When I learned that I would need 2 dental implants to replace 2 baby teeth that had never fallen out, I was terrified. The prospect of undergoing 2 lengthy months-long procedures, which would change how I looked and what I could eat, was scary--not to mention expensive. But Dr. Mark immediately put me at ease, taking the time to explain to me exactly why I needed the implants, how the placements would work, and what the healing process would be like. He called the process minimally invasive, and in his hands, it really was. The whole extraction+implant placement took 20 minutes, and it felt completely painless. Dr. Mark is an excellent, technically skilled dentist, but he's also a real mensch, and I feel grateful that I picked him. He's also the only dentist who didn't tell me I needed to fix my pointy canine teeth for cosmetic reasons, and told me that was something I should decide for myself. I barely even bled after the procedure, and the recovery time was super quick -- incredibly different from when I got my wisdom teeth removed with a different dentist and was writhing in pain for hours. After two failed implants with a different oral surgeon, I decided to try for a third and last time. The first two times I got an implant were so painful and difficult. I came to Dr. Mark terrified after the experience with the other surgeon. Dr. Mark was very reassuring. His bedside manner is outstanding. He was patient with me and knew exactly how to ease my mind. Had all 4 wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. Andrei Mark and his team. Pros: - 5 stars to Dr. Mark and his immediate staff for terrific and warm bedside manner, friendliness, and efficiency of the extractions. His team is so easy and fun to chat with and quickly put me at ease before the procedure. Immediately after surgery, 3 of 4 sockets have no pain whatsoever and my cheeks were hardly inflamed. My lower right tooth was more difficult, so flesh had to be sliced open and tooth broken into pieces to be extracted. - I like that this practice informs you exactly how much you owe before any major operation to make sure all parties are on the same page on billing Cons (Took 2 stars off for following): - Poor wait time: expect to wait 30-40+ minutes - Didn't have the best followup experience. Everyone seemed rushed and hurried. Dr. Mark's assistant wasn't being careful when she used a Monoject Syringe to flush out accumulated food from my wisdom tooth socket, and jabbed my exposed raw nerve with the thin syringe point. The pain was so indescribable and unbearable that I started bawling and Dr. Mark had to apply topical anesthetic and numbing ointment. The assistant never acknowledged or apologized for her mistake and kept saying the pain was from the exposure of the raw nerves after departure of food. Tip: - After the surgery you will need to pick up antibiotics and painkillers from your preferred pharmacy, so make sure to tell them just choose one close to home or Central Park Oral Surgery. My preferred pharmacy was between work/home and very far downtown, so it was a huge pain to have to make that extra stop - Be very careful when taking Hydrocodone. After 3 doses, I became so nauseous and puked incessantly for the rest of the day. - The open sockets/holes took ~1.5 months to fully heal and close up. Even after 2 weeks I was still experiencing discomfort. Found that self-flushing after big meals with the syringe they gave me after followup helped a lot. read more

I recently had three wisdom teeth extracted and it couldn't have gone better. I'm 40 years old and was worried about losing time at work. Dr. Mark did a 3D scan of my mouth in preparation for the surgery. His team and staff are SO polite, professional, and kind. Dr. Mark was very gentle with the Novocain, gain me some antibiotics and ibuprofen. I was worried that I would have been highly drugged up but there was no need. Once the Novocain set he and his team started work and were done in less than an hour. I checked out went home, picked up my prescriptions on the way, and iced my jaw per his recommendations. For the rest of the day I continued the ice and followed the recommendations his team gave me. There was some minor swelling but no real pain. I did have trouble talking and opening my mouth due to the swelling. I had the surgery on Friday and was back to work on Monday. I recovered quickly and I feel that was all due to Dr Mark, his team and their professionalism and experience. First of all, Dr. Mark is great. Very patient and offers resolutions. The two star is given to Dr. Mizrahi and other staff. I went in today for mouth sore. Dr. Mizrahi looked at my sore and said she couldn't do much but referring me to another specialist. I said it's very painful so she put some cream on my sore that's supposed to make it less sensitive. She didn't explain much nor ask any questions. I had to tell her about my medication history myself. And the cream she put on me was extremely painful and my whole face was swollen. I felt dizzy afterwards and the sore was even more painful. I called back saying that I was in extreme pain while the front desk people were indifferent and cold. I had to go all the back to the office because the doctor wanted to see me. And she just gave me an allergy pill without warning me about the side effects. Then I asked for all the documents I have signed, which made the doctor nervous and finally she called Dr.Mark over to give a second opinion. This could have been the first thing she did: if she couldn't give me any advice and had no idea what to do, then ask for a second opinion instead of trying so hard to dismiss me asap. I put one start because I have to do it in order to post the review. Last year, I had all my wisdom teeth removed at this practice, my first appointment when well, they took radiograph, and set up a day for the removal or my teeth. On the day of the removal, I suspect something was not okay; however, this was my second day at the practice, I did not want to be judgmental. When I was seated on the dental chair, the Dental Assistant was kind to me, I'm a very nervous person (I was very pale, and my whole body was shaking), which ask if I was going to be sedated in one way or the other, and the Doctor said, oh no just local anesthesia, but not I did not even get inhalation sedation (nitrous oxide), I can describe the pain that I felt; all my third molars (wisdom teeth) were extracted at once, I was in agony, crying like I never did before in my life, and the only thing this " Dentist" said was "don't be a baby." The team assisting him was looking at me like a poor girl, there was one assistant next to me on each side, and they were kind enough to hold my hand, which I felt terrible because I knew I was holding their hands so hard. But I was feeling worse because of all the pain. I honestly was disgusted by the response of the " Dentist," as a person working in the healthcare field, one of the essential things is being empathetic towards your patients. He was rushing to leave the city for the weekend; the day of my procedure was a Friday morning. I guess that was way more important for him than a patient's wellbeing. I've visited this oral surgeon earlier in the year. At that time the office was helpful and accommodating. After my interaction this morning - I cannot recommend this office any longer. I called at 9:35 and was immediately placed on hold for five full minutes. When the woman came back on the phone she was belligerent, rude and unable (unwilling) to answer the simplest questions. On my third attempt to ask her how services are covered I finally just gave up trying to talk to her. She has no business answering phones. So , did I get lucky on that day I was there and they helped me ? And just unlucky this morning? I had wisdom tooth pain for a couple of weeks, the pain did lessen however, an issue was still present. I went to an oral surgeon in Queens who insisted I get a 3D scan through a mobile service...in a van for $180. Big red flag for me, so I decided to get a second opinion- thank God I did! This place is super friendly and personable. The front desk staff was genuinely very nice and knowledgeable, no gimmicks or anything. I feel like they actually liked their jobs which is hard to come by in this field, at least from my experience. The assistants were also super helpful and didn't get any bad energy from anyone! Just like the front desk staff, they seemed to love what they do as well. I received care from Dr.Laor, she was so professional, calming, and very personable with me. She suggested what additional wisdom tooth needed to be extracted as a preventative measure, which made sense in the long run. She was extremely patient and again, very calming! Her and the assistant kept telling me how great of a job I'm doing and kept me updated when they were close to finishing, highly appreciate that! I stuck with local anesthesia, I know a lot of people are scared to do local... trust me, so was I. I was shaking prior and tearing because I assumed I'd feel the sensation of getting a tooth pulled. I felt NOTHING!!! I was completely numb, honestly wouldn't of known my tooth was extracted if she didn't tell me. I was completely blown away by the lack of pain and how quick it was. I went to this office to get two horribly painful wisdom teeth out on Friday 1/16. Andrei Mark was great. He got them out in less than 5 minutes, however, I did wait in the room in pain for about 30min to an hour before the surgery actually happened. I had a bottle of antibiotics that was going to last me a few more days. This prescription came from my dentist for the infected tooth. Dr. Mark was aware of this, and he wrote me another prescription which I was to refill if I needed to do so once my first bottle ran out. I am at my office and am unable to leave the office until 6pm when I have to run to another meeting. I have no free time to wait for an hour at CVS pharmacy to refill my prescription so I called Dr. Mark's office this morning to see if they could please just call in my prescription for the antibiotics for me. I spoke with a friendly woman who took down the CVS location info and phone number for the CVS closest to me, and she said she'd call it in. Fast forward to 2:30pm and I haven't heard from CVS. I call Dr. Mark's office and have to re-explain my whole scenario and the person on the other line repeatedly asked me why I just didn't fill it up on Friday when I had the surgery. I think it is normal procedure for administration to check my insurance while I am waiting and notify me if they do not accept my insurance. They did not do this, and when I came out of my 5 minute consultation, found I owed $150 dollars. This was a surprise to me, since my insurance provider was listed on their website as accepted insurance plans. Dr. Mark wanted me to get my wisdom teeth extracted during the consultation, but I really dodged a bullet. I came here to get a second opinion after my first oral surgeon quoted me $2100 out of pocket to get my wisdom teeth removed, after insurance (I have Cigna HMO). He also told me I might have a cyst which could be cancer. I work in a field where I've learned about the sometimes shady practices that physicians use to bill their patients and was skeptical, so I came to Central Park oral surgery to get a second opinion. It seemed ridiculous that I'm 23, non smoker and non drug user, and my other oral surgeon is telling me I have cancer in my mouth. I saw Andrew Zeidman who came off as very honest and not trying to sell me anything, which I appreciated. He even gave me his cell and said to text him should any issues arise. Dr. Zeidman recommended I only remove two teeth since the others were fine, and reassured me I do not have cancer. The procedure took 7 minutes and I took one dose of drugs after the anesthesia wore off. There's some swelling 3 days later but everything seems fine. It wasn't too painful and my one week follow up went well. I'd highly recommend Dr Zeidman - he's honest and ethical. I would definitely come back if I needed the other two teeth taken out. The entire procedure for the two teeth cost me out of pocket $140-- way less than the $2100 the other oral surgeon quoted me! read more

Okay I was referred here some time ago but saw the bad ratings and skipped this place; so now 3 months later I am at the point where I couldn't wait any longer and I am soooo upset I didn't come here as first recommended. THE ENTIRE STAFF (except the receptionist) were the BEST!!!! The tech who took my xrays down to the assistant all the way to Dr. Mark himself gave me the best service I have ever experienced. Dr. Mark and his team were all so patient and attentive to me and did a great job at calming me down..Believe me, It took a lot. I was crying and shaking and he hadn't even started yet. The process was unpleasant but that was to be expected but he was quick and he did whatever he could to make sure I wasn't in any pain. The nurses and the assistants were all there by my side during and after the procedure and let me stay a while in the office until my friend came to get me. The Dr. explained everything he did and Oxsana (sp?) gave me such detailed instructions for how to take care while I heal. Nine implants place in under one hour! I didn't experience any pain or discomfort during the procedure, even while he was administering the local anesthesia. What really impressed me the most was the fact that he didn't use implant guides which would have added more time and cost to the procedure. The staff was very friendly and reassuring as this was my first journey into implant surgery, let alone have nine placed at one time (five in my lower and four in my upper jaw.) I would have enclosed photos of the finished restoration but there are still a few adjustments that are yet to be done. The post-operation pain was manageable with the first day being the most difficult. The supplied ibuprofen they gave me was all I needed to get through the day. I was able to get through the rest of the week on just BC Powder. The bottom line is this, I would have no trouble recommending Dr. Mark to anyone considering dental implants and extractions. He is, in my opinion, one of the top implantologists in New York City, if not the east coast. read more

I had an APICO surgery this past thanksgiving at the Central Park Oral Surgery. They didnt tell me before hand that the cost would be $700, despite having Cigna. On my way out and after having paid, the dentist told me that this tooth most likely will have more problems in the future since "it's been through a lot." Well, only 6 months later i had it extracted. I would love to have been given the full picture before i performed an unnecessary surgery that charged both me and my health insurance. I NEVER write reviews but i felt it necessary to call out the blatant deceitful practices this office is pulling on unsuspecting patients. In April of '21 I was referred by my dentist to Dr. Mark to give me a second opinion on a lesion on my tongue. I called the office, made an appoint and forwarded my referral card (showing exactly what it was for) and when I asked about insurance, I was told that they don't take Guardian (BIG LIE #1- I took her word and didn't bother checking the website) but that they would still run my insurance as out of network and that i would potentially just be responsible for the difference between what my insurance would cover and what they charge. On the day of the appointment, once my consultation was complete, I went to check out and she let me know that Dr. Mark's 15 min consultation was not considered "dental" and that it wouldn't be billed to my insurance as planned and that I would need to pay the whole consultation fee out of pocket. I had not planned on making such a large payment but as frustrated as I was, I went ahead and paid the whole fee. Fast forward to a week later, I called the office to ask for a copy of my receipt so that I could submit a claim through my medical insurance to get reimbursed and the receptionist told me that their "email system was down" and they would only be able to send it to me by mail (?). SUPER sketchy to me already that they couldn't email me a simple receipt but I played along and agreed. 2 days later I received the statement and it showed I still had a $250 balance and made no mention of my payment the day of my consult. i began to suspect that they could not send these digitally to avoid having a paper trail through email. I called back and spoke to the same girl and asked her why the statement didn't show my payment and that i still had a balance in which she answered "what? no, that's weird. I'll send that to you now in the mail" and once again I had to wait another 2 days for it to get to me because their "email system was still down". The statement I received was correct this time and I uploaded to my medical insurance claim's portal but after speaking with a rep, I learned the statement needed a diagnosis code (he didn't provide one) and an EIN number. I once again called back and spoke with the same girl and after asking for this information she told me that she was not allowed to give that information out! I politely let her know that EIN's are public information and that I've had other medical providers share that information with me over the phone before. I quibbled with her about a businesses needing to make that information public but she still denied me of it and proceeded to put me on hold for 15 MINUTES only to come back and ask me if there was anything else I needed. At this point I was LIVID that after everything they put me through, she couldn't provide me with such basic information! I gladly let her know that I would find the # nonetheless and that I caught on to their shady business practices and she dismissed me and hung up the phone. All of that to say, BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL with this office and get everything in writing with this place if you intend on seeing anyone at this practice. It was absolutely disgusting to learn that a medical office would be engaging in such shady things when so many people are already financially vulnerable during the Covid health crisis. I had two infected teeth and he and his team were able to schedule me in for surgery the next day. I was extremely nervous and Dr. Mark had calmed all my anxieties and talked me through the whole process as it was happening. Everyone here is miserable and rude. Don't seem to know anything about how insurance works, what to charge, and how to work in a customer service role. They told me it'd cost me $3200 to pull two wisdom teeth, twice as much as my insurance company quoted. I waited ONE HOUR after my appointment time before being seen for a "consultation," where Dr. Mark barely looked at my teeth for 5 seconds and then overcharged me. He was weird and creepy and didn't seem to care at all, just on to the next as quickly as possible. Please save yourself time and google "Dr. Andrei Mark" and look at his Yelp reviews for his office that is closed on the west side. They are definitely aggressive in asking immediately who referred you and if it's not someone that is on their list they will lie to you and say they do not take your insurance when they clearly do. My insurance company even called them asking to speak to the office manager and they would not respond. They are listed as active with my insurance but are going about in a very unprofessional way. My insurance rep just told me to find someone else because why would I want these kind of people to work on me anyways. Wow. So disappointing. I initially called them because of all the reviews on here but after this bad experience I googled again and saw that they have a whole set of bad reviews for their "closed" other office. I had an apicoectomy performed by Dr. Mark. He's a very skilled surgeon. The procedure didn't hurt at all. I had a minimum of swelling. No pain in the recovery without any medication other than antibiotics and anti inflammatory. Less than a week later I'm fine.
