room visit. While we can't always get in to see our favorite physician (Dr. Clausen!), we've also always been impressed by the docs who we have seen and we've seen a lot for everything from weird rashes to mysterious coughs to UTIs... Their schedulers and front desk people are consistently friendly and patient with lots of questions. Trust me, I've been that mom with all the questions. read more

Horrible experience here! I have been taking my two boys here the last two years and every time was a bad experience with the nurses. This last time was the last straw with me. My son was getting his vaccination and of course he was crying, the nurses held him down and stab him in the leg like someone would do with a knife if they were trying to kill someone. I know this sounds like I am exaggerating but I am not. Another thing is they do not salt their walkways. last winter I was carrying my sick one year old and slipped on their walkway and he hit his head and I bruised my hip. I complained and they said they dont salt so they do not ruin their walkway. After the multiple bad experiences I've decided to go elsewhere.I would never recommend my family to go here! read more
