TLDR: If you need an HSG ASAP and are cool with a provider performing an invasive gynecological procedure out of his aesthetics practice, then this place might be your jam. At the very least, my experience was instructive. I learned that there is a huge unmet need for woman-centered care of this nature in NYC. For example, it would have been helpful to know when you schedule that you can't bring a companion in with you. It may be standard for all practices, and there is a chaperone. But if I'd known this, I might have sought a female provider or one who could accommodate this need. While a squeeze ball is appreciated, a modesty drape would be even better. The gowns don't cover much if you're over 5'7, and the nature of the ordeal is more invasive and undignified than an annual OB/GYN exam. Finally, when you're done, please provide some basic aftercare instructions and put some pads and wipes in the dressing room. Don't make women ask for things that should be the default. I understand the need to make room for the next lucky contestant, but not at the expense of patient experience. read more

I had a great experience with Dr. S and his office's staff. I was an out of town patient. If I may say, my entire process from start to finish went smoothly. Literally, everything! I had the FTR procedure done and to my surprise it was less painful than the HSG. Dr. S was very professional and attentive. He even completed a follow up which was done by him personally. Women who are sensitive or going through complex fertility treatments- avoid! Go with a larger, more professional radiology clinic or better yet, AN OBGYN and not a radiologist (Dr. Silberzweig). I spent a total of 90 minutes on his table, legs splayed, (he made two attempts) and left with a "failed" HSG test -- he was unable to locate the cervical opening, which he said had only happened one other time. Keep in mind he is not an OBGYN. He's a radiologist who has decided to specialize in this test. They played 80s rock music in the background and he rhythmically worked while I told him I was confused as to what was going on, and my anxiety was only worsening. Later, I confirmed that another patient had experienced the strange rock music too. I had to ask multiple times why the exam was taking so long and the answers were that he could not see the entrance to my cervix. His bedside manner was really really odd to me in that I needed to advocate for myself so much. I was so overwhelmed I started researching this Dr. while sitting on the table, only to learn that his office also offers injectables and laser. One patient complained of a laser burning her. Come again...? So he probes women's anatomy much of the time with his HSG business and also does cosmetic procedures? So, I left confused and in tears. While the office refunded me for the procedure itself (not the pain med), it was a bizarre experience. Don't go here because it's faster to get in. Only come here if you have an emergency and you're ok with strange bedside manner. I just went back to my OBGYN who had no issue locating my cervical opening in 30 seconds. I will be going to East River Medical moving forward. While Dr. Silberzweig was apologetic, the music was creepy, his communication skills were insufficient and the refund for the procedure itself was not worth the stress and confusion I endured. read more

I would not recommend this place or doctor for an HSG. Yes, they have a bunch of openings and can get you in fast but I had an awful experience. The receptionist got all my info wrong (including my name and appointment time) and the doctor had a terrible bedside manner. He was cold and rude despite me being visibly anxious. My husband (who is a physician) spoke with him before the procedure and told him about my anxiety with the procedure due to past experiences and he could care less. I have been seeing this doctor for about a year now for my tattoo removal. The doctor warned me ahead of time that since the tattoo was very dark, thick and new it would take around 10-12 sessions. I just finished my 9th session and there are only a few specs of ink left! I like to book my appointments first thing in the AM. If I schedule an 8AM appointment, I am out the door within 15 minutes. They are very fast and efficient. The doctor is also very thorough and answers all of my questions. Everything was A - okay until my recent appointment. Usually for the bikini line and legs, an assistant comes in to do the laser for you instead of the doctor. Which I didn't find bothersome since, everything went well as when the doctor would do the procedure. However, this time around (I'm assuming the girl was new)- since she had no idea wtf she was doing and another assistant was there explaining to her step by step. She basically burned my bikini line. I would think that it makes sense to actually use a lower setting than the usual for bikini lines since the skin is much more delicate and thinner. Not sure what it was but it stung more than it usually would. First, I thought I was over-reacting but after leaving the office my line started feeling the burn as I walked. Honestly, if the assistant has no experience and (pretty sure they aren't certified) shouldn't be performing the procedure without the doctor assisting. Esp. when the assistant is not properly trained. Def was my last appt. Update* I have this ugly burn on my inner thigh now.. after the week of the appt. This place is too good to be true! Amazing prices for top of the line quality. I got an AMAZING laser hair removal deal via Groupon so I was definitely a bit sketched out at first. But I figured hey, if worse comes to worst Groupon has a great refund policy so it's worth a shot. Well, I'm so glad I came! Dr. Silberzweig and his staff are awesome! The girls are friendly and knowledgeable (and totally gorgeous), and the Doc himself is also very personable and transparent. The space itself is immaculate (surgical, really, just the way i like it) and convenient (right next to the subway). For my first visit, I received a gown in a sealed bag to change into, brand new disposable shoe covers, and a brand new disposable razor (as I totally forgot to shave before going). There are makeup remover towelettes to take off your makeup (if you're getting your face done), and lots of baby wipes and paper towels to clean the gel off after the session. Dr. Silberzweig uses a state of the art Cutera machine and can accommodate people of all skin colors now (contrary to a previous review). He personally executes every single session and is very attentive (often asking to make sure I was ok and that there is no pain). I've had about three sessions now and am starting to see some results already. The doctor said normally it takes five sessions to see tangible results, so I'm excited for that time to come! They also offer a slew of other procedures like body contouring (i'm DEFINITELY getting that one) and dermal fillers (gotta take my mom!). The 1 year hair removal deal was too good to be true. I had purchased 8sessions for my underarms and Brazilian area. Throughout the sessions it seemed as if it was working in some parts, but, not all. I still did not see results that I should have had by the 6th time. When I expressed my concern upon the 6th session, the technician just plainly said I had 2 more sessions to go and that I would see results by then..I didn't. 4 weeks after I was done with all 8 of my sessions, hair started to grow back in both areas. And it wasn't even in partial areas, but FULLY grow back with no sign of laser hair removal being done at all. I got laser hair treatment for one year and the results are in! I have sparse hair remaining in my underarms and legs but nothing like it was before. I can go without shaving for weeks now instead of daily like before. The office is nice and clean. Wait time is minimal, a few minutes. They do offer evening hours. I had an appointment for 10:45 this am for a Fallopian tube dye procedure. I came 45 minutes early because I needed to be somewhere at 12. I am still sitting in the lobby at 11:45, I was told I was next and then they took someone else back. So maybe they do a great job, but appointments should serve a purpose. Another poster commented that this office seemed "too good to be true" and that's because it is. I've gone to 8 months of laser hair removal sessions and haven't seen any difference, which I attribute to Dr. Silberzweig not being well-trained in providing laser hair removal and the machine's overuse. I've had successful laser hair removals performed at other providers and, as a reference point, at another office each underarm hair removal session would take 20 minutes with the technician going over each row of follicles and adjusting the strength of the laser midsession for sensitive areas. At Cosmetic and Vascular Suite, Dr. Silberzweig spends less than 10 minutes to laser both of my legs. I watched him closely in my last session and the strength of the laser remained consistent throughout the procedure. The office overbooks his appointments so you will typically wait 30-45 minutes after your scheduled appointment time to have your session performed. Finally the machines, while cutting-edge, are overworked and occasionally turn themselves off midsession to prevent overheating. In sum, this place is too good to be true. If you are looking for a laser hair removal spot in NYC, I'd suggest Erase Spa in Chelsea instead. read more

I've been going to Dr. Silberzweig for both laser hair removal and tattoo removal for almost a year now, and am extremely pleased with how both are progressing. I bought a year's worth of laser hair removal on groupon for $89, and even though I still have a few sessions left, the hair growth on my bikini line is basically non-existent at this point. The office is impeccably clean, the staff are all friendly and professional, and the doctor has always been kind, informative, and thorough. When I learned that he offers a package of six tattoo removal sessions for the insanely reasonable price of $329 (prices vary based on size of tattoo), I didn't hesitate to jump on that as well. I've done my six sessions and probably need another five or six, but I knew going into it that I'd need more than the initial six, because my tattoo was completely dense/filled with dark ink. So I'm going to go ahead and buy another package of six to make sure it gets completely gone! Plus, the way the price breaks down, it makes sense to do another package of six. Dr. Silberzweig was very up front with me from the beginning that he'd need to see how the tattoo removal progressed after a few sessions before being able to accurately assess how many sessions it would take overall. We've talked about the progress made each time I've gone, and he's always ready to answer any questions I have. For both the hair removal and tattoo removal, he's very clear and thorough about aftercare and how to prepare for upcoming appointments (make sure you shave right before heading in for laser hair removal!) I really couldn't be more pleased with the experiences I've had here so far, and plan to have more services done here in the future. The staff confirmed my appointment and copayment with me prior to my arrival. The office is modern and clean. Dr. Silberzweig started the appointment on time, introduced himself, and explained the procedure and risks to me in his office. He then directed me to a dressing room to change into a gown and paper booties. When I went in for my procedure the nurse locked the dressing room to keep my personal belongings safe. Dr. Silberzweig explained things as he was doing them and had a great bedside manner. By the time I was dressed he had a printout of my test results for me and had also emailed a copy to my referring doctor. I went to Dr. Silberzweig for my second HSG, followed directions exactly, and he found everything was clear/normal. It was painful at the time and afterwards, but 10 days later as I'm about to ovulate I have more pain. All of this is unexpected, and I wasn't told who to call or when if I had any problems. The first HSG that I had was with 3 years ago with an inexperienced radiology resident. He had done only 20 HSGs ever, and it was uncomfortable at the time, but not afterwards. He says he does 10 HSGs per day, but he has literally a dozen advertisements some kind of fat-removal laser thing in the waiting room, including a looped video advertisement, and more ads in the bathroom and more on the opposite wall. read more

The first time his staff gave me aftercare kit like small gauze, adhesive cloth tape and even vaseline. It was impressive service after all. I got my tattoo removal done 3 times on my foot, not all faded away yet, but I am satisfied with the result so far. So after the Doc informed me that they have the laser machine for African American skin... I decided to go and get lasered. Yesterday marked my third visit. The process usually takes 8-9 minutes. This guy has no idea what he's doing. For some reason he lasered my chin all the way up to the edge of my bottom lip. It was excruciating this time around. He'd made the laser stronger than the last time around and it felt like burning hot lava. A few hours later I noticed a dark circle under my lip that hadn't been there before and another on the other side of my chin. They were in spots that were the most painful from the lasering. They became dry patches and now I have four burns on my face (one under my chin). On my fkn face people. I called to cancel my next appointment stating why and the Doc left me a message to call him. My face is already fkd up. I'm hoping it heals well with no marks but at this point who's to say. I cried when I had to cover it up with makeup bc I had to go to an event last night and refused to look like Who Did It And Ran? Stay as far away from this place as possible. read more

Do not go here for laser hair removal unless you want to risk getting burned and possibly scared for life. I purchased a package of six laser sessions for my legs. Everything was fine until my last appointment. Previously the doctor performed the service. But now he has untrained inexperienced young women performing the laser hair removal and I was very badly burned during my last visit. My legs look as if they were run over by a mini tractor. I have quarter inch red dots all over my legs. My legs look far worse than if I was sick with chicken pox or measles and it is summer and I can't wear shorts or dresses. Stay away! read more

I recently went to this place for my first consult and session for a tattoo removal a few days ago. I purchaed a groupon for three sessions. The office was very nice, neat and clean. The Staff and doctors were very professional, courteous and informative. The doctor even emailed me prior to purchasing my Groupon to confirm my tattoo fit within the parameters offered and to confirm what kinds of treatments I would need. His email responses were always very prompt. I was seen on time and done pretty quickly. Staff could tell I was a little neverous and we're very encouraging and supportive. Like I stated before I purchased a groupon for a few sessions I was sure there were going to be after care need fees. But nope the nurse made me an after care kit with everything I needed and the doctor was very patient when I asked him to repeat after vare instructions repeatedly. He explained all the machines to me what they did and how and what would change moving forward during future sessions. The doctor was also very honest and realistic about how many sessions I would actually need and what results to expect after each session. I really enjoyed my experience and no one made me feel any different because I had a groupon. Great place I would definitely recommend it.
