Just went in for a visit today, first time and so disappointed. I was excited to explore and look for some cool finds. Sadly it was ruined by one of the workers. As my boyfriend and I were browsing through their selection we decided to stop to take a picture at a mirror near one of their sections. I don't know if the employee knew how loud she was but we clearly heard her comment, "Every time people pass by that mirror they stop to take a picture. It's stupid. It's dumb." It dampened our moods completely. We didn't get to even finish looking at the front of the store. We put the item we had in our hand back in their place and left. Really saddened about the experience and the fact that we couldn't enjoy the rest of the store as we could see they had lots of variety and the prices seemed reasonable from what we did see. Here are some of the pictures we managed to take before leaving. Update: upon further review a lot of recent reviews seem to be about the same women with the same common factor. She only provides terrible atmosphere and service to people of color. Which is very disappointing to see that so many customers come excited to come and explore to only leave feeling worse due to something we can't change. Especially in this climate and day of age, it's saddening to see such hate being spread. read more

I had a good experience here. Everything was nicely organized and not overpriced. I found a few gems and it was not crowded, I got to take my time and browse. The employees were very kind, I even broke an item on accident (I really wanted this glass jar too) they were concerned if I was hurt. I would definitely revisit when passing through again. read more

Very smelly and hot. Soon as i walked in it reeked of cat pee, i walked around and the smell got worse aswell as the heat. Items overpriced while being stained. When i asked the lady with ginger hair if an item had been discontinued however i was met with terrible attitude. If you want good customer service,decent clothes with fair prices, and a store that doesn't smell like animal feces make sure to go somewhere else downtown! Updates: hope you find the dead pigeon! Maybe if you kept your store clean that wouldn't happen, also if you guys had manners i bet alot more business would come through! This place is cool ! It's got all the fun stuff , figurines , records , video games antiques and many more stuff . The bad part about this store is that each area belongs to different sellers . So we wanted to purchase a Vynl record and no one knew the price or the seller . Bummed . But I did manage to grab some figurines . Some stuff is over priced and some stuff is ok . I had a nice time until I noticed they overcharged me :( I drove 2 hours to visit antique stores here. This store was beautiful, and a vendor upstairs said to tell the cashier I could have a 10% discount on the VHS I chose. Well, how nice, but instead of getting a discount they overcharged me by $10 for a tape marked $2. I would never pay $12 for Never Ending Story part 2. I didn't notice until I got home. The seller obviously puts two lines through the dollar signs in his own handwriting, but the cashier chose to read this price as freaking $12 instead of $2. I don't appreciate that shyt and would hope they could learn to make a better system for writing and reading price tags. read more

I love this store because there's so many things to look at. There's something for (almost) everyone. The woman up front was very kind and helpful. She helped me grab a petticoat from the wall and showed me to their little dressing room even though it was close to closing! Most places would be annoyed but she was extremely patient and sweet with me. While I was shopping around there were some loud people messing around and it sounded like they dropped something. If you go into an antique store, please be respectful and mindful that you're surrounded by old and valuable items, most importantly, items that don't belong to you. This may be where some people are getting a "rude attitude" because I'm Mexican, and didn't sense any of the racism or rudeness that people talk about in these reviews. I also try to be very respectful when entering a store of any kind. Expect the same treatment and attitude that you give out. read more

I came to this store earlier today and honestly I have never been treated so badly in a store. There were plenty of nice things. It really would have been nice if it weren't for the fact that one of the workers (I am unsure if she owned the place of not) was being very rude to me and on multiple occasions refused to sell things to me even though they were advertised and on display. She questioned me on many of the things I was looking at and touching like I was going to run away with it. I would have assumed it was normal but she was being very nice to other people but for some reason not to me. I don't think I'll ever come back because of the way I was treated. What an awesome find. We were just enjoying downtown Bakersfield, eating and having a few drinks when we stumbled across this gem! What a fun store to shop and reminisce! Very clean and organized and filled with so much fun stuff to look at! We must have spent 2 hours there! Staff is vet friendly and helpful which isn't always the case at a lot of antique stores! Absolutely terrible. A racist old worker, which seems to have about a year of her life left, spent her time following people of color around the store. With white folks she was so sweet and didn't care what they did, but then the moment a colored person was around she seemed to be clutching her pearls on the verge of a stroke because they were looking at things to buy. She refused to sell things to people based on their skin color, telling them the things weren't on sale even though they were, and waddled her way behind people while pretending to stock the shelves so she could hide the fact that she was really making sure they didn't steal anything just because they were people of color. Horrible service, don't buy from this store and their cheap selection. read more

Beautiful store, but not worth buying a thing here. My husband he asked if he could use the restroom the old lady in the front desk was extremely rude. She could have just said no, but she said people Sh*t all over her bathrooms and therefore she'll be rude to who ever asks to use it. We got the heck out of there fast with that customer service, no thank you! We love antique shopping so we went down the street to Mill Creek Antique Mall. The store is just as beautiful and the customer service is excellent. We bought some great treasures from them! read more

Very bad service. I asked a question to a white old lady and she was very mean about it. She also followed me around the store and didn't stop until I left which weirded me out. I don't recommend coming here and there are better shops around for way cheaper prices. Go to those instead. read more

Nice and organized antique mall. This location has a large selection of items, anything from action figures, books, Pokémon cards, decor and clothes. Very little furniture. Each vendor was nicely organized with purposeful items. Staff was friendly and attentive. Dress warm in winter and cool in summer (general antique shopping practice)! read more

This store has so many interesting things. The bottom floor features MCM to French Country and everything in between . The back of the store has a large book section with many very unique vintage and antique titles. Upstairs you'll find vintage video games, clothing and a really well curated selection of gamer collectibles. The staff here are polite, positive and always helpful. I've been enjoying this store for years and always leave with a treasure or two. read more

I've been in there several times and it's miserably hot in the summer as they do NOT run their air conditioning and its freezing in the winter. (They don't run their heater) They need to make the store more comfortable for shoppers. They are not friendly unless you buy something. I always seem to find something here, whether I needed it or not. There are always spaces with great sales going on, so I never feel the need to negotiate prices as I feel the sale prices are reasonable for what I buy. place is clean and the ladies at the front desk are always friendly. read more

Find a childhood memory, a perfect gift, a unique piece for your home, something traditional or chic or wild. You'll find toys, books, jewelry, home decor, furniture, clothes, china, crystal, artwork... I could go on and on and on. Central Park is run by a wonderful group of ladies. They are always willing to help when and where they can. They keep a clean store, always neat and welcoming. Also, and this is great on a hot day, they sell canned sodas and bottled water at the front counter. Their vendors, some terrific men and women, are just as fabulous. Many vendors also hold sales, making these already great deals even better. Some negotiating can happen, but not always. It's a great experience visiting/shopping at Central Park Antiques Mall. I make sure to stop there every time I'm in the area to see what's come in. I never leave empty-handed. This place will not disappoint! read more

This is a great mall. I don't know where the other lady got the idea that they don't negotiate. Most dealers seem to be willing. The quality of the shop is tops, as is the variety of items. One booth has great 40's and 50's vintage clothing and jewelry. another had everything from a Heywood Wakefield dining set, to art glass, to primatives, to you name it. Another booth had American Indian items. They seem to have folks who specialize--showcases with Bauer, militaria, Victorianna, etc.--as well as folks who have a little bit of everything. I highly recommend it to folks who are into real antiques. read more
