Ive been inside this place 2 times and in 3 visits (closed 1 time) I cant justify giving them any of my business, plenty of unorganized selection, overpriced items and unfriendly, I feel out every hobby shop 2-3 times before writing any review on them , I've been basically feeling them out before spending money here, Same guy every visit, either he doesn't want my business or he's just always grumpy. He's close to the house, so ill try again in 6 months. The day I showed up and he was closed may have been the day he was in a better mood.. Doubt it, lol but.... man at the counter was really nice. I used to come to their place a lot when I was younger. I started coming back again since their new location is a 10 min walk from my house. So many awesome things such as manga, comic books, anime statues, autographed comics, and more. I really enjoy this place. The pricing is fair. I also noticed that the anime statues are kinda overpriced when I looked them up online but it's fine. I highly recommend this place! read more

I used to collect comic books back in my single days when I had no mortgage or other bills to take care of. They were always fun to read and I looked forward to going by the comic book shop every week to purchase my favorite titles. I'm a fan of comic books and since I've gotten older, I find myself not having enough time to fit comics into my life; however, I'm glad to have played a part in my oldest son's interest in comics. My son loves to collect comic books and is a big fan of Marvel. He likes DC too and other comics, but his favorite is Marvel. This store is located right by Hi Sushi and I've visited this place quite a few times. It was by chance one day that we stopped by and saw a sign that they were going to have a Funko POP event and we definitely had to make our way there since I have a big collection and so does my son. It was pretty neat that they do this as there were a lot of little booths and big booths of people trading and selling the Funko Pops they had. They have tons of cool things at this comic book place as they don't only sell comic books. They sell tons of collectibles, clothes, and so much accessories. They carry tons of brands from Marvel, DC and so many different Japanese animations. The store is fairly new. The staff looks like a family business. They have been really friendly every time we have visited here. Parking can be a little bit of a hassle on their busy days, but you can usually find a parking if there's no events going on. read more

Had some time to visit family at Bakersfield and decided to take the nephew to a local collectible shop. This store had a nice selection of comics and anime goods. Since we rarely come to Bakersfield decided to get something for the nephews. Kenny was the cashier and was a nice guy he is a retired sheriff of 27 years. He said his old partner is the owner who is also a sheriff. Nice shop ran by retired sheriffs who are still smiling. Great local shop to support especially since it's one of the few available here in Bakersfield. Great service and selection will come back when I'm in town again. read more

This is a pretty cool comic shop in Bakersfield offering a huge selection of back issues as well as a ton of new releases. They also have the usual swag and toys one would expect from a comic shop of this size. I am not in Bakersfield very often at all, but when passing through I would stop in again. read more

I haven't posted a review in a couple years so here I am with another one- I visit very frequently. Probably 2+ times a week. They are my main distributor to get products from and I preorder upcoming booster boxes, expansions, sets, etc from them on a regular basis. Although I'm not a comics person myself, they offer the option of pre ordering comics you may want even if they don't have them and will keep them set aside for you for when you come by. They also offer snack cards that are great when you don't carry cash and play games in the card tournaments like I do. Store is owned by a family of 3 so it's really nice to know the owners and help out with stuff when I can. Anyways- love the store, it's basically my second home and my main connect for nerdy stuff! read more

Never really was a comic store and collectables type of person but we decided to stop in because we were in the video store next to it and my husband wanted to check it out. Upon entering we noticed a lot of disheveled looking shelves but the lady told us that they were doing some store revamping. This was a comic book, action figure lovers haven. From loads of comics to all sorts of figures and jewelry to coffee mugs. I didn't know that action figures had so much memorabilia. Who knew? Shelves were a little dusty but they were organized by character. My husband decided on some small metal transformer puzzle type figurines for him to put together with the grandsons. Oh my will they be excited. Not sure if I'd bring them here but it was fun for the husband to browse around. read more

VERY disappointed to return to SWCC after months away and find the shop owner servicing customers without face coverings and allowing 6-8 unmasked customers casually moving about the shop w/o social distancing among themselves or respecting distancing guidelines for other customers. Love the shop and owners but not sure when I'll be be back with that type of operation. read more

Silver Wolf Comics, as far as I'm concerned, is the best Comic Store in The Central Valley. They have a huge collection from Comics to Figures to Special Events and everything in between. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable and will do all they can to help you find whatever you're looking for. They have an area in the back where groups of people can play their favorite roll playing card games. Plus they have a very large selection of demo games allowing customers to play games before buying them. Now that just cool. There's even a couch and TV for those not a huge Comic Store fan but is there with a friend or family member that is. It's like the Man Chair in a lady's dress shop. Lol. So overall I have given them a 5 star rating only because they won't let me do a 10 Star Review. And I love their new location. A bigger store and a larger inventory equals a better experience. Comics, Collectable toys, swords oh my!!! I was searching for a store that had new issue comics and this is the place. The owners are nice and cheerful, constantly asking if I needed any assistance in navigating their beautiful store. The comic wall is well organized. The toys are not over priced and they had a wide variety of selection. They also featured many choice foam and metal swords that made me wish my kids had been with me (altho that would have cost me so much more in the end). While for me this was a one time visit while I was in the area, this could easily have become my newest store as they were definitely willing to make sure they met all my needs while I was there. If you are looking for a reasonably priced store for all your geeky needs and are in the are make sure to take a trip to Silver Moon. You will be glad you did. I know I was. read more

Saw this place on Facebook and decided to stop in last night. First of all the staff was great. They were very friendly and informative. Great customer service. Prices were reasonable. Second, they did have some nice items, but the selection was limited. I will give them that since they are a new business and I am sure the selection will increase over time. I visited the store after they first opened and returned again almost a year later, and this store has come a long ways in that time. First and foremost the owners are very friendly and accommodating. They encourage casual browsing and are not intrusive as you tour their store. Very inviting atmosphere. I asked if I could did through their two dozen long boxes stashed under some tables and they said 'go at it!' For a dedicated comic nerd, that is like getting the keys to the kingdom! Free access! I was sold! Their store inventory is pretty diverse. They have new issues every Wednesday and discounts for having pull list, as with every store. They sells lots of gaming, toys, statues, a very impressive selection of Star Wars toys. They showcase and sell local artwork. The comic book back stock is a bit disorganized, but they are very reasonable and fair with the pricing. You won't find anything you will buy and retire on buried in their long boxes, but I was able to dig out a few gems that was priced below book value and bought. I've been back five times. I'm going to save the rest of my traditional nerdy nitpicking because this store has a lot of promise. I'll continue to visit when ever I get that itch to dig through a long box. I really liked this store, a lot. I have been searching for a toy store in town that sells Star Wars stuff and this place had great reviews. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the sweetest guy at the counter! He was very informative and very friendly. The store has a ton of different toys, ranging from Star Wars, to Pokemon, Mario, My Little Pony...They literally have everything! The prices were average, not too high for me at all. I am not into comics, but it did seem like they had a great comic book collection as well. I would have to rate this as one of the best toy stores in town. I will definitely be back soon! read more

A barely decent comic book store but really expensive. I bought a book here then found it $10 cheeper on amazon. There wasn't that many comics either, I could barely find any D.C. books. Nice store with cool stuff, but I will not be returning. The staff was extremely unpleasant. They didn't welcome us when we came in the store and gave us a cold shoulder as we browsed. My boyfriend and I came looking for some comic books, and he asked one of the staff there where something was. The staff member barely looked up from what he was doing and pointed to the other end of the store with a vague 'its somewhere over there'. Very informative. Maybe we just caught them on an off day, but I think I'll just stick to Dark Side Comics from now on. read more
